Hello Sue and All,
It's a long time since I posted on your thread although I sometimes read it.
It's very cold and windy with heavy rain here today, I haven't even bothered to go out, best place is at home.
How is Jayden doing Sue? I have been thinking about over the last day or two. Hope everything is OK with him now.
Hope you and your family have a great Christmas.
Sorry to know about Evelyn's OH, I will be thinking about them both. Hello to everyone else on here, hope you are all well.
Love, Sallie.x

Hi Everyone
Sallie Very nice to hear from you again,My Jayden is doing wonderfully well,you would not even know he had been burnt.
The scares are almost gone but some will stay with him always but he does not seem to mind. He has now finished School and is working in an engine shop that does lawn movers and all other small engine he loves it . It is hard to believe that he is now 17 and he looks so grown up .
I have got a few pressies now but I still have a long way to go before I am finished.
The weather is Ok for now as we have a Wedding to go to tomorrow up in Perth some drive away. I hate getting all dressed up in my finery and it gets hot on you ....so very pleased that tomorrow will be around the 28c mark not to cold and not to hot.
Oh is washing the car at present can't go to a Wedding with a dirty car can we.
Better get something on for dinner and I will drop back later. Noce to see my icons back again,they only seem to not be there when my page is telling me Error on page strange.

Hi Sue,
Wonderful news about Jayden! I'm so pleased for him and all of you. I can't get over that he's 17, left school and working. It just makes you realise how quickly time is going by.
Hope you have a lovely time at the wedding in Perth tomorrow. Have a safe journey.
I must try and get a bit more done towards Christmas, I was doing well, but since last week I've had a chest infection and pleurisy so haven't been able to do very much at all. It's slowly going now that I'm on antibiotics, thank goodness.
Speak to you soon.
Love, Sallie.x

Hello Salllie, nice to hear from you again. Do take care of yourself - pleurisy can be horrible I believe.
Sue....I think I have finished my shopping apart from a couple of odd things. I've wrapped everything as well. Just glad to get it all over and done with.
It's good to know that Jayden is doing so well.......how long ago was the accident? It seems ages..
Another weekend upon us.....doesn't time fly? Even retirement is passing quickly.... :-S
My friend who was so poorly has really improved over the last few months....until......she had a slight fall and has fractured her hip! She had it operated on last week and is doing really well. Just what she didn't need.
That dreadful weather from last has finally gone - well, the high winds have anyway - it's still damp but not pouring with rain thank goodness. It does rather look as though we will get snow at some stage....... :-(
Nearly bedtime for me. Hope you are all well.......Robert has been very quiet again.......ooooooh.....I wonder if he was blown away in his little shell? He could be bobbing about on the sea.......Robert, do let us know if you are alright --------
Love to all. Cx.

My word, we ARE a quiet bunch aren't we? Must be the Christmas shopping which is keeping everyone away........ :-D
I seem to have had a run of busy days and got myself all confused. I thought I was out tonight but, in fact, it's tomorrow night.....ah well.
Hoping things calm down soon - I like normal, gentle days.... :-D
The weather forecast for our area is dreadful overnight....rain/winds/rain/winds and then....wintry conditions......oh no!
Well, you've left me speechless......or talking to myself - not quite sure!
Take care all. Love. Cx.

Sorry that I've been so quiet - the worst of the shingles seems to be over and the pain has stopped and the rash is fading.
The decorator is in his third week and is in every room in the house! Total upheaval as I move things around to make room for him to work. Only painting around the windows, too. Conservatory next but had to get someone in to take down the blinds so that they would not get paint on them!
Made the Christmas cake today - looks good so far.
Haven't done any Christmas shopping to speak of (groceries only) as have agreed d-i-l will get presents for lovely grand daughters from me, as agreed, plus vouchers from Monsoon from their Uncle Simon. Have written quite a lot of cards today, too.
Had birthday last week - quiet day, lots of cards and phone calls. Just a wee bit older than you, Robert. Happy Birthday to you for the 25th. Hope the weather has turned a lot kinder for everyone by then.
Love to all <3 <3 <3 <3 Reece

