a YOUNG 66 i am sure Bridget ! We Baby Boomers are a much younger generation than those of our parents..don't you think.
Where has this year gone ? We have all waited for the Queens Jubilee and now its gone, but the rain lingers on and on and on.....it will be mid summer soon and the only winter items I have discarded are socks, and long sleeve jumpers..otherwise no difference !!
I think that is why we have all not had the energy to come on the diary...for when the weather doesn't rain, we are out in the garden getting rid of the weeds, and rescuing our veg !!
Have a lovely weekend everyone

I remember the Coronation. I was living in warmer climes (Penang in Malaya), as dad was in the army.
So a very hot sunny day. Was getting over whooping cough but still managed to dress in my finery, including a new ribbon for my hair and a little bag.
Watched a little of the celebration on the tv this time.
Very envious of the Queen's ability to get up and down steps witout assistance not even a hanrail. I'm a few days younger than Prince Charles and I struggle with steps.
I'm still sorting out lods of paperwork. Am a bit of a hoarder, but am now trying to get rid of "stuff" prior to decorating. At least I have now got the base coat to go on the newly plastered walls (and ceilings) Have also chosen my paint colours.
Bridget, sounds like you had a great celebration for your birthday. You were bon the same year as my sister. So pleased that you had a nice chat with your daughter, an extra special present.
Back to the sorting, am trying to do some every day. One of these days it will be FINISHED!!!
Hello to everyone, Tess

Belated birthday greetings, Bridget. Good to see your celebrations went well too. I don't think I mentioned before, that I am also pleased to know that things are going well for your step-son. I have often wondered about that.
I envied the Queen and Duke, being able to stand for so long, as they progressed down the river. They must have been very tired by the end of the day. I couldn't stand for more than a few minutes before looking for the nearest chair. This has made me become a different person to what I was, when I get J.W. people knocking on my door! Usually, they are middle-aged ladies, so I try to be nice - but my religion is in my heart and head and I can't stand there discussing it with strangers whilst my body is aching to sit down, so the longer they keep talking, the nastier I get. I don't like myself when I do it, but I wish they would leave me alone.

Thank you all for your comments. I am so tired and really would like to sleep right now but then I will not sleep tonight. Never satisfied,,,,,,well not really!
The sun is shining away, the garden looks very good and my plants are surviving, I am delighted to say.
I haven't done anything special today except become more and more annoyed with my Ancestor Joshua Jukes who was born in Wiltshire...he appears to haves several wives, a bit of a philanderer, and on some census he is in two different places...he must have walked from one house to another!!!! Has anyone ever had a pet that somehow had Flees!!!!! ? We really do not know how or where J & J have got theirs and we do have medication and some rather expensive items on the neck which is supposed to stop this...I am at a loss as their vet said he had never seen them with Flees but the local people who cut their coat occasionally said that they both have them......Any suggestions how to manage this and /or prevent it happening again?
Well time to walk J& J around the house, 3 different levels and the house is in the centre of the plot and de-head any flowers that need to be tidied .
Berona, I know exactly what you mean about a certain Religious group, when we lived in Frinton on Sea in Essex UK we had them call quite frequently. At first I even invited them in bu in the end I had to write to their head office to say I no longer wished to have any member visit our house. Tess, I loved Penang, when we visited their with our four children when I was married to my first Husband, we stayed at a hotel but right now I cannot recall the name...will have to go and look now...OH getting older is a nuisance sometimes. How fortunate you were to have lived there.
Have a good evening and I will start to add on here more frequently
Bridget, :-)
OK Of course I remembered the hotel as soon as I stopped writing!!
Shangri-la Rasa Sayang Resort & Spa, Penang, Malaysia
Batu Ferringhi Beach
The Rasa Sayang Resort & Spa takes its name from an old Malay folk song that also means 'a feeling of love'. It is little wonder where this beautiful resort takes its inspiration from, as guests will fall in love with its luxurious setting.
The resort has played host to some of the world’s most recognisable names; from royalty and prime ministers to celebrities and the rich and famous. Through the years, ours guests have included 'Lifestyle of the Rich and Famous' host Robin Leach, romance novelist Barbara Cartland, Hollywood celebrity Stephanie Powers, former Cambodian King Norodom Sihanouk and former Chinese Presidents Jiang Zemin, Li Peng and Hu Jin Tao.
With a long heritage in Penang, the Rasa Sayang has borne witness to the state’s transformation from a free port to an industrialised one, and as an island getaway to a rich heritage city. Perhaps Leach’s famous 'champagne wishes and caviar dreams' toast best sums up the resort’s promise of indulgence to its guest.
OOOHHH they were the days!!!

Very peaceful here this morning, the church bells have been pealing,I always find this very relaxing, the trees and plants are still and the sun is shining. Along with that I feel very comfortable and relaxed and I hope that most of you feel the same.

