Hello Marie, many thanks for your prayers for J, I was so pleased to hear that your Sarah made it to the graduation, Your Grandson sounds the same as mine he is that tall too, he called yesterday and had tuna sanwiches a packet of crisps, and a plate of chicken stir fry I had made for my tea, then he went and had a look in the fridge, so we all shouted "Get out of the fridge" made no differance at all!!!
Huia, what great names you all have, mind you we dont have birds with such exotic names, but a lot of celebs name their offspring after seasons and flowers, take care lovely lady , ....
Love Jean x

Hello everybody, Just looking in before I go out to do the weekly shopping, a job I hate doing. Although it is only the two of us now, I still seem to spend more than I want. The prices seem to go up each week!
Thank you Jean for your PM, Hope you have recovered from doing all the washing and ironing.
Mo and Marie, my daughter Jennie is twenty four at the end of the month, she has been married to Michael for three years. He fusses round her like a mother hen. Jennie has suffered from Crohn's for just over five years, a couple of months before her ninteenth birthday. Crohn's is a disease of the colons, there is no cure for the disease, although it is not life threatening, it is not very nice to have. A lot of people that have it, are often frightened to go out because of needing the toilet. And as you have all probably found, there is never one near when you need one. Crohn's is also very painful and uncomfortable, especially when patients suffer a flare up.
Jennie hasn't long been out of hospital, after suffering from another flare up, it was the third flare up in six months. The consultant, now seems to think that her medication is not working, so are thinking of changing it. She has been given the choice of one, of two new ones, one has a low risk of getting cancer, the other one, she would have to go into hospital every eight weeks to have the medication through a drip. Both drugs lowers the immune system. Not much of a choice really!
Marie, I was very pleased to know that your granddaughter could go to her graduation!
I must go and get the shopping done now. Thank you all for asking about Jennie. Speak to you all soon.
Best wishes, Sallie.

Hi all, greetings from Jersey. Lovely sunny day here today and more on the way for tomorrow. Went for a very long walk (route march) with a friend thismorning. Gotta make an effort to shift the excess flab. We do ok till we get to the end and the cup of tea beckons and tea is no good without a cake or biscuit is it? Rude not to have one when someone has gone to the trouble of making them and they look so lovely on the counter.
Sallie, my sister has Crohns disease, accompanied by Ulcerative Colitis so I can understand what your family are going through. My sister has a special key for disabled toilets and also has been issued with a medical card that she is able to show in any public place to gain access to their facilities, even if she isn't using that particular establishment. It has come in handy when she has been on holiday in a different town and could not find any public toilets. She just goes into the nearest shop/cafe/restaurant etc, and they have to allow her use of their facilities. Certainly takes away a lot of worry for her.
All well here. I actually managed to do some more work on my Tree today. The first for ages. I have really come to a standstill, and the brick wall I'm hitting just gets higher.
Hope you are all fit and well and enjoying life. Have a lovely evening.

Hello all, Sorry I forgot to say that Crohn's affects both the small and large colon. Jennie has ulcers in the small colon, unlike the large colon it isn't easy to take part of the small colon away. Jennie has also been told by the consultant, that some people have Crohn's in the mouth. Apparently the ulcers that Jennie's got are quite deep into the colon, so can't take part of it away. We'll just have to wait and see how things will go.
Deborah, I'm really sorry to hear that your sister has both Crohn's and Ulcerative Colitis. It's bad enough having one of them, but two, it must be very difficult for her. Please give her my best wishes!
I was in such a hurry earlier on, that I forgot to finish explaining about Crohn's disease. I was so excited because I was going to do my favourite chore. I don't think!
All the best, Sallie.

Hi Debbie and Sallie. I also was tested for ulcerative cholitus, many years ago. I spent weeks in hospital being transferred, form the medical to surgical teams. In the end they told me I have irritable bowel syndrone. That is bad enough, but not as bad as crohn's. I do not envy anybody who suffers from it. Please give them my best wishes, and tell them to keep their chins up,they will be in my prayers. I am going to take my tablets, and get into bed,in the hopes I will feel better in the morning. It's like a flu virus, and I wont go out of the house, till it has gone. With this swine fever about,if I sneeze, people will start to think I have got it. Goodnight god bless you all, speak to you tommorrow. Mo xxx

Hello MO, How is everything with you today?
Weather is nice and bright here today, but a bit windy. So have managed to get some washing dried.
Been up to town - market day today, so it was good to have it dry.
Other than that, it's all very quiet.
Sallie.

