Hi everybody, What weather, rain, gales, thunder, lightning, hail, what no snow, well not yet! We have the central heating on again as it is so cold. My bread machine has broken down so have to go out and buy another one this week. We also want a new telephone system with several handsets which you can carry around with you. Can buy these in one shop thank goodness. I have been catching up with some letter writing today - well it's Sunday! Tomorrow am going to sample my grandsons cooking. He is doing his examination tomorrow (he wants to be a cook) and we try his cooking! My ex son in law is picking us up and my granddaughter is coming too. Yesterday we were invited by neighbours for drinks and Annemie and Frans were there too so we had an enjoyable evening and were brought up to date with what has been happening whilst we were on holiday. We have to clear our kitchen tomorrow as Annemie's husband, Frans, is going to whitewash our ceiling and walls in the kitchen. That will be another job done. I want to rearrange a few things too. Fred, if you are reading this thread, then I have to tell you that those recipes came over all black and I couldn't read very much. Anyway, thanks for trying. Sending greetings to Jude, June, Brenda, Kathleen, Fred, and anybody else my senile mind has forgotten. Till tomorrow. Sylvia xxx |

Hi everyone, We have had lovely weather here today, but dont ask me what I ahve been doing, I am trying to remember, the day as flown and I have been doing menial tasks all day. Where have all our Ozzie friends gone? JA seems to be the only one to come and see us. Brenda, I bet it was warm without the fans, I like to find a film or photos of the snow, that helps to cool me down. Sylvia, You seem to be having problems with your electrical equipment, quite an expensive year for you. I dont think they build things to last nowadays. Jude, I hope you enjoyed the footie, Iwould love to come to the Welsh meet but I am afraid its a bit far for me to travel. I am very disappointed to see the Manchester Meet is at Leeds in August, I know they have to try and suit everyone but unfortunately from where I live, we have to go through Manchester to get to Leeds, so it makes it a very long day. I haven't seen anything of Elizabeth either, I know she was wondering whether or not to renew, I wish her well, whatever she has decided. I too send my regards to all friends, old and new. June xx |

Hi everyone, This really is going to be just a few words to say hello. It is very late, cold and has been raining for the past couple of hours. Not been a bad day though, some cloud but lots of brightness in between, none too warm though. Hope to be able to post a longer message later. Meantime hope everyone is well. God bless Love Kathleen |

Hi All Im just grabbing this computer while I can as it is school holidays over here and I have the children home wanting to catch up with all their friends online. Well we have got the rain that has been promised for a while, I isnt much just showers but at least it is something. It seems like some have got a long weekend this weekend. Well we have got to wait for next weekend for our Queens Birthday long weekend, probably to fit in with the school holidays so the children go back on Tuesday not Monday :-(( and that way the teachers still get the holiday too, lol. Well not much else has happened in my quiet neighbourhood, apart for an AFL football match was here yesterday, I didnt go as my team wasnt playing, but they did get a good turn up considering it was a cold 13 degrees with a chilly breeze. I hope that everyone on here are well. Catch you all later. |

Hello Everyone, I'm sorry I don't get on here very often, but I will pop in whenever I can. It is a long weekend holiday here in WA. I think it is Foundation Day. We have had a severe weather warning this morning so thought I would get on to the computer while I could. If it starts thundering and lightning, I will have to disconnect it. Last time we had a storm it struck my modem and I had to have a new one, thankfully I am insured. Hope you are all enjoying good weather wherever you are. I will see you all again soon, love from Sylvia in Western Australia.XX |

Hi Brenda and Everyone, Judy NZ, Pam, Kathleen, Mystery Visitor, Sue from Tassie, Sylvia W.A. and Sylvia v O. Its nice to see you all back. I thought I had upset you, lol Its a lovely sunny day again here, I'll have to hunt out some washing, cant let this good drying weather go to waste. I have now finished entering all my new found rellies, it was like reading a good book, I am now sorry I have finished it. I think I will send for another CD from Lds, I did get a lot of information from that. Judy, your message seemed to spur one or two to reply. Not that they have to, its just so nice to hear from you all. Pam, I hope you enjoyed your long weekend and that the grandchildren didn't tire you out too much. What ages are they? Kathleen, I hope your weather is better today and that Susan is feeling better too. Sue, Its strange how we all seem to have long weekends at different times, at least you have yours to look forward to. Sylvia W. A., I hope the storms aren't too bad, you are wise to unplug your computer, your insurance premiums will probably go up if you keep claiming. Sylvia v O, its not like you not to have added a message, I hope you are alright? Brenda, Are you off partying again, lol Fred, ??? Speak tomorrow, June xx |

Evening all... Sorry I have been missing for a while - I don't come on the computer much these days. When I have looked into the thread there are so many new names! I am very busy in the garden, trying to do battle with a plague of bindweed which is taking over my rose beds. It nearly choked my roses last year and I am doing my best to remove it. I don't fancy clearing the whole of the beds to kill it - the roses are too pretty. (I blame a load of horse manure I had a couple of years ago!) We are busy with the wedding planning and have been discussing what music to have at the reception. We think a string quartet would be nice. We don't need a disco as the function will end at about 7 pm. The venue is now booked so that is one hurdle over. We need to do some decorating at home too, before the invasion of the new 'in-laws'. I hope everyone is well - especially Kathleen's Susan. Back to the battle of the bindweed! Love Elisabeth x |

