always used to be sufficient to change it ......as long as you weren't doing it for any nefarious purposes.

Cant see a marriage for him in his birth name....but then if he had any sense he would'nt get married and end up like his dad and half brother and shack up with a barmaid lol

A friend of mine changed her name to her stepfathers when she was a teenager...now she has children of her own her new name is listed as her maiden name...how confusing is that going to be for researchers in the future
