Ann
Yes sometimes it's difficult to remember when there are lots of easy to use lovely embellishments about.
The other thing that I think might affect things over time is double sided sellotape.
I know I've had some that has deteriorated over time.
Ah so much to think about!!!
Take care
Von

Ooh really I use a lot of double sided tape.

Oh me too -I always use my tape runner thingy
omg I do love using sparkles they look great - even the tiny bits I leave them to dry overnight and in the morning they look fab - I need now to have the confidence to use in a bigger space than just one dot lol (Rick is getting very worried about me lol)

I've found tape runners to be ok Scatty, it's really cheap DST that tends to be a problem some will show through after a time.

I tend not to worry too much about my scrapbooks but that is because they are first and for most for me but obviously if you are aiming to create something that will last as I assume is the case with family history scrapbooks it is worth being careful about what you put on your pages.

Thanks Sarah. I do use the cheap DS tape but only on my scrap books that will probably not be kept after I depart this earth.

Jan, go on, be adventurous, put a flower on the page, a large flower with a large glittery centre. I actually don'y usually glitter too much. I have used glitter on my title letters on a snow page though, that is effective.

Rick is right to be worried. Is he better now?

Oooh thank you Sarah...I have had a quick google and the inks are just what I am looking for...brilliant! Well not just a quick google I am afraid as I started looking around the craft site and I found some pretty flowers I have not seen before...I just love using flowers!! Hmmm now where did I put my purse lol.

Thanks for that Von...I do try to buy most scrappy things acid free...however I never gave a thought about the copious amount of ribbon and flowers I use!!

I came back from shopping to a nice surprise the set of punches from QVC had arrived , they are the Martha Steward ones that were on special value on Wednesday . How's that for quick service? I shall enjoy playing with them over the weekend.

Have made 6 cards this week so I am hoping now to do some scrap pages.

I've got to make some cards before I can do any more scrapping. I need a birthday card, wedding card and an anniversary card for next friday, saturday and sunday but taking into acount posting etc I need to make them now. Problem is i have no real idea what to do. I've bought a sticker topper for the wedding card so that's kind of sorted it's just the other two

AnninGlos Report 12 Feb 2010 16:19

Tricky, is a it a special anniversary? Special birthday? Male/female?

SarahSalopianScrapper

SarahSalopianScrapper Report 12 Feb 2010 16:55

I think I've got them sorted now. The anniversary one i have gone for a variation on one of my standard card designs; patterned background, ribbon across and sentiment. The birthday card, for my oldest friend, I remembered I bought some diecut card blanks so have decorated a cupcake for her.
I'm now just looking for the right background for the wedding card

Apparently the first quarterly scrapbook inspirations is due out in March. Might be worth a look to see if/how they have altered it, must admit I had gotten back into it towards the end having gone off it for a while. Although I did buy every issue from the first, have got rid of most of them mind due to lack of space

I find it very hard to part with magazines but have to occasionally. My Quick cards made easy I can pass on to my daughter But I like to keep the scrapbook magazines for inspiration. It is not like card magazines where you can cut out ideas as I like to browse the, I have just bundled up my family history magazines ready to offer on freecycle when I get around to it.

SarahSalopianScrapper

SarahSalopianScrapper Report 12 Feb 2010 17:19

The only magazines I keep at present are Craft Stamper and Scrapbook Trends. Instead I have an idea book, actually a dry mount photo album, and stick things that inspire me in there. I tend to clip out LOs that I like, sketches and the odd article

AnninGlos

AnninGlos Report 12 Feb 2010 17:42

Good idea Sarah, what is a dry mount photo album exactly.. Is it just pages you mount on with no 'polythene' or whatever to cover the photos?

SarahSalopianScrapper

SarahSalopianScrapper Report 12 Feb 2010 18:03

that's the sort I mean Ann. Bonus is that it looks pretty and the tissue designed to keep the photos apart gives extra space for adding bits and pieces.

Have now made a total of five cards today, so tomorrow I can scrap :) Would scrap tonight but think I'm going to add them to my blog and then curl up with my knitting

Sarah, I can't believe you have made so many cards in one day, lolol!! It has taken me all afternoon to make one card.... one measly little card, lolol...... and the page I got the inspiration from said 20 minutes.

Yeh right! Lololol.... it was very good fun though.... and no glitter... well, not strictly true.... I used glitter sheets for the hearts... but that is just not the same as glitter... it doesn't get everywhere for a start.

Of course, I didn't have half the stuff, so needed to improvise.... *sigh*

I had it looking just so... and then couldn't resist adding more bling..... If I could, I would remove it, but lesson learnt

Now all I have to do is write in it...... oh, and I must get some stronger A4 white and cream card ;¬)) I have needed to re-inforce the back of the card. Well... I have written the inscription on a second piece, and will glue that on tomorrow, which will be the strengthener.

R will be speechless, I am sure... now he is the exact opposite to me... he is very much a less is more person, lol! Best he is impressed with it, or I shall never make him another.

Mind, I am already planning our anniversary card, lol

This is all very good fun, thank you Ann, for introducing me to it!

Love

Daff xxxx
