Maggie, I'm glad you are safely home
And Tina please do not feel alone.
And nice to see Stella popped in here
And a visit too from Ron with his beer
I've had a terrible cough and cold
Sleepless nights making me feel so old.
Headaches galore, have I felt rough!
Well, maybe I've gone on enough!
I called in again to say 'Hi' to the girls
And thanks for the wine to our friend Ron
I may not stay here, may not stay long
Because in ten minutes the X factor is on!!!
Who will leave and who will stay.
I will pop back later today!!!

Hi Chrispy! I`m watching `X Factor` too,
so can`t stay long to talk to you ,
except to say sorry you`ve been ill,
settle down with the tv, a cuppa & a pill !

Then I watched Downton Abbey, great TV
Were you watching along with me.
But now it's half term and I'm here to say
I am going to Norfolk today/

In an hour or two I should be off
With hubby and my terrier Toff.
And while I'm away I'll put my thinking cap on
Get ideas for the comp set by Ron!

Though there is chance I may decide to stay
And not go for another day
My son is not well, what should I do?
(He's my baby although he's twenty two!!)

PS I've heard from Dorothy, she' s OK
Involved with a theatre and producing a play.!

Yes Chrispy, Downton Abbey for me !
gets better every time !
I love the `sparring` genteel old ladies
& the clothes they wear are fine.

I have to laugh to myself, though,
at Thomas (the footman) and Bates,
I can still see them in their other progs
& they wouldn`t have been best mates !

Have a lovely time in Norfolk,
hope the weather is set fair.....
although when you`re out there with the dog
I don`t expect you`ll care !!

While searching my genes
I happened upon here
Found on a glance and a gaze
a collection of poems and rhyme -
chocolate, wine, even a drawing too,
t'is amazing what some do with their time.

So I stayed a while and read all the posts
it amused me so much
I forgot to get lunch
while adding to this thread.

but then it got late
almost missing my date
But it all turned out well-
In the end.

well hello Moonbi ! & welcome, I`m sure !
it`s nice when a new face appears.
we come on here every now & then...
and have done so for years !

now Maggies thread is the second, you see,
the first rhyme thread was by Ron...
whe accidently deleted it
and our `bestest` rhymes were gone !

we had a few great Rhymers then,
sadly just a few remain,
but when we pop in and leave a rhyme
the reason is usually plain !

we like to tell whats happening,
announce some news and such,
and share the woes of our friends
yes, we like to keep in touch.

so you feel free to come again,
at some point we will too,
so I speak for Maggie, Chrispy & Ron
when I say "hello" to you !

it really blessed my day.
I thought I was on my own right here
but no; your kind words came yesterday.

this I find so hard to understand,
Your yesterday is my today?
how can that be, work it out
Tis so confusing I have to think
When we are at work you have a long weekend?

Our children three have flown the nest:
it's been all so quiet here
but Id rather that than music loud
and baskets of crumpled ironing.

I take my medicine:
three offspring in small doses as often as needed.
one married and living in Maine USA
one nursing in the recovery ward,
one waiting final exams results
then off to work he goes!

Usa so far away
from my land down under here
but its when i turn the map up side down
I feel on top of the world and cheer.

one little blonde grand boy, so lovely to hug,
with his bear and his dog and his ball.
he enjoys my stories, and his pa's too
cause they're scary about foxes and all.

So here we are, our family seven
spread all over the world.
it seems that times have turned full circle
and we're back in the lands of the call.

Brisbane and the States
Congratulations, you're a fine group,
and we owe you quite a lot.

So thank you to my rhyming friends,
for this opportunity fair
to be courageous and creative too
using words with tender care.

Our time in Norfolk was a treat
Sunshine nearly every day
Walks with my dog, a boat trip too
I wished we had a longer stay.

News of a Royal Wedding
(I'll watch it on TV)
When Charles & Di got married
My sister watched with me

So long ago, yet I can recall
That young blushing bride Di,
Billowing dress, happy smile
Yet looking oh so shy.

But looking at the elegant Kate
I can only hope
That with the stresses of Royal life
She will be able to cope.

I raise a glass to wish them well
Well, of course, only time will tell,
So cheers to Kate and William too,
I send my best wishes to you!

for I have news !! great news !!
for unto us is born a great grand son,
a baby boy to chase away the blues !!

my second great grand child entered the world
yesterday,met with tears of joy,
for after a very arduous time
grand daughter produced her boy !

second child...t`will be her last,
for the problems to big to try for more,
but with baby Jaiden Paul to join Jessica,
a girl & a boy, who could ask for more !!

(oooh, listen.........was that a champgne cork ???

A baby boy
what fun, what joy
That would brighten any day,
Just a while to wait til baby comes home
then you can hold and smile, hug and play.

A dinner dance we had last night
for the class of 2010
To celebrate a year well done
Son graduated with other young men.

Oh yes, the girls did too
but here was our young mate
the last of our nest to walk right through
and shut the College gate.

Tailored suits and black bow ties
They looked so grand last night
Folk ate and drank and toasted too
Right up till near midnight.

The young ones laughed and reminisced
of all the years gone by.
they thought their school days fine fruit salad
of study, socializing, and pie.

It was a theme of red and black
so clearly Suessical
all the items and decorations
seemed obviously musical

The hats and photos on tables of 10
were very comical,
then it came to the Headmaster's speech,
But that wasn't painful at all!

The teachers too were dressed in their best
enjoying the meal and the dance.
It was nice to see them all relax
After all their hard work for exams.

So now mate's off to look for work
where ever fate will lead
And we hope this education has prepared him well
for life with out great need.

Einstein put it once this way

But to be a person of value.
