Morning all ,from a very muggy Newcastle where the old garden hound has just been inspecting his domain ,lol :-). Dorothy ,yep ,mother in laws can be a pain in the rear ,as can some mothers, either can be the death of a marriage which is a shame ,they should be there to support in advice only ,and then ,only when asked. I did the same as your lad ,but i got my mum ,and mum in law in for tea,fed them to mellow them a little ,and then laid the ground rules in front of them ,saying ,you brought your children up in the way that you ,wanted ,and now i am going to do the same ,and thankfully ,i never had any trouble with my mums ,they turned out to be the best a man could have asked for. My Daughter is down at the moment too ,realising that apart from two lovely kids ,the waste of space husband realised too late that ,this [second] time was the finish of their marriage and found he had lost the prop out of his life, same as you lad ,but for very different reasons. Your daughter in law was never strong enough to stand up to her mum,and that's sad but as they say a marriage has ,a wife [one] and a husband [one ] nothing else will ever work, personally i would have gone to see mum in law and told her to butt out,but that left the lad with the wife problem ,so sad after all these years, but all you can do ,you are doing ,they have to sort it out themselves. You are still overdoing it Brenda ,you are not helping yourself ,or your family ,and will land up making yourself ill again, you HAVE to slow down Lass, and make a little more time for you. Do try the camomile tea Brenda ,i was astounded at what it did for me ,one bad night in two months is a result Hope all are having a nice relaxing weekend, catch you later ,.Fred :-)

hi everyone it is quite hot and humid to-day but I have a nice breeze on the balcony and the potted plants are still alive and blooming, had quite a lazy day to-day but it is saturday after all. I am going out for lunch with andrew to-morrow and I will ask him to stop by the library we will have to talk about the car it needs to be towed away to his mechanic and see if I can get a few bob! for the parts etc and then I shall have to decide about getting another not sure about that I still like driving but if the strokes happen again I know that they will take my lience I may just take cabs for a while and see how that goes and maybe see what his mechanic can find for me in the spring I do not want to clear out the bank account on a brand new one, the bus system is not great for me to get around town as there is not a bus stop near by , tonight we have a lynley on the tele I have probably seen it but can enjoy it again and to-morrow we get a new lewis, hope you all have a good week-end by for ow dorothy

morning our Dorothy ,sounds as though you may be using public transport for a while ,but if you have a good system where you live ,why not/ at least you can let another driver take the strain ,lol :-). If you stick to the doc's advice ,and watch what you are doing there is no reason to suppose you will have another stroke,i have dealings with rellies that have had a couple ,and no others after ,and you seem to be managing okay. Come spring if you decide to get another motor ,go for it ,and good luck. With all the water falling over here ,or it might be the solar flares ,i have lost my broadband ,and television connections ,ooooops ,the grand bairns will NOT be amused when they get up he he. I Am using the T Mobile Dongle that i use when i am on holiday which seems to be doing the job okay ,which is just as well as Virgin media say it could be 5 pm ,before i get the service back [ i will be asking for a days rebate he he :-(. I rather think it's the water getting into the cables though ,the amount of rain we had last night was really bad ,and it's looking to be starting again very shortly. Must get on now ,other things to do before i get back here ,see you later all, enjoy the rest of the weekend ,Fred. :-)

I am realiseing That I can not do what seems an easy thing to some people Fred so After I have sorted out my neices hospital appointmments I will not be voluntering again, Hope you can get sorted with the transport Dorothy,my friends husband had to give his car up because he did not listen after the first TIA? .I am hoping to keep my car as long as it lasts but the insurance and petrol are getting expensive,We keep saying we will doensize to just Johns car ,but i will feel a bit stranded if we only have one car.as I like to be out when he is at golf.!!! Think you are right Fred about MIL etc but hope Lindy can see she has been hood winked that the separation is the best for them.!! Hope the weather will not keep you off air for long Fred,in my friends area they are having problems with the copper wiring used by BT and Sky is being pinched from the boxes so they are withouit phones both BT and Sky as well as the tv??? It should have been £60 but with a couple of reductions in the sale it was only £18.00.What a baragin.I was going to get a similar one from M&S with some gift vouchers we have but it was £49.00 !!!!! Hope you are all ok.speak tomorrow,Take care Brenda

