Good evening all . . . well wasn't meant to be tonight either . . . We had a lttle win - one line that read 3 11 21 33 41 41 Dont know what div that is but guess we will find out when Ray goes for the paper in the morning. Actually, I only got the numbers thanks to Joods - must have dozed off in the chair reading while the lovely Ray was watching THE BILL! We cooked a lovely curry for dinner - good cold weather tucka! Joods, we had wippetts (?) at the Nursing home in Beaudesert, they have had them there for over 15 years, Wongaburra Aged Care is a unique place - it is owned entirely by the residents of the town - of course it has to meet all the standards to get funding, but it has a lovely country town atmosphere, and gets so much support from the community. Many a time I've had to step over a dog in a hallway - they just used to roam freely - not on leads. Was really great for the folks there as most of them were off farms. We broke a lot of the rules there, we, at the respite centre used to combine with the residents of the NH for lots of social events - being such a small town, most of them were old friends so it worked well. Sounds like you are going to be very busy Mary, fingers crossed for you! Sounds like you have had a good night Tony and Lara . . . . Did they give you any idea of when they expect the van to be ready for you Lara ???? Lyn, the lovely Ray tells everyone that our kids wouldn't leave home, so we did . . . our youngest (27) has just moved out of our home in Qld, and got a place of his own, funny how they still dictate so much of our lives no matter how old they are. Suppose thats why my Dad still had a 4bedroom house up till he was 89 - always had a bed for the kids if they needed it. Re Loopy Lou (Sandra)'s request for help trying to locate unknown family . . . I have come up with a few families that have those christian names in common - but none that she can identify as hers - when I get back to normal I will trry looking locally at council records - anyone else found anything promising ??? Well its time for bed so will catch you all tomorrow cheers luv Laurie |

Morning Wattlers, nasty frost here, but the sun is now burning it off, so it should be quite a nice day. Planted some more grasses and flax yesterday and spent the afternoon mulching. Terry has just been in the fishpond putting in some plants. Needless to say, he has now had to have a hot shower! Couldn't wait for it to warm up a bit, noooo, had to do it straight away! How did Katherine go, Anna. I'd love to be able to sing, but I take pity on others and leave my singing to the shower. Thank goodness we're on 25 acres and the neighbours aren't close. Queen Trifley, I don't think the nubian brought us much luck. Hope it wasn't the curse of the mummies!! How you feeling Jood? I'm sorry you didn't have any visitors in the hospital. If I'd known that I have zipped down. I like the idea of the dogs visiting. They're just so faithful. Tony and Lara, why is it that you two are shouting? Tassie, did you make it out for your walk yet or are you waiting for the weather to be a little kinder? Now can someone please answer my original question - who is going to Brisvegas? Hi to Flakey, Laurie, Shaz, Wilson, Rebs, Lyn, Jill, Pam, SuzyQ, Vonny, Sandra, Mary, Heather, Gwenda, Jude 3 and, of course, Carol & JulieCat in the UK. Hope you all have a wonderfully fantastic day. Lew Lew xxx (26!) |

Nice sunny day here, I said it was cold earlier, but that was like 6.30am .. its now 9.15, and time I should think about eating. .. Geez I always ate at 6.30 before. Wakey wakey Wattlers, rise'n shine .. a beautiful day going to waste. Jood |

Good morning, Another cold morning, but no frost again, the sun is shining and there is a cold breeze. I didn't suffer any strange effects from Neville's pill, had to laugh though, glad he doesn't take viagra, who knows what could have happened. pmsl. Mary good luck with the house sale. I am not much of a hoarder, but Neville is. Our shed is 60 x 20 and we can't get the car in. In the old days when tips were open, he would bring more home than he took. Lew Lew, I am going to the Brissie meet but now I am not sure about Neville. his broncitis isn't getting any better, and he is up coughing through the night. I will get him back to the docs tomorrow and we will just see how he feel closer to Saturday. Devily, it didn't even get to 20 in our house yesterday, freezing. brrrrrrrrr. This morning it was 10 indoors. Well it's warmed up a bit now, so I will go for my shower. Catch you all later Luv SuzyQ |

