Hi Everyone... Not really much happening here...the garden is a bit too muddy to do much there although my husband did manage to weed eat (like using a petrol strimmer) the lawn....trouble is he tends to go a bit near to the plants!!!!! Still Gerberas are lovely at this time of year....if I can keep him away from them that is. The dogs all get a bit fearful when the wind blows hard but luckily it has been calmer the last day or say and the rain is less at the moment....lots more sunshine but as already said it is always hot all year round. I don't know what it is like to wear something with sleeves anymore! Well that's it for now, sorry not very interesting but I enjoy reading what you are all up to. Jacquie xxxx

Hi everyone, Its a bit overcast this morning but dry, I hope the sun manages to come out soon. I think I may go and get some bedding plants today, I haven't been round a garden center for a week or two. Brenda, I'm pleased you have a B&M in Manchester now, they do have some very good bargains. B&M started in Blackpool and Matalan in Bamber Bridge, they have both done very well for themselves. I hope your ankle is better, I have found mules can be dangerous if they are a bit loose fitting. Sylvia v O, I hope the weatherman is right, its about time you got some warmer eather. I'm sure your daughter and son in law will appreciate a meal out, my family loves going out for a meal, we seem to be able to talk easier then, instead of someone having to keep going into the kitchen. Judy, I hope we get a summer to go through before we reach winter. In this country, weatherwise, nothing is guaranteed. Jacq, I wouldn't mind having some of your hot weather, I cant make up my mind what to dress in each day, one day it is cold and the next hot, well warm anyway. To all that I haven't spoken to recently, I hope you are well, hope to speak soon. June xx

Hi everybody, I thought I might be first this morning, but no several have beaten me to it. Still a dull overcast day, so am going to try out my new breadmaking machine and maybe also make a cake. I'm not expecting visitors. Next Sunday is Fathers Day so then we'll have visitors for sure. There is one consolation with having this wet weather and that is my flowers on the balcony are really looking gorgeous without too much bother backwards and forwards with the watering can. Mother Nature can be kind sometimes without us appreciating it. I was watching the bumble bees going backwards and forwards into a crevice this morning and was wondering how it is they don't suffocate in that small crevice. Mother Nature giving the helping hand again I'm sure. My son in law whom we visited yesterday was saying a cat had climbed into a tree in their front garden and broken some branches off so he had to trim it up. Maybe the cat was after the blackbirds in another tree in their front garden. Rather sad as the blackbird has been frightened off and left her eggs. Well enough chatter for now, let's get down to the baking. Have a nice Sunday everybody - the sun will shine again - honest! Sylvia xxx

Hi all Not a lot happening here in lovely Tassie. We have had a fair bit of rain the last couple of days, we got 19 mm where I am and other parts of the state got as much as 55 mm from 9 am Friday until 3 pm Saturday. But like always the central part of the state where it is the dryest and they need the rain the most only got a few mm. Today we had a fine day but more rain is forcast over the next few days, typical for the Queens birthday long weekend that we have rain, but we mustnt complain as it is needed. The children are ready to go back to school on Tuesday, and I am ready too :-) not that they have been bad, but with this weather they are probably better off a school as they cant do much at home these days. Well I hope everyone is fine I do like reading all about your adventures. Bye for now

Just a quicky folks... June we are lucky here (most of the time) weather wise as I said always around 28 degrees or hotter! but we do get the rain as well which keeps the Island green and pretty. The dry season is never that long without some little bit of rain. Enjoy the Garden Centre.....once again I envy you that! Have a good day one and all. Jacquie x

hi everyone, was coming on here earlier but was doing some ironing and as I have a busy day tomorrow carried on a bit longer to make sure I had a few things ready, like June has said I too never know what to wear until the last minute,so I usually do a pair of pants and two tops one with short and one with long sleeves ,just in case. The iron seemed a little cool when I started to iron at first then I realised I had not plugged it in ,it was on the extention lead which was plugged in behind the sofa,or so I thought.!!! Have loads of emails today for some reason ,so must reply tp a few tonight,. I am so pleased that we have more friends with us ,no matter what you have to write it does give us,well me anyway an insight into other people and places. Take care ,Brenda

Good morning Judy,it sounds to me as though you need a one way system ,and a couple of parking bays in front of your fire, you could do with a third pet to act as a parking attendant ,i was in stitches when i read about it ,who needs a telly .lol. Looks like being another wet start to the week ,but i'm not bothered ,i only have one more week at the hospital ,and then i'm free again ,with no worries about having to be back at a certain time for appointments. It looks as hough i am on shopping detail today ,Liz has'nt done any for a week ,and that sounds ominous ,we could be on a marathon shopping spree ,the only thing is deciding wether to take the trailer ,or take two cars [the son as well].hope everyone is having a good day.will be back later.Fred.PtfA&G&G&S.

