Hi all~~
Another good day:)

Son is still looking for jobs , no luck yet:(
But he's getting more shifts with As*a because the holidays, so not complaining or having to sign on yet !!

Just picked our first runner beans, could have done it at the end of last week, the early peas have gone over, late ones coming on fine, still picking potatoes and broad beans, and carrots now ready.
Red onions are lifted, white ones still in the ground, but beetroot not too good this yr :(
Ooh I love home grown veg:))

Gramps had a huge garden and was self sufficient for the whole yr with fruit and veg , so my aunt tells me ( she is 90 ).So did mum but she's sadly gone now. I remember him bring us fruit and veg, but I was only 5 when he died.
Dad also grew his own, but didn't pickle and bottle/ salt as many as Gramps did, and we didn't have a freezer until I was about 10.
Hubby loves gardening,all three men have been used to a big garden, but Gramps was the biggest.
Funny because the 3 men were in laws and their own sons didn't garden.

Haven't heard from you for a while, sorry to hear about your probs, I suffer with the same , so have total sympathy with you ( not that I wouldn't have anyway cos it's not always been this way for me )
I would have liked to have gone the Newport meet as I only live 20 miles away, but couldn't cos of it !

Morning all~~ (just )

Bit grey and drizzly here , has been for the past few days.
I haven't on for a few days ,a few unexpected things turned up.

Tues I was on my morning walk, talking to one of the villagers, who told me she going to a funeral in the next hour, it was my friend and neighbour, Dave's mother, he has a large family but I've always been the one he calls on with private or sensitive issues. Call me Marje Proops ! I've helped him thro 2 divorces and the death of a girlfriend, our son, his youngest son and his stepson are best friends.
I knew she was terminal but didn't realise she had died,so it was a mad dash home to change to get to the chapel (I didn't have the car but didn't need it for that) I knew my cousin Byron (aka my 'nearly brother.. he lived with us when we were children) would be there as his wife is Sue ( Dave's sister's) best friend,so I had a lift to the crem and was consequently out most of the day.
She, Christine had a lovely 'send off' , it was dignified obviously but she was quite a character, and Teifi the minister( a character himself ! ) had grown up with Dave, so the Eulogy was very loving and very humorous, a celebration of her life:)
It's only a small chapel, peeps where in the kitchen, in the anti room and outside full of the forecourt (same size as the chapel ) and overflowing onto the pavement! Just showed how much the family are respected and loved by many.

morning all son is back from camp in Norfolk am on the 4th wash load lol

hi everyone,been busy with our Keira,my oldest dog.I thought she had had a stroke the other day but it turned out to be something to do with her middle ear Vestibular disease ..She couldn't balance to walk,her head was tilted to one side and her eyes were jumping(nystagmus).sp
Vet gave her steroid injection,anti biotic injection and an anti sickness injection.She has to rest for 2-4 weeks when it should pass.Meanwhile I am hand feeding her as it is too difficult for her to manage to eat out of her bowl.
Poor old lass.
Can either of you remember Snow white from here? There was a message for me on face book today saying she has died.I only spoke on FB to her the other day so was very shocked.Her real name was Jeanie White....very sad.

morning all over cast here but i did get all my sons holiday stuff washed and ironed yesterday so was pleased about that

Bit late again:))

Been starting my volunteering work with our local Community Park, the whole site /walk is 10 miles long but I only cover the top 3 miles.
Organizing walks, activities for the children , litter picking :( ... I leave the fishing to the men.

Sorry to hear about Keira, Paula hope she's better soon.

I'm sure I remember Snow White from when I first joined GR, didn't she used to join in the games threads along with a chap from Mid Wales, whose name escapes me for now ! Quite a charmer:)..Hope he's looking in!!.. Frank ?
As soon as I post this I will remember his name if Frank is wrong.
So very sorry to hear of Jeannie White's passing, if it's who I think she was , she was quite a humorous lady:) Very sad..
From what you say it being such a shock to you, she hadn't been ill ( or admitted she was ) even to a few days ago. So very very sad::

Good for the garden I suppose, but it also needs a bit of sun !!
I had picking the veg in this weather , you need wellies and an old mac or jacket.
I remember last yr whilst picking the peas I began so sink into the soggy ground and my one welly got stuck in the water laden soil and I had to stand on on leg to pull it out.lol

we have had rain but it is dry at the mo so I have hung some sheets and pillow cases out.It is quite breezy so hopefully they will dry pretty quickly.
