I have just received the marriage certificate for William's parents, his mam is down as Mary Elizabeth Sloan, Dressmaker, her dad is down as Edward Sloan, Labourer. William's dad is down as Thomas Dowsey, Widower, Fireman, although on his son William's birth cert. he is down as Mariner, his dad is down as Wiliam Dowsey, Mariner. I wondered if Thomas could have been married to a lady called Mary Agnus Donaldson first because she died aged just 21, she had a son Henry in 1869. A lady sent me her tree to look at and she matches except for Thomas's wife, she has her down as Mary Agnus Donaldson c1850 and I have her down as Mary Elizabeth Sloan. If you can help it would be greatly appreciated.

This i believe is your William...surname has been mispelt on the image.
Now what is not clear on the image is whether Roger is William's father?Roger is listed as Blind and unmarried.Also unsure of the relationship of Martha to William i found a poss christening record for her which listed her mother as Sarah Breathen.I do think its poss that this Joseph is father of Roger and the William on the previous record..1822 William.