Morning/Afternoon/Evening All Still not sure if I am first or last replying,it is 1.45p.m. here in NZ (14th)so some of you will be in the land of nod and others clearing away the breakfast dishes.Never fails to amaze me the wonders of modern technology, goodness knows what our ancestors would make of it !! The rain continues to come down here, ho hum. Fred,as the weather has become colder here there has been a truce over positions in front of the fireplace, live and let live, one thing Ripley and Anna have in common is cats and dogs do not do rain no matter the old saying - raining cats & dogs !! I sympathise with your chore of shopping, with the cost of food these days I reckon you need insurance cover just getting the goods to the car. Hope you are all well JudyNZ

Perhaps some of you have hibernated for the Winter. If so, I don't blame you. Must go now, see you again soon. Love from Sylvia in Perth WA XX

Hi everyone, Its raining here today and it did most of yesterday too. I was really bored yesterday, my computer still isn't right, so I am transferring everything on to my laptop, and I will use that in future. We will still get the computer sorted, because it will be useful for the ones playing games. I went to Sainsbury's yesterday instead of my usual Asda but I wont be going there again for a while, I can never go there and get all my shopping, the shelves are never full. so its back to Asda from now on. Sylvia v O, I hope the breadmaking went well and that you are happy with your new breadmaker. Sue, I agree if you are having rain, the children are best off at school. Jacqui, I didn't make it to the Garden Center after all, I decided on Sunday that they would be busy and that the best plants would have been taken, I have been so occupied trying to get my computer fixed. I will try to go later this week. Brenda, With all this rain, we certainly know what to wear now. Fred, I hope you have got all your shopping done now, and more goodies for the BBQ. Judy, I often wonder what our ancestors would make of all the changes too. Things have changed so much in my lifetime and things I have taken for granted, wouldn't have even been thought of in their day. Sylvia Oz, It is cold and miserable here too. I hope you and Norman are keeping well. Kathleen, Jude, Elisabeth, Ann and everyone, I hope you are all well. Speak again soon. Take care. June xx

Hello one and all We went to Wellington on Saturday for a family funeral and returned to Auckland yesterday (Tuesday). There was a big turn-out for my brother-in-law's farewell which was followed by afternoon refreshments held where he had worked. The weather for travelling on both of these days was quite good and the Desert Road in the middle of the North Island was open, usually snow and ice closes this road so going there and back was good. There was good dumping of snow on the mountains, we wanted to get some photos but the clouds covered the peaks. Today we have fine weather in Auckland - clear sky meaning the washing will get dry. Hi All FNW'S Well it is still raining here, we had some heavy showers during the night, and expecting the rain to stay till the weekend. It is a cool 10 degrees at the moment. Talk about having a CRAFT moment this morning. I went to do the groceries and when I went to pay for the groceries from my bank account via eftpos, I firstly keyed in the wrong number then I couldnt remember what the right one was. So I had to leave my groceries sitting there and I went across to the bank to withdraw the money and I thought I would try it once more using the banks eftpos machine before I went into the bank and low and behold I got it right :-) Didnt I feel like a goose when I went back to pay for the groceries. After that I picked up a friend and we went and visited an elderly friend who has just gone into a home, as she was living on her own and had a fall damaging her spine which made it hard to look after herself. She is also suffering from short term memory loss. So her family thought it would be best, and our friend is quite happy with the idea of being in the home. She is 91 in August, she got a lovely shock when we arrived with a lovely bunch of flowers. Her reply was that she thought we would all forget about her now that she was in a home, silly woman we would never do that. It was nice to see her and she did look happy and contented with her new home. Brenda I hope you have got rid of your tummy upset. Sylvia in W.A. enjoy your day tomorrow (Thursday). Thinking of everyone in NZ with the wet weather, at least we are sharing he he. Anyway I must go and do a bit of housework before I forget that :-))) I hope everyone is fine, catch you next time.

