Im having real problems trying to tie bits together and find a Canadian link - and would be grateful for any assistance.
William Gadd born 1875 Kirkee East India ( parents Moses and Bridget Gadd lived in Cobham Surrey ).
I have found him on an immigration list going from Canada to Sweet Grass Montana in Oct 1913.
He is listed as either having stayed with or going to stay with the REV JAMES J GADD IN VANCOUVER CANADA.
I need to say more than a few hail mary's as trying to find the rev is a nightmare and turning the air blue lol!!!
Is there anyway of finding out where abouts the rev was preaching?
I have found a couple of James J Gadds on ancestry - doesnt say if they were revs or not - please see below, would be grateful if anyone could help me out with any info - will remember you in my prayers lol!!
Many Thanks Em xx
British Columbia Death Index: 1872 to 1979 about John James Gadd Name: John James Gadd Gender: Male Age: 97 Death Date: 6 Apr 1972 Place of Death: Nanaimo Registration #: 1972-09-005363 BCA #: B13316 GSU #: 2034299

I found attestation papers joining the WW1 Canadian Overseas Expeditionery Force on collectionscanada...occupation steel worker, born in Kirkee, India...
Name: GADD, WILLIAM J Regimental number(s): 36103Reference: RG 150, Accession 1992-93/166, Box 3348 - 60 Date of Birth: 19/08/1875
Is anyone able to help me find what happened to William - did he stay in Canada? When did the rev die? Would love to know about William - my link to WW1

Hi Lorraine, Thanks once again for doing this, Alexander's sister's name was Margaret Good, she went to Canada in 1905 with husband and children and living in Ontario. The passenger list you found looks quite promising but I have never been able to find a marraige for Alexander in Scotland.

Hi lorraine, thanks for the offer. My gt gt grandfather william cushion walker was born in 1849/50 to william walker and sarah nee cushion somewhere in mississippi. The odd thing is they (william and sarah) were married in the UK in 1849, apparently travelled to america and are back on the 1851 uk census with young william. I haven't been able to find either their passage or his birth details, so anything would be fantastic. Regards Linda :)

Dear Lorraine I have an Eva Jane Skelton (Holland) born 1882 Berkshire. I understand she emigrated to Canada in the late 1950s and died in Oct 1965 in Sark. Canada but have no evidence can you help? Her daughter Eva Annie Tweddell (Skelton/Williamson) had emigrated in Jul 1954 to Saskatchewan, Canada with her husband Frank and two children Marion and Roger. She died in Fort Qu'Appelle in 1997, Frank had passed away in 1977. Roger changed his name to Roger Daniel Williamson in 1996 and i think died the next year. Marion died in July 1999. Any information/evidence you could help with would be of a great help. Stephen

Hi Lorrain, re my Patrick J Grant, that sounds very hopeful. Only thing I've got for him I'm afraid is a record of his birth.
He was born in Belfast June 1878. He is the brother of my ggrandmother Julia Grant born October 1879. Mother and father Owen Grant and Ann Carroll.
I had heard that Julia emigrated to America but I haven't been able to find anything on her. She may have been married before she went if she did go to the States of course and I have no married name. She lived in Glasgow 1903 and her address given as Glasgow Caledonian Central Station hotel where she was a domestic servant.
many thanks to you looks like it could be him. Could you give me a way of following up that entry? Margaret

Hi Lorraine, I wonder if you have access to the 1930 census for U,S.A. I am looking for Arthur Good b. 1903 Scotland and died 1982 in Florida. I know he emigrated to Canada , he is on the 1911 Census there with his family, then went to the states, not sure when, his brother went in 1922 maybe he went with him then, any information on him would be great. thank you jean His brother's name is Edward Good, b. 1897 scotland.

Lorraine, do you think there's any way of finding a place of birth for that Patrick J Grant? I know he was born Belfast and his exact date of birth is 15 July 1878.
many thanks for your time, you're a star doing all those look-ups - well done. Everyone so appreciative of your efforts.