Hi Sallie. It's been blowing a gale here all day. But I did get all the bedding dry, thank goodness. I have not been out at all, since Monday. Still got this blessed flu. But I will have to venture out tommorrow,as we can't live on fresh air. I hope Jennie is o.k now,and that you are feeling well also. Love to all. Mo xxx

Oh Jean, how insensitive am I. I am so sorry,I asked you to remind us,about Marie's birthday on Monday. And you have got the worry of J going into hospital that day. How could I forget that. I am so sorry. I do hope you have a better night's sleep tonight. There's nothing worse than having night cramps, and leg pains. Poor Dutch has had a really bad patch just lately. And she is a lady, who puts others first. There seems no justice in this world, when all the good people have to suffer, and the bad get away with everything. It is understandable, that J's worrying, but god willing it will be a good result, for him. You are both in my thought's and prayers. I am feeling a lot better today, but I have been left with a very chesty cough. It has been a very strange day here, weatherwise. First thing this morning we had very heavy rain, but by dinner time the sun had come out,we still have high winds though. I had to venture out today, the first time since monday. I had to get some food in,we can't live on fresh air, unfortunately. It was a culture shock,I am just glad I waited till this afternoon,I didn't really fancy getting wet. Take care one and all. Love and best wishes. Mo xxx

Just popping in to see how you all are, today.
It's quiet here today, not much happening.
The weather doesn't help, although it's quite nice now, we have had heavy showers throughout the day. Jean I hope your legs are better, and that you manage to get a good nights sleep tonight.
Mo pleased to hear that you are feeling better, apart from a chesty cough. If it will carry on, it might be an idea to go to the doctors. Take care!
Speak to you all soon.
Sallie.

Hi Mo, I've had a few bad nights. The trouble is, as soon as I switch the light off, my brain seems to switch on. So after twisting and turning for a couple of hours, I get up, make a cup of tea and see what's happening on here, until I start to feel tired . My husband goes to sleep as soon as his head touches the pillow. I do envy him, wish I was the same!
Best wishes. Sallie.

Hi all, have enjoyed reading the posts in the last couple of days. Sallie, tea keeps me awake, I always find a couple of chapters of my book help me to unwind enough to get a good nights' sleep. I bought a few short story books at a boot fair when we were on easter hols, and they are just enough pages to keep me going each night.
All well here. So sorry a few of you have had bad weather. Don't want to make you envious but it's been 18ยบ all day here and I sat outside having coffee with a friend thismorning, overlooking the beach and one of the castles. Bliss.
My eldest 2 are all excited for their trip to Portsmouth tomorrow, so were early to bed. We have to be up at 5 to be at the airport before 6am. Hubby is out at a Snooker dinner tonight so not much chance of him helping out in the morning. I'll do the airport run and leave the little ones in bed. They will start to jump up and down on Daddy from 6.30am onwards. Hope his head isn't too sore!!!!!
Hope all of you with various ailments soon have relief from them. I am sure warmer weather will be a godsend to some of you. It always makes you feel better psychologically even if the aches and pains are still there.
Oh well, off to bed soon, otherwise I won't get up in time tomorrow.
Best wishes and thoughts to you all. DEBBIE

Oh Sallie I do know what that is like. When I started the menopause, many moons ago now,I would go to bed so tired, and as soon as my head hit the pillow, someone turned the light switch on in my brain, and I would ne dog tired, but sleep alluded me. My doctor put me on sleeping tablets, the only problem is,I cannot sleep without them now,I have become addicted to them. The doctor said they were non addictive, but believe me they are. I hope the boys have a brilliant weekend Debbie Souds like you've had a busy day Marilyn, yummy scones, jam and cream sound just great,I bet theres none left for us though is there, oh shame on you boo hoo.You didn't save us some Yes we all want to know what this DONGLE is,I just hope it's not rude.
