We could rhyme about politicians
and bankers and the rest
Or controversial religious beliefs.
But we will leave that to the rest.

We rhyme about the weather
and what we cooked for lunch
Our holidays to distant shores
We're just a happy little bunch

So if you think this worth deleting
Well, just 'you' go ahead
Because 'we' are not going away
We'll start another one instead !

"a loaf of bead, a glass of wine
and thou" to make my day
I've not got time for poetry
and I must be on my way.
But when the work is finished
and my fingers sore and red
I'll come and type a rhyme here
before i go to bed.

xx

Hi there Maggie,
I came on here to see
What had happened
to our old poetry

Good for you for starting
A brand new thread
I'll try to add each day
before I go to bed!

I'm glad you don't want
Political rhymes
I couldn't wite a poem
About controversial times!

I'll write about my garden
And read the things you say.
Look forward to reading these new rhymes
At the end of each day!!

At last ! At last ! a nice new thread !,
I really missed the last one.
I loved to stop & read to see
what all our friends had done !

Sometimes I never answered,
just read rhymes, with a smile,
but always added one of mine
every once in a while.

This is the place to come & rest,
to be sure of friends who care,
to put in rhyme whats on your mind
to know there`s someone there.

It`s got off to a smashing start !
Magnolia`s done us proud,
so lets not let this disappear,
If it does we`ll shout real loud !!

I thought i was home alone
Four children fled the nest
Then a granddaughter came to live
A very welcome guest

Lovely to see you all adding
to Rons old legacy thread
I know that his has gone AWOL
but we have Rose's wine and bread !

Ah Stella, how lovely for you
a grandaughter, what a treasure
You can have such 'girlie' days
Doing great things together

i've had to stock the shelves again
buy pizza and garlic bread
and i had to buy a set of drawers
to go with the brand new bed
She's commandered my laptop
but i don't really care
she loves her new bedroom
and brings all her friends to share

Stella,
I read your rhyme
And thought 'You are a star'
I can tell from what you say.
What a lovely grandma you are!

I have snowdrops in my garden
and the daffs are fit to burst
Does that mean spring is almost here?
or am I going to hear the worst.

The weather men say they'll keep quiet
about the weather forecast for the year
As last summer they forecast heatwaves
And it did not happen I fear

Do I buy some spring plants
and risk them dying in the cold?
Or even worse, it could rain like mad
and they will die of mould !

i don't believe the weather man
he never gets it right
when spring sunshine should warm us
the cold north wind does bite
and when he says it will be cold
the snow is falling fast
i sit in my garden with a bottle and a glass
i wear a short sleeve t shirt
whilst i'm waiting for the snow
and cut a few daffodils to bring inside for show.

I think you`re right,
don`t put your trust in weather men so cheery,
why - was it not them who failed to predict
all that snow which made us weary !

Avidily I listened,
"snow showers likely" I did hear,
the maps showed nothing in our town
so little did I fear !

went to bed.. bright & clear..
full moon...methinks a frost !!
woke up next day and Lo !!
all the roads & paths are lost !!

No, I think the old ways are the way,
to predict the weather now....
go back to all the country ways
watch the skies & study the cow !!! lol !

i've got housework and homework
and so much to do
i've just cleaned the fish tank
and am having a brew
if i was an octopus
i would get on much faster
but my arms might get tangled
oh what a disaster !

Well, talking of the weather
did they forecast this today ??
Not a cloud in the bright blue sky
Did they, did they say?

Pottered in the garden
spruced up the table and chairs
Sat outside with a 'glass or two'
the breeze blew away my cares

Stella, please don't do too much
Not now the sun is here
Come and join me at my table
A glass of wine, or a beer??

i`m on my way to you !
I`ll be there, don`t fear,
armed with more wine and beer !
oh, crisps I`ll bring too,
and some daffodils for you!!

Oh welcome Stella and Tina
I have a cake in the oven baking
Just a short trip up the M1
But promise, no overtaking

My garden now is looking a treat
after OH did it proud
But is sadly lacking colour
Need something orange and LOUD !

So on your way up the motorway
Can you find me something bright?
Don't forget your PJ's
you can always stay the night !