Good for you Bridget, losing weight like that. I suppose you feel much better for it too. I lost weight after having my thyroid gland removed,11 years ago, but my dress size has remained the same - 24-26. Unfortunately, most stores only stock up to size 24 and now that I am more 26, I have great difficulty in buying clothes. Because I am unable to walk around shops, I have to either get my daughter to shop at a 16-26 shop, or purchase online. Why do they think that after size 24, we look better if we just wear a tent??? It is impossible to buy nice dresses, designed to suit the larger figure. And why do they all show us the designs being worn by models younger than 30 and nowhere near our size?

Well I have no idea why I haven't been on - just been a little bit busier than usual.
Well this week I had the privilege of doing the flowers in my church - such a nice thing to be able and allowed to do.
OH and I celebrated our ninth wedding anniversary on Thursday (the longest day) - shortest day for Berona!! - and we had a very special Chinese meal, and we got the chance to dress up too.
It's been such a miserable June weather-wise I am sure that we can't talk about gardens and etc.
Keep well everybody and I'll be back on here soon <3
Gerard :-)

Belated Happy Anniversary greetings, Gerard. Our Spring was hotter than usual with temps much higher than expected, then, when Summer arrived, it brought lower temps and rain (which we don't normally see much of in Summer) and then, all of a sudden, it was gone and Autumn was here. It seems like you are having a Summer like we had.

Hi All I too have been ,issing for weeks - had lots on my mind and could not get motivated. Before I forget belated congratulations Gerrard on your wedding anniversary. As you may remember we went to UK mid May to see my mom for her 89th birthday and it also gave my sister time out. We arrived back in Spain on Wednesday 24th I think it was and by the Monday mom was in hospital - blood tests showed liver probs - so I was looking at flights again. To cut a long story short she rallied around and the prognosis was that she had kidney stones and passed them. Anyway after 3 weeks in hospital she came home a week ago and everything seems ok. We are now looking at flights in August to go back and see her. On top of all this I then came down with a cold bug - coughed and coughed - lost my voice - and felt proper poorly. I also say summer colds are worse than winter ones. Anyway, pleased to say I feel loads better now and on Sunday we actually went down on the beach and went for a swim - all very enjoyable. Hubby had a close shave though - someone had buried a broken cava bottle and he managed to cut his foot on it. Why do people do these things - there are rubbish bins on the beach - luckily it was not a bad cut but if a child had been digging in the sand I dread to think what could have happened. Anyway we picked all the glass up and deposited it in the rubbish bin. Well the sub is shining and guess what - yes I have the ironing to do so I had better sort it out before it gets too hot. Hope everyone is ok Take care Love Mary xx

Hello all, another one who has been absent. Congratulations on your wedding anniversary gerard, sounds as if you had a lovely meal.
Mary hope that you continue to feel better, a swim in the sea sounds lovely, is the water clean? I always wonder these days. How dangerous to leave a broken bottle on the beach, could have been nasty.
Berona so far our summer is practically non existent. We have just had ten days in the Lake District which were lovely although we had four good days three extremely wet, two wet and one very damp.

Hello everyone, I am still alive and kicking when needed. We have let our house out for the first time and we are currently outside Barcelona staying in our son and his soon to be wife. The weather is good, we are sitting watching people go by and using our iPads we do not have Internet access back at son,s house.
Jet and joe are sond asleep after a two hour walk.
Gerard I hope you enjoyed your special day and happy birthday for those who have just had theirs or who will have in the next week or two.
Bye for now.

Well, I have been madly busy too, do not know where the time weeks have gone. Went to the next village last week to see the Olympic Flame go through. It was a lovely occasion and a happy atmosphere. I am so proud to be a Brit, what a lovely and momentous year this is turning out to be...one that we will not forget......apart from the rain that is.......its raining again as I write. Congrats to all who have had anniversaries and birthdays. my OH and I celebrate 20 years in September, and we are renewing our vows., as well as having friends and family for lunch. So hope by then that we are going through and Indian Summer !!
This week I am helping my sis in law to do a display for her churches flower festival. we are depicting "We plough the fields", and having a a hand push plough as part of the display. Hope for the best.
Regards everyone

Hi I am here again! No, the Dongle hasn't arrived yet - my son has taken pity on me and bought his lap-top round for me to use. He has had to plug my mouse into it though as I just couldn't cope otherwise.
Such a lot of catching up to do, just a quick Hi at the moment. Will be back again soon. e seems to be jumping all over the place, so hope it makes sense.

A quick message. First I am pleased that most people seem to be healthy...must be summer weather.
I am having trouble with myUK pension payment. Have the dates for this each month been changed. My pension normally are in around the 4th of each month. NONE this month !!!
Any advice would be a great help.........if I try to talk to someone in the bank they are all in India!! this is now my only income and I am very worried. I can only get on the Internet when I am out.i will stay out for a couple of hours.
We are renting our house for 2 or 3 months but the people are there but not put the charge money into my husbands account........thisis supposed to be dealt with the Agent who is a friend of us!!!
Ann I have the basic iPad but it has so many features that I cannot see anything re the newer version that most people would use.
Only a few weeks ago I discovered all sorts of extra items to down load for a few pence or free.
Bridget
Hope this
