Not a bad day here.. hubby gardening in a polo shirt ..jeans and other thing too! It is cloudy and windy but not too cold.

My big red poppies are all in flower now..front and back garden, lovely sight.:)

Ironing to do for tomorrow...my mens shirts. Maternal nan would never have done that on the Sabbath.. never knew her ..but always think of her when I chores on a Sunday..forbidden !

lol Sandie,to quote the bible,"the Sabbath was made for man ,not man for the Sabbath". It's up to you whether you use it to rest or to work.
Talking of poppies, we saw fields of them this morning on the way to Penshaw,a beautiful sight. It's a shame they are such fragile flowers.Been cleaning the church and doing a little bit of housework, tired now and going to have a cuppa.
Gary has put a hanging basket outside the front door, hope it doesn't get pinched this time.Have a lovely afternoon all xxx :-)

I can't quote the bible Paula.. but my nan would never do anything but go to chapel and feed her family on a Sunday. <3

I always phone my aunt ( my second mum ) on a Monday.. nan's dau, and we were talking about the same thing...funnily .

My aunt always does her washing on a Monday.. I said I'd done mine over the weekend.. and always think of my nan ( I never knew her, but have been told loads about her ) whenever I do washing on a Sunday.

Hi~~

Weather here is grey and gloomy.
I got wet out shopping earlier.

To rephrase... I can say several quotes from the bible.I admit not from reading it regularly but ..from my mum , Sunday School and irregular attendances at my local Chapel .

wet and windy here this afternoon. This morning was sunny so had a nice walk with dogs and Ava.Thanks to the breeze the bedding I had on the line was dry by lunch time so I've just ironed it :-)
Ava has gone to nursery, she slept here last night. I don't know what I will do when she goes off to school.I do love being a grandma.
There was a nasty car crash at the traffic lights along from us this morning.
The occupants of one car jumped straight out but the driver in the other didnt .I am glad there were a few people about to help as I would have been useless.I didn't even have my mobile with me as I was only nipping along to put the church bin out,The little paramedic car arrived after about 5 mins followed by the fire engine, then 2 police cars.By which time we were back in the house. Ava got a shock bless her at the big bang.I hope and pray injuries werent too serious :-0

Morning~~~

Hope the peeps in that crash are OK Paula,

Not too bad here weather wise , sunny but lots of cloud some looking quite grey.

I have put a wash load out, that I put on last night and have another one in at the mo.

We are having our driveway and patio repaved and the men are due here for 10am..... Thinking about that they may cause a lot of dust, so I 'll wait to see before putting the second wash load out.

Dau went to Cardiff with a friend yesterday and was staying overnight. She went in friends car , hers is usually parked at the front of the house, when I opened the curtain this morning it wasn't there . I thought it had been stolen... but hubby had moved it down the road so that the workmen could park or put the skip there. Phew had a bit of shock at first !

We are having the front garde slabbed also.
The chap, Paul arrived about 10 .45 for apt, should have been 10am.. I do like good time keeping, so was a bit miffed, he cleared a half of the front lawn and then said he had to the the Crescent below to help a mate out.... I didn't see him again.
Boy was I fuming.. I went to the crescent below , after about 2 hrs, saw a colleague of his, who said he hadn't been there, but was elsewhere .After a few exchanges of words and a second visit..cos I was then steaming.. his boss was there and said that all the equipment would be brought up to ours that evening.
They have delivered it all now and it on our patio out of the sight of prying eyes from the road.
So they have to arrive tomorrow.. otherwise they wont get their equipment back.. a large trailer and roller.
The patio is at a 90% bend at the end of the driveway.
If they don't arrive as arranged I will park my dau's car at the back of the drive.. they'll have no way of getting their equipment then !
Sounds nasty way to play things but I was really upset and annoyed with them today.
Forgiveness will be theirs when they come up with the goods tomorrow.
Just hope it all looks good afterwards:)

Hi all~~

Workmen are back :-)
They are nice blokes.. it was their boss who pulled them off our job yesterday, they have lost half a day now.
They have been working hard since about 9,( I think I was out I til 10) don't think the rep who quoted us didn't realise how big a job...especially the front garden would be.
I've been providing them with drinks and rolls so I haven't done much today.
Tomorrow is forecast as sunny , but not looking good after that for a few days..
I'll miss all my array of flowers in the front garden, I took a few photos of them in bloom from when we decided to have it paved.
They were perennials and I have saved quite a few , but hubby has others potted up and we intend to propagate from the one's at the rear garden and will be putting them in large planters so hope we'll will have a good show next yr.

Hi all~~

Stan !!!!!!!!!!!.lol...yes it's raining here too , :-(

Front garden looking like a bomb site!
They have put ( thrown ) some of the dug up concrete drive onto the garden.
Apparently they will crush and use it as hard core before they put down the base for the paving.
Sounded strange to me.. but hubby arrived just before they left and he is OK with it.. so Hey ho for tomorrow.. lets see what happens then.
Hubby is off for a week so he can do the overseeing .!!

rain, rain, and more rain today. It's Caras birthday tomorrow and she has got half a dozen friends for tea so Rochelle was hoping for fine weather so they could play in the garden.
Sandie, are you anywhere near Snowdonia animal sanctuary or Capel Gorman kennels? I just wondered because a while ago they sent me friend requests on face book and I share their dogs needing to be re-homed on my page along with several others including Cefni German shepherds and Border collie rescue which has lots of dogs from Wales.
It's sad the number of animals who find themselves homeless through no fault of their own :-(
Hope you do manage to save some of your flowers :-)
