Hi Dawnie, do you think you might be tensing up anticipating how stressful it will be with your o.h. away from the house, and that causes more pain, I know if I am stressed my neck and shoulders tense and that goes up into my head so I am in a lot of pain and feel wooly headed. I hope you can get better pain relief sorted out but it all takes time doesn't it for things to start working. |

Easily done Dawnie, I keep getting called Lazy by o.h. because I don't do much round the house, I can't do that and have any tiny bit of a life so I do what I want to do most of the time instead of what he expects me to do, you're a long time dead! if he wants the floor cleaned, let him b****y do it, he is the one who never wipes his feet when in from the garden and traipses through to the loo upstairs, I keep telling him to get an extension with a loo downstairs but he won't bother! |

Because we look relatively ok, people don't realise the pain and discomfort or the lack of good sleep, I think for me that is the most debilitating, I could cope with the pain better if I had a good sleep. |

Well occupational therapist came out this week, got rails going in in cloakroom and bath and frame round toilet upstairs and padded toilet seats in both. Also rail at side of bed to help me get up and move in night. Hes also told me to apply for blue badge. |

Bless you Julie, horrible isn't it? My knees have been so bad but never sure if it is the fm or arthritis, as I have both in my knees and ankles. |

Hi. Never done this before but reading your comments has helped me understand this thing called Fibromyalgia. My GP told me that this is what I have but as I have had it for about 40 years not a lot can be done. I have ironed today, then made dinner and I feel as if I have done a 50 mile walk. Sorry if it sounds as if I am moaning but all my life | have looked after other people and now I cannot manage without my crutches and I must admit am propably frightened of the future. Any help through this link will be gratefully accepted. |

Barbara, well done for doing as much as you can when you can. All we can do on here is share experiences and suggestions for assistance in whatever guise, and to support each other when we are low. I am so fed up of not getting the right kind of sleep, that's the worst aspect of fm for me, I can cope with the pain if I can feel a bit refreshed but it rarely happens, and when you have an o.h. who doesn't understand and calls you lazy, it can be very upsetting. |
