Hi Marilyn. Good luck for tommorrow. I will be thinking of you. I believe Jean is back Friday week. I was hoping her daughter would check her pm's for her whilst she is away. Thanks for your response Julia.

I have looked at the rules for message board use. 1 we must communicate in English. My name is not English, and Taff is a Welsh name. I think Dutch is ok as it is the English name for somebody from a country beginning with N. 2 we must stick to the topic and we do tend to meander a bit. 3 we must not submit the same or similar material more than once.
That is just a few of the things where most of the topics are breaching the rules. I am going to be hitting 'review' on a couple of the stickies.

If I disappear from the boards it will mean that I have been banned for daring to suggest that 'they' remove their sticky re tree access as it is a duplicate thread. If I do disappear and any nice people want my email addy Liz aka Purple has it.

Mo, I had a reply re my request for reasons for the removal of certain threads and was told to read the Guidelines, which I did. At 19.49 I posted some of the things from the guidelines which we appear to have breached on most threads. I then hit the Request review button for their sticky about trees and said as it is a duplicate thread and has been stuck there for over 4 months it should be removed. I am now waiting to be banned for being so cheeky.

It's hard to understand why anyone would object to the thread. I kept referring to it to know who was who, as there are a lot of nice people on these boards, but it takes a while to get to know them all. I'm still learning!
I contributed to the thread, but since I learned this week that everyone in the world can read them just by googling, I'm not sure that I mind the thread being whooshed. Just don't know who requested that it be done, because if I wanted my details off it, all I had to do was delete my one posting.
If anyone objects to the thread, all they need to do is 'don't contribute to it'! Live and let live - and all that.....

Hi everyone, I too thought I was losing the plot somewhat when I returned from holiday and couldn't find Jeans thread. It was a lovely chatty item, and no harm was being done, as far as I could see. It was nice to be able to keep up to date with people.
Anyway, let's hope something gets going again.
We returned on Sunday from a fantastic 2 week holiday in the New Forest. The children loved it and we had a great time visiting favourite places as well as a few new ones.
Off to school now to collect the children. Best wishes to everyone for a lovely weekend. Let's hope this glorious weather keeps up.

Hi Deborah. It's good to hear from you again. I am glad you had a nice break away, and that the children enjoyed themselves. There is enough there to keep them amused. And you chose the right time to go,weatherwise I mean. Did you camp out or have a caravan,or did you go to a hotel nearby. I would love to go sometime,my son and his family have been several times, but it is one place we have yet to visit. Best wishes Mo xxx

Hi MO,
Have only just got back round to sitting down at the computer again.
No, we didn't camp in the New Forest. We stayed in a 3 bedroomed Lodge/Chalet type place on a site at New Milton, which is just outside the forest itself, and right on the coast. A place we have been before and one which we are happy to visit again.
We leave camping under canvas until the summer months when the weather is supposed to be nicer, though I don't think we could have asked for much better than we just had for our 2 weeks.
That area of the UK is certainly a lovely one to visit, and there really is loads to do inside and out. We managed a huge amount of walking this time, which was great. The youngest 2 children are 6 & 7 so can now walk reasonably long distances before they get tired.

Hi MO,
Thanks for the greeting. Nice to talk to you again. Hope you and yours are well too.
I think I will probably contribute to a new thread if Jean starts one again - but this time, I will say as much as I can to identify myself, bearing in mind what I have learned this week.
Come to think of it - I said before that I could have deleted my post if I was worried about it - but now realise that even that wouldn't be necessary - just Edit it!
I'm a bit slow - but I get there eventually - and I always blame Old Age - it's a good backstop!

Afternoon Sallie,Deborah and Berona. And all friends on here. It was nice to hear from you all again. I do hope Marilyn is o.k,as she had to go into hospital yesterday, for an ear operation. I hope she will pop back on,and let us know how she is. Do they do smaller apartments,at New Milton Deborah. As there are now only the two of us at home.It sounds wonderful. It is so depressing Berona, when one cannot be oneself,on a site like this, isn't it. We really are so trusting of others, and they are not all as honest as they seem. But we must not let them beat us. If we feel we are being abused, then as you say delete as soon as possible. But I do hope you keep posting. Oh by the way, what's this about old age,we all have to get there sometime. My problem is,I feel like I have been there for years. The body is ageing, but the mind is not. Hi Sallie. I hope you have had a good day out,and not had to spend to much. I believe I am the lucky one, being able to count Jean as one of my cyber friends. I firmly believe, that what you give you receive in kind. I had to go shopping myself today, gosh girls,it gets worse every week doesn't it. How can you buy the same things every week, and yet they rise so much in price. We were supposed to have rain today, but guess what, they got it wrong again. We have had lovely sunshine,I hope it continues. Enough of my moaning, speak to you again soon. Love and best wishes Mo xxx

Hello Everyone , I hope you are all well. It is nice to read all your posts supporting Junes thread. Yesterday was 25Th April ( Anzac Day) a very special day for the Australian's and New Zealander's. I watched the March which went for 3hrs, although our last Anzac died last year, the march is growing in strength every year. The ABC channel 1Broadcasts the event ,after the March we then get the dawn service at Gallipoli live. It was a beautiful service and yes I shed a tear for the boys who lost their lives and for the families of those killed. The service was shared with the Turkish people who are now our friends. We have had several days of rain and it is very cool the forecast is for frosts this coming week, I am not looking forward to the winter, but I do enjoy going to the local football and that starts next weekend so that is one good thing about winter. MO yes i do like traveling I have had several trips overseas and if I had the money I would go to England and Ireland again. How are you all going with your Family research I would do a lot better if I could navigate a bit better on my computer I often make things disappear.I cant get anywhere with my Irish ancestors. Love and Hugs Marie from OZ.

Hi Everyone..!!
Especially MO that's been worried about me, I'm up and about got over the anesthetic ,I was a bit woosey for 24hrs.
The operation went very well I now have a screw in my head LOL, the skin has to heal around the screw for 3mths then the bone anchor hearing aid gets fitted onto the screw, its only a tiny little box behind the ear instead of an hearing aid which irritates my ear. Gosh I feel as though you've all had a medical lesson !! Anyway I was treated to dinner yesterday at my sisters house so was away from putter . I have read all your lovey stories especially Maria's very interesting ! Cant wait for our lovely Jean to come home,it looks like this thread will stay for Jean anyway . So to all you lovely people on here its nice to have good wholesome friendship.......refreshing, Be on later MO.. Marilyn xx

I am glad you enjoyed Anzac Day, Marie. We have just had Saint Georges Day here, the patron saint of England,BUT we do not celebrate, like the folks of Ireland,or any other of our neighbours in Scotland or Wales, unfortunately. We do not seem to be as patriotic, but I really wish we were. It would be nice if you could travel over to here again, then we could all put a face to the name. It is always so nice to hear from you. I seem to have come to a standstill with my tree. I can't find two of my ancestors, they seem to have vanished into space. But never mind,I may find them one of these days. Hi Marilyn. I am so glad you are recovering well. Welcome to the screw loose club. I am glad yours has been secured,as I lost the screws in my head ages ago. It comes with age in my case. You lucky thing having someone else doing a meal for you. I have to be flat on my back, unwell, before anyone thinks oh poor you and cooks for me. No I must not complain,if the OH cooked it ,it would probably be inedible. He is the only person I know that can burn beans on toast. But I love him all the same, warts and all. Have a lovely day. Speak to you all very soon. Love Mo xxx
