Thought we could start a little community. I'm also a member on their site, but the threads there don't get nudged up like they do here which is really rubbish if you ask me. I started in March, I've lost 18.5lbs - I put on a pound this week, not very impressed with myself. I'm a picky eater, extremely picky and I'm trying the NC diet cos on FC I'll get too obsessive. But I don't like many vegetables or fruits and finding it hard not to be starving. I hate salads so I ca'nt even make one of those up. SO WE HAVE A FEW MEMBERS FOR OUR LITTLE GROUP. FEEL FREE TO JOIN IN!

Hi Chole. I havent done WW for years, but i have heard it has changed. What is FC and HC? what is the new diet like? deb

McDitzy Report 6 Jul 2005 20:37

NC stands for No Count. You can eat as many of the No Count foods as you like, and have a point balance of 21 for one week for non no count food. You're supposed to have three full meals a day and no be hungry - but I struggle with it cos I'm so picky with what I eat. FC - Full Choice - basically you could every single thing you eat. Everything on this diet has points, and you're allowed a certain amount of points per day. I don't entirely understand this one though. It is a good diet plan - I just want to eat lots of nice things that I can't have on either diet, well in the quantity that I want them! LOL.

HI Chole. Its sounds a mixture of 2 diets to me. Amount of points per day, is the WW programme i did a couple of years ago. The other one is just like Slimming world. I prefer the latter and you can eat certain types of food all day. Might be good for you that one if you havent already tried it. deb

Thanks Deborah. Two reasons why I won't try the other one. I don't understand it. I've read the book, still don't entirely get it AND I have a past of being obsessive about my weight and counting calories, the no count suits me because I don't need to count them... does that make sense?

Deb

Deb Report 6 Jul 2005 20:47

HI Chole. Yes it does make sense. If you have read slimming world book, believe me it does get easier once your into it. And as you may realise there is no counting of cals at all. Good luck and keep strong deb

I did the slimming world diet, and I did get obsessive on it. But I stopped myself before I was too silly, and then put on all of this weight and I'm trying to lose it sensibly and not noticing that I am dieting.... thanks though Deborah. :-) Chloe

McDitzy Report 6 Jul 2005 21:01

Lesley - not meaning to make you feel guilty, but do you want to try and do a weekly 'weigh in' on here - we don't need to mention the weight we are now, but if we've lost/gained anything? Maybe give each other advice too.... just an idea. Chloe PS - Weight Watchers - it's free to participate on the message boards, you don't have to be a member (go to meetings) at all.

I am a Weight Watcher and have been for about 2 years. I have lost 71 lbs (5st 1lb). I do the Full Choice, tried the No Count when it came out in the New Year, but it didnt do for me , having been counting points for so long it is now a way of life. I have still a long way to go, I was a very very large lady !!! Lost one and half pounds last week. Crossing my fingers for my next Weigh In ( Tuesday) as I am going out on a 'girlie' trip on Friday in Harrogate, retail therapy and lunch out !!!. Will have to say NO !! Pat

Deborah, Weight Watchers No Count is not like the Slimmers World Diet. You can only eat the 'no count' foods in your three daily meals. Anything you eat between meals has to come from your points. Chloe, I did really well for the first few weeks and lost half a stone. Last week I had gained half a pound. I was so cross and disappointed as I felt I had done really well and was able to fit into clothes I thought would not fit me this summer. Hoping for a better result tomorrow. I enjoy fruit and veg. but I have a very sweet tooth. Anything with honey, chocolate and nuts leads me astray. I'm doing the points system as on this I can have a sandwich at lunch time. Hope you have a better week this week, Rosemary(Essex)

Cool, so the group is on, and hopefully it'll get bigger. My weigh in is Wednesdays. Is anyone else really picky with their food, or am I the only one? Looking forward to losing more weight with you guys. Chloe (feeling more positive today)

Hi Chloe never been 'on a diet' before. I will need help in what I can and cannot eat. I do not eat sweet things so that is not a problem! I feel I need to lose about 10lbs. Annexx

McDitzy

McDitzy Report 7 Jul 2005 20:23

That's great Anne and Jean. Have you had a look at the Weight Watchers website? Or even if you don't want to go by their diet, we could still just do a weigh in every week and see how people are doing, and the tips to avoid naughty foods.... You don't like sweet things! You're so lucky, Anne! x So far, Maisie, Lady, Bev, Jean and Anne. And myself!
