Hi, Can anyone tell me where I could obtain a photograph of a hospital in Leicester? Home Hospital, Princess Road, my gt uncle died there in 1915 Also, I wonder when this hospital disappeared?

From the details you have given it sounds like it could be the old "Fielding & Johnson Hospital " which stands on the corner of Regent Rd / Waterloo Way. and backs onto Princes Road. This Building has recently undergone renovations and turned into Office Blocks. . . So It wouldn't be any trouble for me to take a few snaps of it and send them on via e-mail to you.? MIKE.

Greeting’s Tracey. . . I had a look for Marriages For “ Tedds” 1899 ~ 1906. on the 1837 site. (I thought this would be a better name to search than Wright.) But drew a blank for Leicester or Leicestershire. These are the closest I could find:- Nottingham.1902. Nuneaton.1902. Coventry.1901. & 1902. Boston.1902. Atherstone.1901. And one in Thetford 1901. The only Alice Wright closest to her age on the 1891. Census. Was only aged 7. and living with her Parents in Belgrave Area of Leicester. Did Alice marry a “Tedds” then around 1901 ish ? and do you know the Surname of the Uncle ? If you post further details e.g. Christian names and dates I’ll have an other look for you. Greeting’s Again Tracey.. . St Georges would have been my 1st. choice. Then there was a Church,which stood next the Railway Station. But this was moved brick by brick (not sure when.) And rebuilt on University Road / New Walk. Now it‘s either. . St. Stephens or St. Christopher not sure. St. Martins. St Margaret’s. All Saint’s. St. Leonard’s. St. Luke’s. And there was a Congregational Church on Charles Street ? And the Methodist Church in Bishop Street. If I think of any more I’ll post them for you.

I am trying to trace the Bonds from Hinckley - there were lots I know, but the ones I am most interested in are: William 1797 born Warwickshire and wife Mary born 1808 somewhere in Derby (see the thread!). They moved to Hinckley in 1820s and had 10 children: Jemma 1829, Mary 1831, William 1832, Hannah 1833, John 1835, Alfred 1837, Elizabeth 1838, Helen 1839, Frederick 1842 and Imela(?) Could be Amelia/Emily? 1844 Anyone with info PLEASE help!! Sarah x

Hello Mike and thanks for the help. I am getting more confused! Where does this leave me in relation to where Mary was born (and what happened to her?!), as if she was born within the county, where would my Aithcoal near Church Greasley, Derbyshire be?! According to my family paper (which is proving ever more confusing) Mary died May 10 1861 - which I am unable to find a record of! Will keep at it! So if this ? ? ? village was on the border of Leicestershire / Derbyshire. Then the enumerator might have put a Y to simplify matters. Also Mary just might have been out visiting / Staying with a relative On the night of Sunday 30th. March. 1851. So at this stage I wouldn’t worry to much. Now I have found a Death for a Mary Bond in the year 1861. April Qrt. 1861. Mary Bond. Aston. Warwickshire. 6d.178. What year are we talking about for the Asylum list ? Some times they were called Workhouses. Yes I do have the 1861. Census of City & Leicestershire. both in Index and scanned images of returns. Was “ Farmer “ his Christian Name or Occupation ? MIKE.

Farmer Staniforth was his full name! Years for the asylum info would be mid - late 1800s, am going to leave that one for now, as I am getting completely confused, I know it was my gt grans aunt! I am just trying to go through my other grandmothers side now, and just to complicate things further I have found my gt grandmother married into her fathers family again - (Barwell also!) ooer!! Looking for info on Emily Hurdman lived in Parry St. number 26 in April 1911 could anyone throw a light on if she lived alone or where she came from as we have hit brick wall
