Hi all


another hot sunny day .................25.5C in the shade in the backyard at 9:50am. Over 30C forecast again for the afternoon

Daughter wants to go to Ikea. Leaving in a few minutes


Back home for lunch, then find somewhere cool for the afternoon and evening

Guess where?



Like Rene ........ sweaty nights, trying to get cool with the fan.

Woke up about 5:00 am this morning, saw OH had pulled a BLANKET up over him.

Realised I didn't feel too well.

Realised fan had been turned down to setting one.

Turned fan up to 2.

Drank 8 oz water.

Felt much better.

I was dehydrated!

He said "I felt cold in the middle of the night so I turned the fan down and got the blanket".

I swore silently!!!!

You need 'air-con' !!

I have 2 portable air-conditioners which are truly 'wonderfull' !!

I only need them for about 2 weeks per year but when the heat comes they are invaluable !!

One upstairs and one downstairs, they do the whole house !!

You should get some !!

yea, I know!

Daughter has one at her house, she just moves it up or downstairs as needed.


Problem is ............ all the ones that I have seen over here are for windows that open up and down

every single one of our windows slides across


If we are going to pay to have windows replaced ................ we might as well get air conditioning installed.



But as I've said, it is only in the last 2 or 3 years that we have had days and days of hot weather. It used to be a couple of days at about 25 or 26C, then back to the "normal" 22/23C

Enjoyed my time at the dentist. He has a tv in the ceiling so I just lay back and............watched the news! He keeps looking up to see what's on and I was pointing and going ....... "ug goooo ug huh" as one does. Mind you, I now look as though I have had a stroke and eating my meal was entertaining as I dribbled and slobbered my way through it. Nice........not.


Daughter has gone to her brother's for a couple of days. I'm just taking OH to do a bit of work and I'll nip to Tesco. Back later.

Although we use to smoke in out old house wish we did'nt now. when we had the pub we did'nt smoke in the living accomadation only in the bar.

There will be 5 smokers here tomorrow only my 13 year old does'nt smoke...well I hope she does'nt

OH does not like air-conditioning - even in car - as he always has all windows open '

We have ceiling fans in the house - which he says pull in the air thru open windows - I did say - but suppose the air is hot - are we them pulling in hot air - he said - Women are never happy - always too hot or cold !!!!

Actually we only use the fans for about 3 - 4 weeks a year and then only for 4- 5 hours
Sylvia I agree with your OH I wake up about 5.00 am - chilly - must confess I never figured Canada to be so hot

The temperature will start to drop over next couple of weeks - they are forecasting tropical storms over next couple of days - hopefully will cool down and RAIN - Ginny I look even funnier dancing in the beautiful rain in my underwear - Magic
