Today I am practising leading the Rememberance Day for all those who wish to attended in Peniscola. The person who used to do it is now not well enough to continue, my husband was going to take his place so I am proud to be asked to lead the day and meeting. Please say a little prayer that I do not make any mistakes.
Other. We are delighted with the changes in our kitchen and I am enjoying cooking again. We have Lamb today and I have made an Apple Pie for desert.
My Second Cousin on my paternal side of my family tree came with her husband for lunch on Sunday and it was great. Neither of us can take in that we did not know each other in England and then learnt that we both live in Spain and only 20 to 25 minutes way from each other!
Well not much more to tell today so will stop now
:-)

Bridget, your fear of making a mistake reminds me of something which happened here yesterday. We had our biggest horse-race of the year, The Melbourne Cup -whoch was attended by Prince Charles and his wife Camilla, who presented the cup to the winner.
At the presentation, the usual speeches began with "Their Royal Highnesses, the Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall" or "His Royal Highess, the Prince of Wales and her Royal Highness, the Duchess of Cornwall".....etc.etc.
All went well until one man began his speech with "Their Royal Highnesses the Prince and Prince......er....the Duchess of Cornwall". I knew someone would make a mistake! However, I'm sure you won't have any embarrassment of this kind when you make your speech.

Good mornning to you all. All is well in my house. Jet & Joe are still sound asleep and Jet is snoring, almost as loud as OH! The sky has many colours from pale blue to the darkest you can imagine, with pink, and pale blue moving along together, and in the horizon there is dark blue/almost black looking quite ominous. The trees are still, there is the sound of birds singing but I cannot see them. It feels so tranquil and calming, still the favourite time of day for me. What are your favourite times of the day? I will look in again later in the day just to see if anyone has added on here. I wonder if anyone has any ideas for new subjects to discuss between us as we used to do from time to time?
Enjoy your time everyone.
:-) :-)

Hi Everyone
Sorry I haven't been on recently but I don't seem to get any notification of postings.
Well OH and I are on holiday this week in Wem, Shropshire (near Shrewsbury) with one of OH's Facebook friends (and her OH and their four children) and we are having a great time - we visited last month too. We spent several hours in Shrewsbury, and found a church with a couple of wonderful windows. We also visited several charity shops and got lots of bargains.
I have been reading all the threads today and getting up to date.
Wishing everyone good health and prayers for everyone, Gerard :-) <3

Gerard,
Delighted to see you on here again. Your visits to your friends sounds very interesting and is in an area that I do not know. As for charity shops, I go to them wherever I am and have found some really good clothes and several other items as well which were rather good finds. I think that somewhere in this thread there are postings re Charity shops.
Went out yesterday with an friend and we had our hair trimmed etc and then a really good coffee and watched the sea, the beautiful sunshine and chatted about everything and nothing! Came home and OH had prepared lunch! Thank goodness it was chicken with salad!
Quiz night last night, for some reason there was a rumour that the quiz was not going to take placebo only about 15 or so people arrived but in good English spirit we carried on and our team came second.
The sky is looking ominous and becoming rather dark, we are forecasted a lot of rain, at least I will know that all the plants will have a good watering!
I seem to have mislaid my cutters for stars etc on the Christmas cake, OH is not keen on marzipan so I will put some icing sugar on the top, just a sprinkle here and ther and then add little stars, moons etc.
Well that is all my news and chat for today , take care of yourselves and your friends and family, relax if possible and add something on here to make us laugh, encouraged to do something outstanding, learn to like ourselves and anything else YOU choose to add. :-D :-D

Gerard. I wouldn't rely on getting notifications from GR if I were you. I have had some and not had some. I just check in each morning and talk to my friends on the GR Aussie site (which mostly has more non-Aussies than Aussies chatting), then I move over to other favourite sites and (sometimes) look at other postings. I post on THOSE only if I have something to say on the subject being discussed, but on this site and the Aussie site - I talk a lot of drivel, I know, but usually find something to say.
Don't wait to have something interesting to say. Just let us know you are there and that all is well.....otherwise we will start to be worried about you.

Good morning everyone.
Gerard, it is good just to know that you and your wife are well, so there is a reason for you to stay in touch with us all.
Berona, I know exactly what you mean, I am somewhat nosy when I see new headings but often have a quick look and think...'not for me'. As others are saying, I make sure that the threads I would wish to be notified off do not stay 'added as a Watched Thread'. For the last week I have made sure before I retire to check thar the tick has been done......then look in the morning as I did today and it is NOT marked.....
Gerard, how about adding a subject that we could debate, or something similar, then we could all be involved?
Have a good day everyone.
Just had a message and a direct family member has sent me a wonderful message about being able to buy reproductions for medals for the 1st and 2nd world wars. Guess what I want for Christmas.......I will add all the info on ANC......
If you want any info Gerard please email me.

Thank you Ann. Now the day has arrived I feel fairly comfortable about it and as I said before, rather proud.
I wonder if any watched the programme last night. We found it somewhat different than usual and OH only enjoyed the last 15 to 20 minutes, but I on reflexion thought it was good. The Royal Family looked quite relaxed and yet appropriate. The photos of the soldiers and other personnel in the services who died in the last 12 months and those who also died protecting and supporting them brought tears to my eyes. My prayers to do will be for these families and the friends of this brave people.
Made me think again that I have been fortunate re my Army son......God Bless all the personal involved and their families.

Ann Thanks for your question. I was talking about the programme on the evening of the 10th. I was halfway through when the brain clicked and I realised that this was to show just how the UK services are always serving across the world and has had some very young people die such as those who served in the Falklands, So on reflection this was an excellent programme and I apologies to every one as I did not make this clear.
OH also made the same mistake as me.
OK, what are we all up to today?
I have done the washing it is dry and has been ironed, i find this quite therapeutic and relaxing. OH vacuumed the main part of the house and cleaned the open fire which we used for the first time since March. There is nothing nicer, in my view than having a good meal at home, with a good wine and a real fire. OH even set it again for tonight.
The weather is not looking very good dark blue sky, wind shaking the trees and some of the plants, Jet & Joe go outside and almost immediately come back in...so it must be cold!
I am also trying to help a friend with his family tree but on another site and his family come from Birmingham and there are just so many people with the surname Harris...it is making the work rather difficult...no response from anyone. I wonder if there is a Family History site for Birmingham?
Well OH watching a Film, so I am to do some more research.
Best wishes to everyone
Bridget :-)

Good morning everyone from a very wet, rainy day in my part of Spain! It was the noise of water cascading down our outdoors steps that first woke me this morning at about 05.20. It was so loud that I thought something awful was happening. Went into the study and all I could see was rain!! The pool looked grey rather than blue, no singing birds, and Jet & Joe were hiding under our bed! This occurred about an hour ago, and thankfully the rain has stopped but the sky is still very dark and only a few birds singing. Gerard, do you also have a tree on A....try? I have over the last 4 or 5 months added info etc to our shared part of my tree, just thought you would like to know. I do hope that you and your wife are fine and healthy.
I have put some photos on people in my Genes tree and would like to copy them else where, can I do this from my genes tree, and if so please could someone tell me how to do this. Tried yesterday but no luck!
Well, I hope that someone adds on here today :-) :-)

Bridget, glad to hear that you actually did enjoy the royal Festival of Remembrance on Saturday 10th. I love it when they have the bands playing, don't always like the singing and didn't like Rod Stewart this year, but did enjoy the Military wives choir.
Sounds as if your weather is much like ours, except that strangely the last few days have been dry. :-D