Morning Brenda ,yep ,you have reached the point in your life where you have to do for self and hubby before anyone else ,time someone was doing for you,not ' tother way round. I made my new family their bread pudding this morning seeing as i was going to need the oven for the dinner,so i set to and ,using my biggest tin made a pudding that will keep the bairns in grub for a week ,lol. Once it has gone cold i will cut it into squares and put it into a seal able tin ,and put it in the fridge. Doing a lovely joint of beef for dinner today ,pot roast so that i can use the juices off it for the gravy, with which i am doing four sorts of veggies from the garden ,along with roast red onion, peppers ,and parsnip ,to go with the roast potatoes ,sweet potatoes. Hope you are okay over there Dorothy ,thinking of you a lot ,being in the same sort of boat ,my advantage being ,i have other family closer to home that you have ,a fraught time for you ,but i'm sure it will ,sooner or later sort itself out. Keep safe Brenda ,and watch yourself with the troubles ,in case it comes your way,if it gets too bad over your way ,i may yet cancel my holiday over in Fleetwood and get the riot gear out ,time this government got itself sorted out ,and got it's act together before the whole country goes down the tubes. Catch you later all ,Fred. :-)

afternoon folks,we have a sunny but chilly day to day ,but no rain yet ,so I have washed some bedding and got it on the line. Its three years today since my darling dad died,so I have been up to the chapel at the crem ,had a little chat with him and my mum ,but they have removed the benches while they are doing renovations ,so I did not stay long. We are not doing much else today apart from a pan of squash soup, and perhaps some blueberry muffins as I have a new recipe, which we want to have a go at. I am not surprised at the riots, with what has been happening in the world.how the goverment could all go on holiday at the same time is beyond me. I do hope they do not spread ,but I suppose some idiots will jump on the band wagon Hope you are all managing with all the changes you have been having.Takwe care Brenda.

hi just finished watching the riots in the arndale centre and was thinking that you were there the other day brenda perhaps you should follow fred's lead and get out the riot gear it is not funny what an horror to see this happening all over england. to-day (tues.) I went with andrew to pick up bryan at camp for his 30hr leave it was great to see him taller than ever hair bleached by all this time in the sun he is blonde but sort of a datk blonde normally, but the drive up was a bit tricky as we had torrential rain all the way up, but I was shocked at my son's appearance we did not make lunch on sunday or monday as he was ill, he looke awful very gaunt and his hair has gone gray alomost overnight at least since I last saw him 2 weeks ago. we kept things light as far as conversation went jut kept to some things he is doing in the house he has some friends coming on wed,and thurs, to help re arange some stuff, bryan will be sleeping at his dad's to-night and lindy is going to take him back to camp to-morrow 2hrs up and 2hrs down. lindy has got in touch with me via e-mail and wants to get to-gether for a talk after seeing andrew to-day I am going to wait a few days before that happens I need to get myself to-gether, she says I am the best mother in law a girl could have and does not want to lose me, I am a great believer that extended families stay out of marriages of their children, but those 3 grand children are my main concern, well I hope you all stay safe during these troubled times in england take care bye for now dorothy

Morning Dorothy ,sorry to hear of the state of your son ,and i feel so sorry for him,and i'm not at all suprised to hear that his hair has changed colour like that ,mine went like that during my tour in the Gulf ,and the stress your laddie is under ,being family orientated is a lot worse than the stress i was under, wish i could give him a hug for you. Maybe ,if Lucy sees what effect this has had on him it might just be the wake up call she badly needs, you know ,when a person marries ,the partner is the person who comes first along with the children ,NOT the parent or in laws,it's a crazy world we live in for sure. Seems like we have both crazy weather too ,we were under flood warnings up to yesterday morning ,but the river levels seem to be going down now ,for the minute. I don't know how we managed without the tumble drier up till last year ,but thank goodness we have it now ,i can't imagine having to go back to a clothes line in the kitchen. 'ey oooop Brenda ,you still around lass ,or are you still hiding under the stairs ,tin hat on head , :-0,making light of the situation ,but i know it's not funny ,i was in Tottenham the last time the rioting broke out ,and it frightened me a darned site more than the gulf ever did,NOT a situation to get caught up in. Things may be sorting themselves out here too ,the son in law has been lambasted by his older brother for his selfish and cowerdly treatment of his wife ,and told he should be the one to leave the house ,not my daughter and children, and has offered him the bungalow that an aunt had until her death, last month ,saying he could have it for now ,only paying the rates until the property clears probate ,and then rent it,so ,i hope he will take up the offer. Still piddling down here ,so i think i will put on the wellies and mooch over to the greenhouse and pretend it is warm ,sunny ,and try to cheer my tomatoes up ,lol. :-D. Catch you later all,Fred :-)xxxx

