We’re changing the name of Genes Connected to Genes Reunited and wanted you to be the first to know. Most people call it that already, so we’ve finally given in. Don’t worry it’s still the same site and you will still be able to access the site from GenesConnected. Hope you continue to enjoy the site. We’re spending the summer making it even better! Michelle

I hate to disagree, but I've not seen or heard anyone else refer to the site as genes Reunited. I understand why you're doing it, as a branding exercise, and so long as the content doesn't change, I guess we don't really care. I'll Just have to start referrring to GR rather than GC

ooooooh - not sure I approve ;o) May we still refer to you affectionately as GC or will we need to call you GR(rrr)?

as long as its not like when they took the cream out of the jammie dodgers and pretended it had never been there

I also have never heard anyone refer to the site as genes reunited. For what its worth, I think it's a daft name. You can reunite people, but not genes (not outside of a testtube anyway). I will still call it GC.

I have never heard it called 'Genes Reunited' before and anyway, most of us refer to it as GC. There seems to be no good reason to change the name at all. Please leave it as it is.

How do we know this is not another hoax? I cant see anything on Home page saying this, or am I just being paranoid?

Hmmmmm, you could be right Tammie. Since when have GC informed us that they are doing anything to the site? Jeanette

Sorry, don't like that idea, i like it as genes connected, its about connecting family history, unlike friends reunited where you are trying to find people you lost contact with.at school etc sandra at genes connected

i think genes connected is better.even though it might not bother me for much longer as i was very unhappy to see a past thread removed about maxine carr removed.this to me is a general topic and should have not been removed!

I have NEVER heard anyone call it genes reunited. I can reunite with friends but can only connect with genes. Perhaps some expert on DNA will correct me on this or explain! Pat

Well, the message is signed with the correct name - maybe she just makes up a dummy membership to enable her to post. To be honest, the site name doesn't matter. We will still be the same and so will the content. Grrrrrrrr is more appropriate anyway! Maz. XX