Hi all, Yes, a bit late, but better late than never I suppose. We've had quite a nice day, albeit windy and cold, but at least it has been dry and sunny. Actually hung some washing out which I don't very often do. Managed to iron it this afternoon. Johan has been preparing the kitchen for Annemie's husband to come and whitewash it tomorrow, so things are all topsy turvy once again. We are going to change the kitchen around a little and renew some old things. This evening we had a 4-course meal prepared by our grandson for his exam at school. He did very well. He came and served the sweet himself, or at least just for me, they were profiteroles with hot chocolate sauce. I really felt someone special with him doing that. His father was served by the boy serving our table, so was his sister and Johan. I could have cried at this personal gesture of his. He also had four glasses of Madeira served at our table to go in the oxtail soup. Nobody else had this either. It's a wonder I can type with all the alcohol I've just had. First a couple of sherries, then two glasses of red wine, then the Madeira, wow! Now that's all there is for now, see you tomorrow. Sylvia xxx |

Hello everyone, I had to go to page 4 to find you, where is everyone. I hope it isn't us Aussie lot that has put every one off. We don't get our Queens birthday long weekend till this one coming up. Not that it makes much difference to me, as we are retired. We prefer to go out during the week when there are not as many people about. Tomorrow is shopping and doctor day, so I won't be looking in tomorrow. My nephew and his son arrive tonight for a short holiday. I have never seen my gt nephew and he is 5 now. They live in Adelaide a flight of over 2 hours. or a 3 - 4 day drive. They are going to all the theme parks, Sea World and Movie World and maybe Dreamworld if they get the time. I probably won't see much of them. They will be staying with my dad, who lives in a granny cabin on our property. 4 generations of us. I must remember to get a photo of us for my family tree. Well, i must go now, i am trying to put off the ironing a bit longer. Take care every one Susan |

Morning All,glad everyone is feeling good, with nice weather over here and long weekends down under. We don't get a long weekend for the Queens birthday,we have two Bank holidays in May for one May day and one which is just Spring Bank holiday. The next one will be at the end of August and is known as August bank holiday. Then nothing until Christmas. It seems the other countries in Europe get a lot more than we do. The weather is good here today ,hope it stays that way.Have to put some washing out before going to work at 12.30pm. I must remember to write down what you have been saying in your messages as it is the only way I can remember who has said what ,so I can do a reply to each of you. Going to get some breakfast and a cup of tea now.Might see you tonight ,if I am not to tired from work and my son is finshed on here. Take care ,Brenda |

Hi everyone, Its a lovely sunny day here again, as I usually say 'A lovely day for going to the Lake District' I have nothing exciting to report, just been doing the usual shopping, housework etc. Elisabeth, Its lovely to hear from you again. Its too nice outside at the moment to be inside on the computer. Then with the wedding coming up, you have plenty to do., as well as looking after your elder ladies. Sylvia v O, what a lovely grandson you have. It would have reduced me to tears too. It sounds as though he has a bright future ahead of him. Susan, Of course you Aussie lot haven't put anyone off, we are happy to have you. This thread often slips down a bit, I just put Friends and Neighbours in the search and it pops up soon enough. I too dont bother going far at weekend, I prefer going in the week when it is quieter. Enjoy your visitors. Marly, Lovely to hear from you again, I dont know how you people with work and a family, find time to come on here, it must be hectic for you. How are the GPs? Any signs of babies? Fred still hasn't been on, I hope he and Liz are alright. I can now hear movement, so I had better leave now. Take care everyone. June xx |

Hi Brenda & FNW Thought I'd lost you all.page 7 !!! Don't know where all the 'orphans' are but this little 'orphan' has had a few busy days working on her tree. Some of my lot are being very evasive, still with the weather being so cold and miserable, what better way to spend the time. Susan,it isn't until you mention travelling times that one realises how vast a country OZ is. How lovely to have 4 generations together at one time,it happened for me once (would have been 5 but my gt.g.Grandmother was still in the UK)Unfortunately I had never given genealogy much thought at the time so missed a golden opportunity for learning more. Now I realise the importance of handing down something for the family and who knows many many years from now I'll be at the top of someone's tree !! Quote:'You get too soon old and too late smart'. Hello Everyone Sorry not been for a couple of days...not much happening at the moment. The weather has not been good, into the wet season now and Hurricane season started on June 1st.....so far so good!!! Today started off wet but brightened up, didn't manage to get in the garden though too muddy!!!! I have to start getting ready for visitors at the end of June. My cousin from Wales is sending his son with 2 friends to us for 3 weeks....a sort of end of exams holiday... the friends have never been abroad so they are very excited. Nathaniel my cousins son has been here before so he knows the ropes. All three of them speak Welsh as well as English and fully intend to teach me some Welsh so hopefully I will be able to say goodmorning in Welsh by the time they leave!!!!! It's 10.19pm here at the moment, my husband is tucked up in bed with a cold!!! Hope I don't catch it. Well folks that's it from a not quite so sunny Grenada but still very Hot!!!! Jacquie xxxx |

Morning all ,i am back on line after my computer threw a wobbler and went on strike.I am quite proud of myself cause i repaired it all by my little self, although it took me two days instead of a few hours, lol.I have lost a few of my messenger contacts though, peeps ,so please if any of you out there ,don't hear from me on messenger ,i'm not ignoring you ,i need you to send me an invite again ,nudge, nudge wink ,wink ,you know what i mean [breaks into song and falls off the puter chair]. I missed everyone on here ,the first night was terrible ,i could'nt sleep ,and knew it was a waste of time getting out of bed becuse me puter was bust ,it was awful ,i don't know how many puters ,covered in bandages i counted but i was feeling a bit keyed up by morning he he. I see we had a visit while i was away by an aussie troll, ignore him everyone and he may slide back into the woodwork. I'm off for a wander round the boards ,but i should be back later, have a good day everyone.Fred.PtfA&G&G&S. |
