Because it's relevant at the moment - people who phone up, complain that they haven't heard from me for awhile and then ask me when am I coming over for a visit. Apparently the distance from their house to mine is further than my house to theirs. I hate one way friendships but don't seem to be able to do more than make excuses as to why I haven't been over to visit recently (and, yes, I'm feeling really peeved at the moment!!!). Susan |

Susan - absolutely ! My sister is the same - I get the odd phone call now and then (fair enough, I don't often ring her), and she always says... 'you never come to see us'. I think she's been to see us once in the last 2 years... |

people who do not speak when i greet them when it is their turn to be served. people who start to txt or talk whilst they are being served (no i will not pack your bags whilst you are on your phone) people who do not say ANYTHING from start to finish when i serve them. people who tut, mumble, look at their watch whilst i have a nice person who does realize that i am a human being trying to be helpful and pleasant whilst serving, because i am talking does not mean that i am going any slower than if i was not talking. people who let doors go as you walk through people who do not say thankyou when hold doors open for them. people who reprimand you for being rude when they have not heard your answer cause they were not listening.(it can be very noisy at work with background music and tannoy announcements). they just asume that you have not said please or thankyou. i would never pull anyone up just for that, to me i would be just as rude as them (or i have not heard them!) queue jumpers. people who tell you to smile, it is not very often i dont (whether i want to or not) but now and again i am not well or something has happoened at home and i am worried, then i dont feel like smiling. i am allowed not to now and again. last one - ME, after reading back that lot. it is a wonder i have any one who likes me. lol tina x |

A minor one. (and apologies to anyone who's done this on the board, it's not a dig, but it does irritate me lol) The general populace (and, to a certain extent, the filmmakers) referring to the new 'The Lion the witch and the Wardrobe' film as NARNIA. what are they going to call the next film - Narnia 2 ? |

Scraping the barrel for irritations now Paul! lol It's called The Chronicles of Narnia - The Lion The Witch and The Wardrobe. Are we to type the whole title? Alternatives then? Daisy |

personally, I refer to it as 'the lion the witch and the wardrobe' :o) Haven't been to see it yet :o( We went to see a film while we were in NY, but we'd just missed it, so we saw 'Memoirs of a Geisha' instead. Then on Christmas Eve we decided to go and see it - when we got there, we'd missed the start by 15 mins, so went to see King Kong instead ! |

I don't know. People being irritating irritates me lol :-) What annoys my dad is people stopping in a busy supermarket and having a conversation whilst blocking the aisle. |

Paul - is Memoirs of a Geisha based on the book Geisha of Gion? What did you think of it? Daisy |

I've corrected my typing errors, especially for you CB lol Daisy - yes it's as adaptation of the book, which I haven't read so I can't really make a comparison. The film was OK (beautifully shot), not the sort of film I'd usually go and see, but there wasn't much on, we were froze and just wanted to sit down for a couple of hours lol |

1 people who end every sentence with 'do you know what I mean' 2 adverts that are miles louder than the tv programme they appear in 3 feature films shown either side of the evening news 4 people who you invite over for xmas, and go out of your way to cater for (to the extent of having the house altered to accommodate their disabilities and buying furniture to suit them), who drop out at the last minute for no reason and then sulk because they've been on their own as if its your fault (said with feeling) 5 families who own 5 cars and take every single space in the residents' car parking area so you have to walk miles to get to your front door - or who wait for you to go out in your car, run outside and move one of their cars into the empty space before you've even got to the end of the road 6 people who play games on mobile phones on the train with the sound up And many more Angela |

People who walk down the middle of the road (or in todays case, car park (no car anywhere near)), when there's a perfectly adequate pathway down the side of it ... |

forgot about this thread ! Time to resurect it... Today moan... People who don't wear seatbelts when they're driving. WHY ??? Why would you not ???? It's not just the young boy racer types either... I often see people with no seaybelts and it seems to be a complete cross section. Saw a woman of about 35 today driving a car with no seatbelt, and she had 3 kids in the car, all in childseats... so if she has a crash, the kids should be Ok, but she could end up dead... where's the sense in that ? |

People who use mobile phones whilst driving. HATE it ... and want to report every single one of them to the police. Biggest culprit ... my daughter, who, if she hadn't been driving at the time, would have got the sharpest slap she's ever had the other day. PLEASE IGNORE your mobile whilst your driving :-( Elaine :-) |

Someone taking the last parking space when I am in a hurry Shoppers having discussions in the middle of the aisles. Mothers screaming at children (more nuisance than the child) Items I want being on the top shelf Items advertised, but not available and shelf is empty mostly shopping ones it seems..... |

How convenient that this has resurfaced - I was about to compose a post about the following. I don't have a dog, never wanted one, or a cat either. They smell and houses that dogs and cats live in smell of them, which is fine if you don't mind but I do. Pets also moult and I hate housework so don't want to hoover the furniture on a daily basis.. So why do people who know how I feel bring their dogs when they come to see me without even asking if I mind? A friend called yesterday with her 'new' rescue dog. As yet it is untrained and seems to think it's OK to climb on my furniture and leave hair. Not the dog's fault. I pushed it down as politely as I could and it sat and licked its bits for a while. Then it decided I was its bestest friend and jumped up and tried to lick me. How gross is that? My friend was a bit miffed when I yelled at it to get off me but for goodness sake would anyone want that tongue near them? Yuk yuk and double yuk. Gwynne |