Hi Everyone,
It's 20 cel, overcast and very Humid today,
I have just put up my Fake Christmas Tree, I would love to have a real one but as we all suffer from Hayfever not a good idea.
Sill unemployed, so do not have to worry about Christmas Shopping this year as I have no money to buy anything.
My Son has provided me with the money to buy the Christmas Ham and all the food I need for Christmas day, So having a stress free Christmas. Listening to Christmas Songs about the Snow while the Sun pours through my Windows.
A couple of weeks ago we hosted my OH's very distant Cousin and his wife from Kansas USA, we worked out that he is the 3rd cousin 4 times removed of OH's Great Great Great Grandmother. I discovered him here on Genes. They spent 8 weeks touring around Australia and New Zealand sightseeing and meeting in person an assortment of Cousins they had only previously had, had contact with online.
We had a wonderful weekend with them, showing of our lovely City which according to 'lonely Planet' is considered to be the 'Coolest Little Capital City in the World'. After they left us, they flew on to Honolulu and spend Thanksgiving at an Hawaiian luau before heading Home to Kansas for Christmas. where it is currently Snowing and the day time temp is not getting above zero.
While I would love to experience a White Christmas one day! I am happy to be celebrating Christmas where it is warm. :-) I have invited two young Canadian's to spend Christmas Day with us, My Son meet up with them earlier this year and befriended them. They are here on a year long working holiday and go home in March. So we are going to treat them to a Traditional 'kiwi Christmas'.
Am going to be serving Glazed Baked Ham and Roast Chicken with Potato Salad and Lettuce Salad and minted baby Peas and for Dessert we will have Pavlova with Kiwifriut and Strawberries, Ice cream, Jelly and a Berry Trifle. As alcohol does not go well with the medications one is forced to take in 'Old age' [I getting Older had a Birthday last week] :-0 :-( we will be drinking lot's of Sparkling Grape Juice and Tropical Fruit Punch.
Am planning to take our Dinning Room Table outside and putting up a couple of Beach Umbrellas if it does not rain on Christmas Day as it gets so humid and Hot around 28-29 cel here that it can be stifling with a lot of People inside.
Belated Birthday Greetings Reece.
Hope you are keeping Snug and Warm in Your Shell Robert. It's a good thing you live in England and not in Scotland like Poor Frank ,or you and your Shell would have been blown away by those terrible Gales they had in Scotland the other day.
Take care everyone, try not to let Christmas Stress you out to much, Catch you all later Josie

Hi Everyone
We had a lovely Wedding on the weekend it all went very well with no hickups to speak of,the Bride looked stunning as did my Nephew the Groom. It was nice to see all the family as we only seem to catch up with everyone at these type of things.
The last couple of days we have been having a lot of rain very unseasonal for this time of the year but then I think the weather all over the world has gone haywire the last few years .
It is cyclone weather now for the Northern patrs of OZ and sometimes they do come down South I would not be surprised if that did not happen as well this year.
Going chistmas shopping with my Daughter tomorrow so I should just about finish all my shopping then apart for the food I shall take care of that next week.
We have half of the outside lights up at the moment,it takes us a lot longer to do them now ,we shall turn them all on on Saturday night. We only do it for the kids and I must admit I get a bit of a kick out of it myself.
Well I better get off and get some dinner going ,I still have to feed him or he won't work for me.
Drop in later. Suex <3 <3 <3