Morning all, well I did not have to get the tin hat on,and did not hear any trouble either, and we do not live farout of the city. My sister and brothers heard all the sirens etc and luckily again family members who work in the middle of the riot area where not working yesterday Not sure if they are going in today one works in a shop and the other two need to go througth those areas to the other side of town for their jobs.Davids store which is out of town was put on red alert yesterday, hope it closes early today if theres any more trouble. I have to contact a friend who lives in Salford and not far from the riots there to see if they are ok. Legs still a bit painfull so not going out ,againand will see how I am tomorrow after my blood tests before doing anything else. Hope you are managing Dorothy, and i am so sorry for Andrew ,I have been in his position and its not nice ,luckily I did not have to go to work and cope with all that as well ans with Andrews job being so demanding ,Lindy must be a very selfish person to do all that to her family ,the kids will know whats what at their ages. Fred hope your son in law will accept his brothers offer ,your daughter and her family will be better in their own home.,Not that you would not have looked after them. Better go and empty the washer and try and het it dry as it has started to rain since I put it on,I am expecting John to come home from his golf looking like a drowned rat!!!! See you all tomorrow Brenda

hi wed pm first of all thankyou fred and brenda for the kind words I have just spoken to bryan before he goes back up to camp this evening and I also spoke at length last evening with lindy I have to admit I am none the wiser but as andrew flies to ottawa on sunday evening I did agree to have dinner next week with her and the two children who will be home from camp on saturday, I have always been very fond of lindy and want to try and keep it that way. both andrew and lindy are driving up to camp to-gether to pick up Ian and laura and lindy has said that Ian perhaps would like to stay the night at andrew's as he has been at camp for 2 weeks and his dad has to leave on sunday I thought that was a great Idea wether Laura will do the same remains up to her I guess. as I said before this new co-parenting will work I guess as they can see each house from the other. Bryan now has a surgical date sept 29 for his A.C.L repair so he will get 3 weeks off school in grade 11 under his belt before the surgery and now with the internet he can sit in on his classes from home as he recovers. I have just read about the broom brigade that turned out to help with the clean up in manchester how wonderful reminds me of stories my mom used to tell about people helping each other during the war when I was a babe (born in 1942) well enough from me once again fred and brenda thanks for the kind words take care dorothy

Morning to all ,Fred reporting in again, and a good on it is too ,all seems to be coming together here at last ,but more of that in a little while. Hope all is well with the blood tests Brenda, and remember ,relax when you go to the doc's otherwise there will be a false reading ,which will never do,the blood pressure sorted ,and you will feel a lot better ,and won't get as tired ,but you will STILL need to run at a more sedate pace from now on ,lol,no spiked running shoes ,more sneakers ,or flip flops. We are now well into cropping mode ,freezing stuff like mad, making cucumber ,and tomato chutney ,pesto sauces with the herbs ,that sort of thing. We will be getting our house back at the end of the month after the son in laws big bro' really read him the riot act,and said he had to work at a marriage ,not take the p*** and leave his partner to pay all the bills, while he wasted what little bit he earned on himself ,giving nothing even for food. The deal is ,he leaves the house forthwith and continues to pay the house payments as instructed by Bro',for which he gets the bungalow rent free ,but has to pay the rates for. Once the six month period is up,he can then pay rent and rates ,and continue to live there as long as he wishes, but if he defaults on the house payments ,he will be kicked out on his ear on to the street with no where to.go. By this time the daughter will be sorted out ,and will take back the house payments which she always paid anyway,a good result, all due to elder brother who has also had enough of his bro'and his lazy ways,he knows now that he is on probation by his family ,as well as ours :-(. weather wise ,it's still wet and dingy,so it's cleaning today ,no garden work .B***r,lol. Def' getting a Chimnea from B & Q next week,it will do for burning the old wood ,and rubbish from the garden saving space in the bins, and ,i can also cook the odd burger and snags at the same time,. The water butts are overflowing making a lovely pond out back, maybe i should start keeping a few ducks ,instead of Chickens ,he he ,at least i would have no snails or slugs in the garden ,and i would love a few duck eggs ,yum. Be back later peoples ,Have a nice day Fred. :-D
