still quite a lot of ice round here, absolutely lethal when out walking.Tried coming up the main street with the pup but she was terrified of all the wagons and buses passing plus several of the terraced houses have had guttering come down and it is lying broken all over the pavements. Still not having great success house training her. GRRR

Hi~~
Overclouded and quite grey but it's not below freezing, must cold tho as the central heating has kicked in on the thermostat .
I'm a miser as I put either a fleece or my soft fleecy dressing gown over my clothes if I'm feeling cold!!
See Maz is on countdown.lol, me too can't wait until it's all over.
Bil is coming down from N Wales on the weekend, I've already bought the Christmas wreaths but he always wants to lay them with us. Their father died when hubby was 11mths old, his bro is a yr older than him. Mil couldn't afford to put a headstone on his grave and always used to say to me she couldn't remember exactly where he was buried. I used to nag her as to where the grave was but she was always vague. She remarried when hubby was 11. When Stepfather died hubby, I and bil paid for all the necessitatories(sp) on the day, his headstone, etc etc his dau pretended to be caring ,his son was a waste of space . Step dad was great with my children , a proper grandfather and don't regret any monies we paid out ,where his own children didn't, their loss in my eyes! When Mil died we found the rights of burial cert for hubby's dad grave so eventually knew where it was. I don't know really what the 'boys' feelings were about it cos they had never visited their dad's grave, but I couldn't see it unmarked and with their consent.. they wanted it too, arranged for a headstone to be put on their dad's grave. Problem was then when Mil died with whom was she going to be buried ! Both her marriages from what she told me weren't a bed of roses. She didn't tell her sons about their dad but obviously they knew about stepfather. My Bil being protective of his mum had had run in's with stepfather in his younger days, hubby, ..not such a short fuse used to keep it in, but never forgot. Hubby and Bil decided their mum would have her own grave. Hard decision to make..... She told me , not in confidence , so I told hubby.. I think she wanted me to know but couldn't tell her sons, that they had split up before he died , he didn't know.. strange things family secrets/ skeletons.
So on Sat we have 3 Christmas wreaths to place in that cemetery, My parents , grandparents aunts and uncles are all buried in the cemetery/ churchyard where I use to live and they were all brought up and have 5 to take there, as my cousins live miles away and are 20yrs older than me ! Might do my families side before Sat, cos of the threat of snow. It's 8 miles away.
Don't I ramble on !..lol
Can see I have some incoming emails.. must go and check them:)

Hi Ladies~~
My keyboard was defunct yesterday, it's wireless , I changed the batteries.. but it had to be be reset and me being a duffer didn't know how to do it!!. Had to wait for my cavalry to get home:) Could have used hubby's laptop I suppose, ...should have for GR, but don't get my emails in on that.
Had a nasty heavy sleet fall at lunchtime, blue skies again now but windy and cold !
Done all my cards:)?
Just looking for bits and pieces for them all now.
Last night son and dau went to As*a and bought a digital camera for hubby ( his last one defunct ). As you know son still works there so has staff discount 10%, he had an extra 20% Xmas bonus discount, we had a £5 voucher off any camera over £50 so he ended up paying only £40 for an excellent spec camera. Well I'll be paying I expect ,lol. He has a discount card with my name on it , cos I do grocery shopping, so it was either me or him that had to go to buy it.. dau wanted to pick it, so I left them to it, it would have been strange if the 3 of us had gone out last night at the same time ! Hubby would have sussed something and we wanted it to be a surprise.
Probably go out tomorrow to see what bits and pieces I can pick up:))

hope the carol singing went well Maz $andie, sounds like you got a good bargain Ava is sleeping over again so that she can come to church. There is a secret santa present under the tree for her. Our car is off the road as a spring has gone. Hope we can get it fixed quickly because I was relying on Gary doing shopping for last few pressies and goodies while he is off work next week. An expense we could well do without at this time of year.

HI all~~
That's a shame about the singing event Maz :( The weather plays havoc this time of yr.
BIL was not able to come down from N Wales, he lives at sea level on the coast and had a load of snow, the A55 , dual carriageway, coast rd across N Wales was treacherous, with lorries jackknifed everywhere!!. They are just not used to it, same as Cardiff.
We are 1350ft and when it snows ...boy does it snow. We had a foot down on Friday and about 4inches last night. Hubby a confident driver wouldn't go out on Fri, he's got a new car and wouldn't drive it thro a foot of snow .lol. We've just sold my 5 yr old Corsa and he would drive that anywhere in any conditions.Told him we should have kept over the winter !! It was like a little snow plough .lol
I notice on the snow threads peeps are horrified at 2/3 inches of snow,,it must be unusual for the likes of Kent and coastal areas (BIL is used to it) Bet they'd be more horrified at the Scottish snowfalls and our normal ones.We have got away relatively better off than usual so far. We don't hit the National headlines cos it's the norm and in general our council do well with the main roads, us on the side roads don't fair so well:(
Keep warm:)

Hi ladies~~
Don't think it's below zero here, I've been out in a long sleeved thin cardi over a T shirt, to do my recycling boxes for tomorrow and didn't find it too bad. My hands were frozen tho, but that's the norm for me.
Hope to go to one of the cemeteries this afternoon, don't know if we'll manage in the car ,its a steep zig zag drive to the one , never mind we can walk, if we get halfway.
Keep warm :)]

BTW ...the camera turned out to only cost £35, not the £40 as I first thought. We will have to tell hubby of the bargain we had as he will be twice as thrilled as receiving the camera

very cold still here with ice in places. I'm feeling very down at the moment, not sure why. Have got Cara tomorrow now that the schools have broken up. Ava is going to her nanas which is just as well as they squabble so much when together. Gary has got a very heavy cold. Rochelle is having problems with her sinuses. So many sickness and flu bugs going around at the moment. Sorry to hear about the singing Maz :>( Hope you made it to the cemetery $andie. I don't have anyone to visit as all our family chose to be cremated.

Afternoon ladies~~~~~~~~
Hope you're feeling better Paula:) All my lot have colds:(.... they could do with some of that both you made!
Hope your car is 'better' and that your bank balance didn't take too much of dent.
We were able to get to put 3 wreaths on at one of the cemeteries, tho could get the car even as far as the gates, so had to park it up about 100yds away. The graves are in 3 different section of main cemetery, so it took us quite a while to trudge thro all that snow most of it uphill and deep. We didn't attempt to go to the cemetery where my parents and relatives are buried as it's high in the hills in the countryside and a friend I know lives in the village below said the road may 'JUST have been passable' in a 4 x 4 :(
The main roads seem to be OK today, no snow but freezing fog , hubby's got to work. We live about 1,000 yds from the main road with 2 hills one up one down to negotiate which are treacherous and uncleared. It snowed almost all day yesterday, cars were stuck on the hill coming up to our street so hubby left his car at the bottom in a car park. Son went out lunchtime but managed the hills and went to work 4pm til midnight yesterday and got his car home on both occasions, tho he did had shovel the snow clear down to the tarmac on a 90 degree bend where our street 'meets' on of hills ( this was12.15 this morning) ! He is working 4pm til midnight right up until Xmas now ,so I hope we don't have any more of the white stuff ! I hate him being out late in the bad weather.
Roll on the warmer weather. !