Hi everyone. We have a dry day today, I'm hoping the sun will come out later. Yesterday, I did manage to get the washing dry outside after all. We ended up spending over 2 hours at the local hospital, my son in law had had a fall at work. He's home now, in a lot of pain with a cracked rib. Brenda, I hope your tum is better now, thats probably why you were so cold although it has been like winter lately. John, I'm glad you had a good journey, what a pity you weren't able to take some photos, next time maybe. Sue, I too have moments like that, when I cant remember my PIN number, the more you think, the worse it gets, I'm sure the girls at the cash out are used to it happening. Has anyone heard from Kathleen lately, I hope she is ok. Sylvia v O, I hope everything is fine with you too. Take care everyone. June (Off to do the jobs we should have done yesterday)

Afternoon all,its cold and wet again here, but it stayed dry while i was out so that was ok. Bought some new underwear in the sale, and got some lovelly old photos at the library.had lunch with some friends and a glass of wine or two which has made me very tired.!!! Still haven't got dad a pressie for fathers day, will have to look again on Friday . have to put the spuds on for tea, jersey royals, with baked porked steaks and roasted veggies. Sus and June my tummy was ok after I had had a dose of indegestion mixture and warm water, think the tea cakes could have been too spicy. should have had a walk round the Arndale ,which is a big shopping Mall ,but just wanted to get home as I was feeling so tired. Might get back later ,if my son isn't on here too late. Brenda

Hi everybody, Sorry for not writing for a few days. No excuse! Today I went out in my white trousers and apple green top and apple green check overblouse to the shops, but this afternoon I had to go to the doctors and was lucky to get home dry. Am I never going to be able to wear my summer clothes this year? Just think apple green won't be the fashionable colour next year! I went to the doctors as I have had a pain in my left elbow for some months and it has worsened rather than got better. I now have to go to the physiotherapist. I also have a nasty spot on my right shoulder which won't heal so I have to go to the dermatologist. Just minor things, but things which I've been meaning to tell the doctor about for a long time and haven't. My bread making with the new machine is going good. I've now made a white and a dark brown bread. Now this Sunday is Fathers Day, but in our household Mother is going to be spoilt as well, well why not I say? My eldest daughter phoned me and asked me to book a table at the local Greek restaurant, but I must not tell Johan as it is his Fathers Day surprise! I love this Greek restaurant, and always wish I could eat more, but now I am older find I can only manage 2 small starters. Every day they promise us sunny weather, but it is cold, cold, cold. I have washed up all our winter jackets and managed to get them dry. Oh well, that's about enough from me for today then, have a nice evening boys and girls Sylvia xxx

Hi Brenda & FNW Well the rain has stopped for awhile but it is still very bleak and cold here with snow on the distant mountains, fortunately we don't ever have snow here but do get some heavy frosts from time to time. John.sorry to hear of your family bereavement, at least your journey was not made worse by the usual dumping of snow on the Desert Road. Are you still involved with singing in the choir ? Sue,so glad to hear that the fellowship of CRAFT is still alive and well !! I know that horrible moment when the mind goes blank re pin number for eftpos, seems everyone stares and the blushes begin. Brenda, glad to hear the tummy upset has gone,I have found the best cure for indigestion is 1tspn bicarb in glass of warm water, drink glass full without a break and to heck with modesty if you feel like burping go right ahead. I'm sure the undies will make you feel better also, nothing like a treat. Sylvia v O,Hope your elbow isn't giving you trouble for too long these things can be so frustrating. We celebrate Fathers Day here in September, wish I could join you at the Greek restaurant, sounds yummy. Kind regards to All JudyNZ

Hi all, Well a miserable looking day, and everyday we are promised 30 degrees. Well 25 will be ok for me! My left elbow has been giving me a lot of pain today. It made me feel so tired that I lay down and slept for a while. Not like me to sleep in the afternoon, but I always say if you're tired then your body is telling you to sleep. I 'phoned the physiotherapist but the boy I like is on holiday. I could have taken another, but have decided to wait for 'my boy'. I also phoned the dermatologist and have an appointment in July. I changed the beds and the bedding is hanging on the balcony. I'll ask Johan to get it in in a moment. Tomorrow is market day. Maybe we'll have sun. Today I have made endives, which I've cooked first, otherwise they are too hard and rolled them in ham, put a cheese sauce and lots of cheese over and in the oven. I'm serving these with potatoe puree and baked tomatoes. Anyone for dinner? Yesterday I tried a new recipe with salmon. It was salmon, green beans, red pepper, onion in dill and carrot sauce, served with potatoes. I didn't like the combination of green beans with salmon, but Johan did. I don't think I'll be doing that recipe again though. Well have a nice evening everybody, Sylvia xxx