Good Morning....:>)) Nice sunny morning here also in Mal-born ( as the Yanks would say )..lol Sorry bout the shouting last night, but Lara and myself being a couple of vocal Magpie footy followers....weez cant help owselves.Plus we won, and whipping the Brissie lions is kinda special......:>)) Well all the En-suite tiles are up, so its off to Bunnings to buy some floor tiles today. We live only half a km from our Bunnings, and its nice and handy just to browse through. Did some Bus and train checking from Heathrow to Bloomsbury ( central London ) last night on the Net, as this is where we will be staying in London. Seems that the Piccadilly line goes to Russell Square or even Euston Station from Heathrow, and a 55 min trip overall. We could get a Taxi from the Airport....but at 65 Quid, a bit expensive me thinks. Not a winner last night with our Lotto, but there's always next week.....Sue (Tassie ) has already sent me next Saturday night Lotto, so will post off to all early. Joodle. Hope your feeling a bit better mate, and any others that are not the best. ( Eat more Garlic, its good for ya.....lol ) Well me Kilt is pressed, and me Sporan is hanging proudly ( as all good Tassel's should ) and me Farkle stick is as shiny as i can get it, with only a cuppla weeks to go before we take off into the wild blue yonder, so turn up the heat Scotland...cos we is coming for a wee dram of single malt Scots whisky. Och..aye. Well Bunnings is calling, and its time to shell out a quid. Av a good un. Tony Oz...:>)) |

Funny you should say 'Bunnings is calling' Tony .. my sister in Perth says 'I think I hear Ikea calling' - she likes to brouse around. .. The huge Ikea in Sydney is just a bit far to drive from where I am, so I usually wait till I go to Perth and my sister hears Ikea calling .. we go running! Every time I say the cough is better, it starts off again. .. But I did do a few more things this morning before I sat down. .. I'll get up later and .. well probably look at the mess and sit down again (hahaha) Everyone must be getting excited about their oncoming trips .. the Brissie Meet, Tony's O-seas Trip, and whoever else is going away. .. Oh, of course, Lara. When we were into 4WDriving, I don't think I had a winter home in about 4 years, bit hard to take, now, and I'm envious of all you people holidaying up in the warmer climates! Only sensible thing to do, really! Now Suzy that anitibiotic tablet you took instead of Norm could have been the very dose to make him better! .. Just kidding mate. .. Hope he gets better soon, he's been unwell for a lonnnng time. Jood |

Morning all, lovely day here. Mary, hope the house gets sold quickly for you. Lyn, we've had three kids back to live with us PLUS their spouses!! The latest was my eldest son and his wife who both did a Uni course for 31/2 years. They just finished Uni last week. At the moment they are house-sitting but we are minding their furniture! We actually rearranged our house and gave them 2 rooms and a sep bathroom and toilet that could be closed off. Certainly was a learning experience sharing a house after all this time! having a nice slow and quiet day today. ~~~~~~~~~Vonny |

You don't want to go there Jood. That site was actually set up by one of the suspended lot. They have been having fun over there at the expense of GR members. Posting hurtful pictures, making nasty comments, making plans to cause mayhem here when they are allowed to return. Unfortunately, the site being posted on gen and becoming public knowledge may have caused grief for someone else. Some people just don't think !!! Grrrrr |

Morning Rebs, Joodles and any other Wattler not out in the sunshine. What is it with some peeps? Why do they have to be nasty and want to cause trouble? Stupid children of unwed parents! Anywho..... It's sunny here on the coast but a little on the cool side. I am thinking layers of clothes will be the go for me in Brisvegas. I'll just peel as the day gets warmer, then put it all back on towards evening. Mark has a young lady, from Melbourne, visiting him this weekend and he is bringing her home to meet us this arvo before Graeme goes to work. I'd better put my 'Dianne' personality on.....she'd nefer understand a Pharaoh Queen with a Nubian man-servant...pmsl. I'll be back later and let you all know what she is like. ~~~~~~waves to all the Wonderful Wattlers. Trifley X X |

Hi Joodles....'Dianne' (when being a mum) is polite, well manered, friendly and a little on the dull side. She wouldn't dare dance on a table top or do too much to embarass her Angel. It's only when the young lady has been here several times that 'Dianne' goes away and Trifley comes out pmsl When I'm with my sister at a VIEW Do I'm really Trifley. Trifley x |

'Fraid I'll be here for most of the day. Sitting with a hot water bottle strapped to my belly. Least it's this week and not next. lol !!! Trifley....whatever this girl is like, as least she's a Victorian lass. Your boy has good taste. hehe!!! Off to trawl ancestry again. Just found my gg grandfathers sister Sarah Steains who went awol from Aus on the '81 & '91 census. they must have bothe died before the 1901. Turns out she and her hubby, James Dunn Taylor when back to Middlesex where she was born, but later settled in Glous. Someone had previously found death entries for both their names, but weren't sure if it was them or not. I've found them with their children plus a few extra born over there. He was born Ireland and was a draper and silk mercer/merchant. Silk......hmmmmm, I like this guys style. lol See, I occasionally do the odd bit of tree research. lol !!! love Rebs x |
