Ann.....I won't vote as not sure if I can get any of these....but have read both Animal Farm and War of the Worlds and can recommend them as a good read. H.G Wells came from my neck of the woods....Woking in Surrey and it is mentioned in the book... Jacquie xxx PS. Have a note from the Post Office....1 parcel arrived!!!! hi Jacqui, i wonder which it is. Ooh the excitement. just reading about HG Wells in the paper. apparently he was a racist and didn't respect women, was horrible to those he married, not a nice man at all. Yoohoo - ~~ Mike waves to everyone~~ I saw HRH Lynda's thread with you all waving - it was a real tonic- you are all brilliant and especially those who have kept the Book Club going. xx The late flurry of votes, here and direct, have certainly changed the outcome. Ann.....one parcel has arrived...from Dee. A lovely suprise the books look right up my street...you lovely people. The Binding Chair by Kathryn Harrison and Patricia Cornwall's Trace....my favourite!
