Hello again. Great thread Peter. Sally Sand-Dancer has just reminded me about the Newcastle meet up in the early summer. I said I would organise it. Still willing to do so, with the help of Sally and hopefully a few others. . As there are a lot of Geordies scattered all about the country, I think the earlier the better to start it all off. So to just get an idea of the best month at first, will start the thread after posting this. July, apart from the first week is totally out for me I am afraid. Without going into too much detail. I am pretty sure I can get a few rooms that will hold four people, two double beds at a well known Hotel Company, at about £19 a night per room. Will tell you all later. Jenny.

This thread has made me very homesick too... I'm 3700 miles from Durham, how far away have the other ex-pat Geordies/Wearsiders wandered? All together now.... 'Ooohhh me lads, yer should a seen us ganning passin the folks along the rode just as they wer stannin aal the lads and lassies there aal had smilin faces ganning along the Scotswood roooode, t'see the Blaydon Races'! Anyone remember... 'Hush lads had yer gobs, I'll tell yer aal an ahful story, hush lads had yer gobs, I'll tell yer aboot the woorm.!' Oh, sweet memories, Brenda

Karen and Jenny, you did make me laugh! Karen, just sent your joke to my sister, a Makem supporter--she was not amused! Magi--you have 250 kids?! Isn't that a world record?? I can't make either meet, Jenny, sorry--I am so sad to be missing out! I can't get up yem any other time but July or last week in August. Maybe we could have a little meet just for little me?? Ah'll tell yer wor Ah cannut stand--it's bliddy southerners doon here where Ah live tryin ter imitate me accent like, and then gannin 'I can do a really good Geordie accent!'! I did mention this on another thread so forgive me if you've heard it twice, but my little charge (I'm a nanny) made me so proud today--she told me 'when I grow up I want to be a Geordie'! I'm sure her posh southerner parents will be delighted--especially when they realise that I've taught her little 2 year old brother to say Howay man!'

Sally, we will arrange a 'very special mini meet' just for you. It looks like there are a lot of us within easy reach of The Toon. Dont worry, you shall not miss out. Jennyx

Thanks Jenny and Karen! I just texted your joke to my sister, Karen...she's not talking to me now! I can't keep up here--too many Geordie threads (Geordies takin on the world!), texting my sister and Geordie cousins Karen's jokes, and now I've noticed I've got two messages...probably offended mackems seeking revenge...

Aah, Jenny Pet, divvent let life get er down. It could be worse--you could be a mackem! I'm in the dumps too. Had a crap week at work, hate my job, and am in a lot of pain. But I came in from work, dumped my bags, forgot dinner and shower and came on here to chat with my pals! Now I'm starving, grubby, and am staring at a very untidy sitting room, a pile of laundry and I still haven't made my bed...but I've had a good natter with you and Karen's made me laugh out loud! Whatever your worries are, i hope smoother times are round the corner for you. And we are definitely on for that coffee--can't wait! Sal.X
