Dawnieher3headaches Report 3 Mar 2009 20:08

hello all,
I have had a bad few days and really must learn to listen to my body, had dentist yesterday and today and has whacked me out so all the other things I need to get done have made me so tired and moody. I will learn to take it easy one day.

Am still waiting for letter form pain clinic so i can go tomy drs and come off the gabapentin which is what they reckon is putting on all the weight.
Will then go onto some others for my restless legs and hope they work.

Wasnt keen on going in for a day every 4 months and haveing an IV with something that sounded like lignicaine even though they say it has a good success rate, with the way our luck is at minute I would be the one that had seizures or heart went haywire.

Have been a good girl and been on the exercise bike everyday so far am managing 6 minutes at a steady rate, well steady for me slow for hubby.

Hope you are all ok.

d xx

that sounds like punishment exercise bike, i dont know about exercise,

you take it easy, dont feel guilty for doing your pace,

i fall into that trap, when i tried the physio in a swimmiing pool,
over did it,

i avoid dentist like the plague, i know it will make me shaky after and begrudge paying the amount they charge,
tho i desperately need my tooth sorted,

take it easy now dawnie

Hi Dawnie, do you think you might be tensing up anticipating how stressful it will be with your o.h. away from the house, and that causes more pain, I know if I am stressed my neck and shoulders tense and that goes up into my head so I am in a lot of pain and feel wooly headed. I hope you can get better pain relief sorted out but it all takes time doesn't it for things to start working.
Take care, try to eat a little to keep up your strength

love

Easily done Dawnie, I keep getting called Lazy by o.h. because I don't do much round the house, I can't do that and have any tiny bit of a life so I do what I want to do most of the time instead of what he expects me to do, you're a long time dead! if he wants the floor cleaned, let him b****y do it, he is the one who never wipes his feet when in from the garden and traipses through to the loo upstairs, I keep telling him to get an extension with a loo downstairs but he won't bother!
Hope you feel better soon and get some help.

hi liz

its hard living with the idea isnt it, that you cant do what you want, and that others think your ok to do it,

its my biggest problem, learning not to get mad and get on with it,
i suffer in long run,
but its hard not to

Because we look relatively ok, people don't realise the pain and discomfort or the lack of good sleep, I think for me that is the most debilitating, I could cope with the pain better if I had a good sleep.

Take care,

What are the symptoms off fibromyalgia please?

Dawnieher3headaches

Dawnieher3headaches Report 4 Apr 2009 20:26

Sue
there are so many best to look it up but theres widespread pain and they go on certain trigger points to diagnose it, it doesnt show up on blood tests. Fatigue, headaches, the pain in your body can be from burning to stabbing, poor concentration and forgetful ness we call it fibro fog and speech goes weird you know what you are menat to say but what comes out is all back to front ot doesnt make sense.

Hope that helps for starters

Wheelchair has been ordered and hubby and my dad are nagging me to get electric scooter as well so am on look out for one, going tohave to raid last of savings for it but hey ho if i get about will be worth it just trying to get brain round the sudden chamge in what i can do, at least this way wont be stuck inbed can get in fresh air without having to wear myself out or drive the car which I dont trust myself in now.

i think this is part of fybromyalgia, ive just been given iron tablets for anemia, been feeling dreadfull couldnt move for a few days got breathless and had to crawl up the stairs, starting to feel better now xx

Purple **^*Sparkly*^** Diamond Report 12 Apr 2009 03:41

Glad you are getting all those things, and a great idea to get an electric scooter, Dawnie, only take lessons from Puss with hers lol before you go far in it lol

Puss, I have had blood tests galore for iron and thyroid and my doctor keeps saying how remarkably healthy I seem when she sees the test results, but she knows I am tatt and can't seem to help me any further. So frustrating when my head wants to do so much and my body won't let me!
I think I need a slave who would act on my every command!
Take care all

Bless you Julie, horrible isn't it? My knees have been so bad but never sure if it is the fm or arthritis, as I have both in my knees and ankles.

Barbara Report 3 May 2009 23:09

Hi. Never done this before but reading your comments has helped me understand this thing called Fibromyalgia. My GP told me that this is what I have but as I have had it for about 40 years not a lot can be done. I have ironed today, then made dinner and I feel as if I have done a 50 mile walk. Sorry if it sounds as if I am moaning but all my life | have looked after other people and now I cannot manage without my crutches and I must admit am propably frightened of the future. Any help through this link will be gratefully accepted.

Barbara, well done for doing as much as you can when you can. All we can do on here is share experiences and suggestions for assistance in whatever guise, and to support each other when we are low. I am so fed up of not getting the right kind of sleep, that's the worst aspect of fm for me, I can cope with the pain if I can feel a bit refreshed but it rarely happens, and when you have an o.h. who doesn't understand and calls you lazy, it can be very upsetting.
You take care, treat yourself kindly and save some energy for things you like to do, not what you have to do, ironing can be cut to a minimum if you hang things up from the machine or line, I rarely iron things these days, the bed is still comfy, my clothes look ok and I save on the electricity too lol
