I have just started Mrs.Tuesday's Departure by Suzanne Anderson

Its about two sisters who seem to be life long rivals, they hide an abandoned child from the Nazis...their decption resurrects the scars of a star crossed love triangle that threatens their safety and tests the bonds of their loyalty....

Having read about 5 chapters of this novel and it being the first novel for the author im totally hooked..... :-)

I've started reading Moby Dick as it's one of those books I feel I should have read!! Enjoying it so far :-D

Have just finished "Restoration" by Rose Tremain. It's the story of Robert Merivel, a physician, and how he is favoured by King Charles II, falls from grace and at the end is restored to favour in the King's eyes.

I found it a strange book as I kept feeling I was missing the point of it - I kept thinking there was some message that wasn't getting through to me. I also found it hard to sympathise with any of the main characters or to care very much what happened to them, except for a couple of the women.

Have just started Philippa Gregory's "Virgin Earth".

I am about to start reading "Back Story" an autobiography by David Mitchell (a gift from Santa).

Just finished Secrets of the Tides, by Hannah Richell. It's about a family whose youngest child tragically drowns, and the secrets that come out in the aftermath. It was very well written - a debut novel. It can be a bit depressing at times, but comes to a positive conclusion.

Well have finished 'My Turn' by Norman Wisdom,
such a sad early life.
Enjoyed the book so if you like autobiographies go
for it.

Started reading 'Stairlift to Heaven' by Terry Ravenscroft,
he used to write for comedians like Les Dawson etc.
Have only read a few pages about how he feels at 70 years
of age and his wife who he calls 'The Trouble', she starts every
sentence with 'The trouble' with you is...... or 'The trouble' is.....
he goes on to speak of his bladder examination and that was a
laugh out loud moment, OH transferred this book from his kindle
to mine as he thought I would enjoy it, and if it goes on in this vein
I certainly will.

Finished the Secret Keeper by Kate Morton...can highly recommend it.

Now about midway through New York by Edward Rutherford..I just LOVE his books !!! This one is no exception...paid full price for it on the Kindle courtesy of an amazon giftcard for Christmas...about to order an Elizabeth Chadwick to use the rest up on..but am having trouble deciding which for now lol x

I'm being a bit of a flippertigibett with my reading matter! I love James Lee Burke and downloaded Creole Belle but as there is always an amount of violence in his books, I can only read it by day as if I read it late at night, I feel disturbed :-) So, for night time reading, I downloaded, on advice of Amazon readers..pffftttt....'Dance While You Can' by Susan Lewis. Has anyone else read this? It irritated me so much I haven't gone past page 6 :-D

So have gone back to a favourite writer of mine, Margartet Drabble and am enjoying (both night and day!) 'The Seven Sisters'.

Im reading Neverwood by Jane Sanderson....Its a great read upto now , very much like Upstairs,Downstairs/Downton Abbey .......

Just finished Caravans and Wedding Bands by Eva Petulengro, which is the follow up to Girl in the Painted Caravan. I love to read about Romanies and their way of life.

Dandy in the Underworld, by Sebastian Horsley. Autobiography not for the faint hearted (or narrow minded)! :-D

Oh I liked Girl in a painted caravan so will look out for the sequel.

Geordie Im really enjoying Netherwood, have you read her other one Ravenscliffe, im thinking of getting this on my kindle too :-)
