Just reading the mC Beaton books about the travelling matchmaker, very light reading and reminiscent of Georgette Heyer, except with not as much depth, very small books though, finished in one sitting

I'm reading a book called New York by Edward Rutherfurd. It's based on the history of New York from 1664 to 2001. It's interesting because I found out where some of the names have come from.

I read 'The Worst Street in London' a while back - the history of Spitalfields, centred around Dorset Street. Very interesting, as some of my ancestors came from that area.

Just downloaded the Cedar Cove set of books to my Kindle by Debbie Macomber after reading the reviews on here. I spoke to my husband while he was watching the Formula 1race and he ignored me, now it has finished and I am trying to read my new book and he wants to tell me about every second of the race!!

Hi Patricia -Ann,

I tried a sample of the first Blossom Street book and I am going to download those after I have finished the Cedar Cove ones. I like easy reading interspersed with something a bit heavier now and again.

Now reading Bread and Chocolate by Philippa Gregory (from Library) was looking for Thw Other Queen,, not on the shelves, but this one was.
Dudn't realise till I started to read it the it is a book of short stories!!! Don't usually read short stories and wouuld not have got it if I had known. However.. it is a really goos read.

Recently finished Cloud Atlas by David Mitchell. The only other book by him that I have read is Black Swan Green. Cloud Atlas is nothing like it. In fact it could have been written by a different person.

This a a very strange story and took a little getting in to. However I think that it is well worth reading all the way to the end. Things do eventually make sense.

I'm really stuck with War and Peace, it has taken me 3 weeks to read 220 pages. That is just into the 3rd book.

I don't know whether to carry on, with the hope that it gets better, or have a break and read my grandsons Ben10 books.