Hello All,
Sue pleased to know that the wedding went well at the weekend. As you said the only time we get all members of the faimily together is at weddings, funerals and christenings, unfortunately.
Reece, glad to hear that you are recovering well from shingles. My sister-in-law had it a few years ago and I know that she was in a lot of pain with it.
Not sure when it was your birthday, so sending you belated wishes... I hope you had a lovely day.
Cynthia, how is the weather with you today? Hope it isn't as bad with you now as it as been. It's very windy and cold here in Derbyshire, also had some rain this afternoon.
~~~~~~to everyone else. hope you are all well.
Love, Sallie.x
My Christmas present came early this year.
I have been trying for some years through GR to find my cousins Robert & Peter Freeman. Thanks to a very kind gentleman who saw my latest attempt in September this year, I was given the address of Robert's daughter.
I sent a letter to her in September, giving her my email address and telephone number. Today I received an email.
Her reason for the delay in replying was she had had a baby and was naturally very busy.
Sadly my cousin Robert had passed away in 2009, but his brother Peter is still alive and she has passed my letter to him. I was hoping that they may have family photos of our grandmother and grandfather (he died before any of us were born). There are photos of my uncle (her grandfather) and other relatives and she is going to send them after Christmas.
Hi Everyone
I had a great day yesterday Christmas shopping and I got a lot done thank goodness I was so far behind with it all.
We have late night shopping tonight so the OH can come with me to finish off the last minute stuff. I still have one Grandson that is a little short of pressies.
Arthur that is wonderful news finding your rellie but sad that Robert was no longer here,I hope you all,catch up in the New Year...what a great Christmas Present !. I am very lucky to have had wonderful Grandparents and I have a lot of photos of all four of them and some great memories to go with them.
We are having some really nice weather at the moment not to hot so it is good for shopping . I hope we have a cool Christmas day ,they are saying about 27 c so it is still very manageable for a roast Turkey and pork for Christmas Dinner.
As I have said before we love Boxing day for the Test match ,this year we play India so that will be interesting.
Off out this morning ,I have to post off some very late Christmas cards.
Love to everyone Suex <3 <3 <3
Hi all
Belated Happy Birthday, Reece.
and also glad to hear that you are recovering.
we're having chilly but very dry weather here in Vancouver ....... only about 0.2 mm rain has fallen from Dec 1 to 12. The usual average is between 70 and 75 mm. November and December are our wettest months, and November only had about one-third of normal.
I think we now have everyhting for Christmas .............. the last present that I know about is on its way, and should arrive early next week.
I don't have to buy any food, as we are going away.
OH is busy making jellies etc ..... tonight he is making Seville Orange Marmalade, using fruit that we froze last February!
So far he has made about 36 jars of Quince Jelly, 30 jars of Crabapple Jelly, about 15 jars of Kiwifruit Jam, and 12 jars of Rhubarb and Ginger Jam. Most of them are in "fancy" jars for gift giving ....... with a few in less fancy jars for ourselves.
He'll be taking about 30 jars into the Garden tomorrow to give to the tohers who work there.
I used to make these, but he has taken over ....... all I do now is tell him when setting point has been reached, and then help him bottle the jelly!
Like me, he enjoys doing it .......... but it is quite hard work!
Take care everyone
Lucky Sylvia - not having to do any food shopping! My freezer is full to bursting not, I hasten to add just for Christmas, but in case we get snow like last year. :-(
Arthur - that's brilliant news, even though it was tinged with sadness, you must be so happy. Like Sue, I have lots of photos of my grandparents and I am really glad as they are fun to look at :-D
I seem to have had one of those week. I was hoping that tomorrow was going to be nice and quiet and then a friend rings to say she is coming over in the morning. Ah well. We should be grateful to have friends.
My friend with the fractured hip is doing well and hopes to be released from hospital next week. Amazing. Just amazing.
I just can't imagine Christmas in the heat Sue, it seems really odd. Mind you, you don't have to worry about being snowed in on the day do you :-D
I really must remember to get the Christmas tree up soon. Would probably have done it tomorrow morning......but.........
Anyway, it's nearly bedtime again. Love to all. Cx. <3 <3
Hi all xx
and especially the petunia in the onion patch :-) :-) :-) :-)
It's sort of greyish, sun trying to break through, and warmish (around 10C) here.
I meant to say earlier ........ how lovely to see Josie posting on here.!
Sorry to hear that there's still no job showing up for you, but how kind of your son!
You'll be showing those Canadians a very different Christmas than they're used to!
