Thanks for looking for me,I will be ordering the 1829 as you suggest,but the problem I have been having is i can't even find the son Richard on a census after his birth in 1830 or before his marriage in 1863.This son died in 1890 registered in Lambeth and was married in Lambeth.
The whole bunch of them are missing including the son Richard who was alive in 1841
It's very strange!
The only thing I can think of is that they were travellers or something like that.

I have a family of Goodwins from Kent who keep using the same names and I'd like to sort out who belongs to whom so could I please ask for a census search? I am currently trawling through Medway City Ark to confirm baptisms etc. so far I have discovered the following:



1) Richard Dennis Goodwin born possibly Meopham, Kent c1800. Wife Sarah. Their children included : Ann, Elizabeth, Eleanor, Caroline, Richard Dennis, Adelaide and Thomas - all born between 1820-1834.


2) Richard Goodwin born 1790 in Meopham, Kent. Wife Susan. Their children included: Richard, Thomas, Ann, Elizabeth, William, JOhn, Edward, Harriett, Sarah, and Mary - all born between 1815-1837.



3) Richard born probably Meopham similar time. wife Mary. Possible chldren Harriett 1844 and Mary 1851. Very unsure about this chappie as you can tell.

Some of the forebears seem to have originated from Ash in Kent and Hartley in Kent but all ended up in Meopham!!! Just to confuse me I think!

I am hoping a census search will put them into place for me. Very grateful. Thanks.

Thankyou for your offer to do Census Lookups, I am hoping you can help me as I have exhausted all my abilities at going through the Census.

I am looking for the whereabouts of a Thomas Anslemn Ribchester, he was born in 1843 and his parents were James John Ribchester and Alice Winstanley, I have found him on the Census up until 1861, after that he married in 1864 a Mary Donaldson, they had three children Margaret born in 1865 and died in 1868, John born in 1866 and Isabella Annie born in 1868 died in 1871.

Both Margaret and Isabella Annie died, the last to die was Isabella Annie born 1868 and died in March 1871. I have found the boy John living in 1871 with Mary nee Donaldsons sister Flora Harrison and her husband, but I can't seem to find where Thomas and Mary were in 1871, Isabella Annie died in Broughton, Preston March 1871 so I would assume they would be somewhere in that area but I can't for the life of me find a record of it on the Census.

As you do this Census Search, I am hoping it will be a lot easier for you than me to find them, if you can't find them then I don't think anyone can.

Couldn't see a Thomas Ribchester on the 1861 matching this 1.Infact only Thomas Ribchester's that show on the 1861 is your one and one in Cumberland and i have found the death for the Cumberland 1.

So not good news re 1871...im afraid if the piece is missing..not alot you can do.

Do you have Mary wife of Thomas's birthyear and place?I wonder if she remarried and need her details to check this.

Re the missing pieces looked on 2 ref sites and they missing on both.I should imagine they were lost or maybe destroyed at some point.

Best people to ask would be the Lancashire Records Office.

I found a Mary Ribchester marrying ages ago but wasn't sure if it was her, I now believe it could be her but what happened to Thomas, is he the Thomas who died in Sunderland and why was he there.

I have Mary Donalsdons birth as 1845 AMJ Vol 25 Page 210
2nd marriage to James John Holmes 1874 JFM Vol 8e Page 726 or PRESTON/56/28.

On the 1861 Census with Mary's family are brothers Thomas & Joseph Holmes RG/9/3170

On 1881 Census Mary & James with two children RG/11/4605.

On 1891 Census Mary & James with 3 children RG/12/3664

If this is Thomas' Mary, why didn't she collect her son John from her sister Flora when she remarried. We think as Flora was childless she deceided to leave John with her and restart a new life.

Thats as far as I have got, I should be looking for a death of Mary and try and trace her children if in fact it is her.

Ok...well i can see why you may have found this 1 a tricky 1!!They are not showing under Ruler...on the 1861 the image looks like Ruler to me but is transcribed as Rider..on the 1851 is clearly down as Rider.So you may think...well it must be Rider then..and therefore wrong people,BUT i have looked futher into this and found the marriage of 1842 and her middlename is Burnett and the 1851 i have found with the Rider surname has Elizabeth Bt written down...appreviation of Burnett.Robert's birthyear you have is out...he married in 1842..and was born c1823.
