*$parkling $andie* Report 4 Dec 2010 16:48

Hi ladies~~

Yes Maz, my only aunt alive now (mum's sister who has always been very close, she's my 2nd mum now , is 90 :)) whilst she is sprightly and got all her faculties , I'd be horrified if I thought she was out walking on her own in this weather ! So I try to look out for my neighbour and walk with her.

Hope you get you groceries delivered Paula:)
I don't 'do the tree' any more, it's dau's job, but I wont have deccies up more than a week before Xmas.
Pup will soon get her claws down when she out walking and running about, bet she'll be be like a wild thing for while.
Will you take her to training classes or are you confident to train her yourself.?
I always trained mine(family dogs ) myself, but they wouldn't listen to my sister, so when she had her own dogs , Boxers and a Lab she took them to classes.
It's looking slushy outside now.. hope it doesn't freeze !

Hi ladies~~

Keeping an eye out for my neighbour Meg, tho we've had rain overnight and it is sunny now so it shouldn't be too icy in the sun. But she will still walk her dog what ever the weather ! Bless.

I've sent my sister's Xmas card and written my BIL's must get on with the rest of them.

Dizzi had a good idea about e.mailing cards to her friends rather than sending snail mail at the cost of about 40p a stamp, so in this world of hi tec, I think I will do that.
100 cards is 40 quid !!!.. not all on my email contacts, some I send locally via the Scouts, 15p each, other's I can hand deliver... don't I sound like a Scrooge !!
Keep warm folks~~~

HI, $ANDIE, I will train Lois myself as I have all my dogs in the past. I have gone to training classes when I was at school with the dog I had then and to advanced obedience/agility with 2 shepherds I had in my 30s.
I am trying not to send as many cards by mail this year too apart from the cost the postman says there is a massive backlog of mail at the depot so cards might not get to their destination anyway.
Hope the livewires goes well Maz.
Our pipes were frozen this morning, ....what an annoyance

*$parkling $andie* Report 6 Dec 2010 12:19

Hi ladies,~~
Paula , we always had small mongrels as family dogs, adorable, intelligent and well behaved, Dad and I taught them.
They wouldn't listen to my sister hence she took her Boxers and Lab to classes.
I'm sure Lois will be well trained :))
Always loved dogs since our first one was born a week before me, mum came home , heavily pregnant from the Anti natal clinic to find our bitch had given birth to puppies at the bottom of the stairs.::))
always had male dogs since.lol
I think / know dogs sense how dominant and confident you are with them, when I had dad's rescue dog ( cos he couldn't walk him in his late 80's )
I had no prob with him, tho dad had had walked him on a leash I could take him out without one, no probs, always had one with me in case of other dogs.
Maz ,
I missed my 90yr old neighbour this morning, she was out at about 9am, it was so blinking icy !! but I was having a lift with hubby to the Drs, must look out for her at about 2pm.
Hope your livewires do goes well:)

GOT THE COFFEE MORNING TODAY.As Maz said we have more snow. It's very slippy out the front but will do my best to get there. Ava has almost lost her voice, poor bairn.
Cara is going to the panto (Cinderella) at the Gala theatre with school. The annoying thing is Rochelle bought tickets some time ago so it will not be the same when she goes with Cara.

we had a lovely time yesterday. Coffee morning went quite well although not many turned out. Billy, one of the men from church made a big pan of broth and it was delicious. Our ladies meeting in the afternoon was lovely too.
Richard is off work for the rest of the week so I don't have Ava.I tried to order this weekend shopping from T*sco but all the delivery spots were taken.
Have got some ironing to do so will catch up later xx

Beautiful blue skies, but well below freezing here! and pavements very icy and dangerous:(

Done some bits and pieces of Xmas shopping today, just things for the 'stockings ' ..... well they are large bags for them to open on Xmas morning, we give the ' children' the money to buy most of their pressies. Clothes normally... I can't choose those for them , except for hubby, lol.
Dau and Son give use a list of what they would like , so they go into the bags with the little surprises :))

Take care ladies and keep warm:)

Afternoon ladies~~~

Another cold one, but no additional snow, thankfully:)

Must press on with the Christmas cards, don't they take so long to write..or is it me.? (Did a load last night.)
To whom ever I'm sending I like to personalize the message, not just from or even love from, to me that's just like using a rubber stamp !!

Cafe time again this evening for meals ! Hubby home at around 5.30pm, son working at 6pm, so wants to eat by 5, dau gone Xmas shopping ,not sure of her return time :(
Well it's a pork dinner so they will be plated up, they will have to warm them up when they arrive :)

Take care and keep warm ( I notice my heating has just kicked on the thermostat )

*$parkling $andie* Report 10 Dec 2010 11:18

Hi~~~
It's warmer today, car thermo showing +4 , but out walking there's quite a wind chill and compacted snow is like ice underfoot. Seen 2 ladies fall this morning on the downhill footpath into Asda, they were OK but the path was like a glass bottle, I helped them down the rest of the way but decided not to up myself and went the long way around.

Must write the rest of my cards too, sent sisters , bils and my aunts ( 2nd mum to me ) the most important but need to get the other ones that need to go a distance off asap. Bought all my stamps on Weds when I sent my sister's to US.
We normally have our post at about 11am but didn't have it until 2pm yesterday !! Postmen must be busy.
We have a few things to buy for son & dau off the net so must get that done tonight.

Hi ladies~~

Our snow thankfully has almost gone, pavements where the sun hasn't been on them still a bit slippery tho!!!

Did most of my cards that need to be posted last night. Must get them sent.

I have to find 3 special ones today for my hubby's aunt who has been diagnosed with cancer and 6 months to live, one for her divorced dau (devasted) who lives with her, and one for a friend who's hubby died a few months ago, very suddenly.. a PE teacher aged about 54 :(
Life is not always easy:(
