Tis one year to the day that I found one of my long-lost sisters, my Siblings thread has vanished, think GR have whooshed it.

Such a shame, full of memories of all those who have searched, held hands on emotional rollercoaster, joy/elation/sadness/parties and more.

It was a geneaological thread ...

Hey ho, nothing can take away our memories yet I'd planned to put a huge banner up celebrating our one year birthday.

You know, I will ...

My original question grew into such a thread, a family called The Waltons ... we were all searching, not just for Siblings but for children, family and more. Not one cross word, just holding each others hands, smiling, laughing, supporting and more ... so much more.

So many siblings:

Shimms, mc (miss chief who was there for everyone), Moy, Sheila (supports and helps us all), Whirley, we both went on our emotional rollercoasters on the same weekend and for both of us it was such a happy weekend and Sara, Funny Fairy who was so poorly, had flu ...

I can't understand why GR whoosh a thread like yours Shimms. It gave support to those about to go through the process of meeting up with newly found sisters and brothers.
I first met my older sister in September of 2006. We keep in touch and meet up when we can. We had 44 years of not knowing each other, but she finally found us! So it can be done even after a really long seperation.

One year ago, I had not meant any of you, had no idea what happiness and joy you would bring into my life.

I am so pleased for you that your older sister found you, that you are in contact, meet up ....

I am lucky too, my sister totally accepted me without reservation, in fact it was today that I uttered the words, "I think you are my sister!" xxx

Searching for brothers, sisters, parents, children, supporting each other. Yes, twas a place where we could be safe, have a safety net ...

It was my thread yet it belonged to everyone, the only thing I did was to put the thread up. From that moment on, it was a family. xxx

Not another one whooshed Shimms.Have we ever had an explanation as to why it happens and always to the good long running threads.
At least we are still altogether.Thankyou for the thread,I think it has been so good for some to talk about experiences and emotions of meeting B Family for the first time,and to hear all the different stories.

I didn't know until I looked for Birth Family that my adoptive parents had no info at all on my background or my B Mothers name.I think this was the norm for Scotland in the 50'.They told me my mother was 18 and a student.......I think to let me think I had a studious mother lol.Little did they know she was 31 had already had 5 children before me and was a clippie on the buses !!!!!
I wonder if others were told something ,and then found out something completely different?

got to keep the thread going until Shimms is back, don't want it to disappear to far down the thread's do we not after looseing the other one.
Hope everyone is well and copeing with new sibling's they have found, I had a sad day yesterday I had to go to the funeral of my friends son, he was only 24yrs old. It was the hardest funeral I'v ever been too and his mum was distroyed.
Well until Shimms come's back let's continue to support each other like we alway's have.Thank's again Helen and Carol for being there for me yesterday when I got back from the funeral it was great to have your support {{{{{{{{{{ Big hug to you both }}}}}}}} and take care

I am so very sorry to hear your sad news, what a tragic loss, your son must be devastated, all you can do is be there for him, I send my deepest sympathies to both of you, and I am glad to see that Helen and Carol where there for you this is what this thread is all about.

Thank you for your post, Yes my son was very upset as he was in school with him from the age of five. Myself and my daughter baby sat him and his younger sister, I can't imagine what it must be like for my friend to loose her eldest child and only son.

what no one been on thread since my last one?
Hope your all alright, your all probably haveing a good Easter, me I'm well had to work all over the Easter hol's, haven't had much time for chat till late evening when everyone has usually gone to bed, that remind's me must get off too Dream land myself , early start in the morning, Work again! looking forward to next Tuesday got a week off { HOORAY TIME OFF AT LAST } { not a day off since early January } Poor old me.
