I had a little break from doing my family tree but have started to troll round the sites again.
But not having much success, still Rome wasn't built in a day.
Hope you all had a good Easter and your weather is improving .
Hopefully be back soon.Have to think about if I am renewing or not in the next few weks.

Afternoon all ,where ever you may be ,and whatever you may be doiung ,webbed feet and all ,lol.
not so bad here Brenda ,as you say ,6 d plus is lots better than -50c ,i know i couldn't cope with that sort of weather ,i would rather emmigrate to Cyprus where the weather is far nicer,and the people nice and friendly.
Yes ,we have had the call about the wet room ,if all goes well ,they will phone up on Friday to confirm while they order the stuff in ,and all being well ,will start next Tuesday,weather or not,but they will be putting sheeting down everywhere to protect the new carpets,don't mind clearing dust up afterwards ,but if they wreck carpeting ,they will be billed for the new ones,i kid you not ,the carpets only a few months old :-|.
Bummer about your friend ,i feel for you over that ,what with losing my bro in law early last year after a hospital stay went badly wrong. :-(.
The daughter lost her cat yesterday ,it went mad ,attacking her as soon as she came in the door ,it taking the fella from next door getting the cat into a carry basket using a pair of welding gauntlets .
There are lots of ruins on crete ,some being Roman ,and earlier civilisations ,you could be into a very good holiday there ,i know i loved Cypres for old towns and cities ,8 qweeks ,and we never saw any where near what was on offer ,but i have loads of pictures of the ruins ,orange ,lemon and lime plantations ,as well as oldl'es of olive groves and monastries ,making the whole island look like a place out of the distant past ,like looking through a time portal.lol,it's true what they say ,see Cyprus once and your heart is captured forever.
Well time to get on with the tea ,dinner really ,but by the time i had filled in and took back the new paper work for the blue badge it was beans on toast for dinner ,but as i love them it was no hardship at all ,he he :-).

Hope your doing the floors was not in vain and they are coming or have started your bathroom
We have been wet and windy here again and the wind makes it feel freezing.
At least we have no floods, some parks are a bit water logged but no serious flooding. We are not freezing either like Dorothy and other parts across the pond.
Had some bad news yesterday with the death of a good friend, she had an operation on Friday to replace a fractured shoulder. She came through the op but afterwards had complications and died early yesterday
She did have some other health issues so we are not sure what actually went wrong .We know there will be post mortem so we will have to wait and see.
On a brighter note we are hoping to book a holiday to Crete in this week,we should be going in June.
John was gutted when Utd went out of the FA cup and can't see them doing anything this year.
David is. .happy that city got a draw and have a replay.

Wow ,what a job we had to dismantle all the Christmas dec's,get them upstairs and put away ,lol,we would still be at it if it wern't for my eldest daughter coming up and doing most of it for us.bless her .
anyway ,the downstairs is spick and span ,and back to normal ,well ,as normal as is for us ,lol :-).
having just got the bottom floor done ,and about ready to ditto upstairs ,what's the betting that as i finish ,the phone will go ,and it will be the team to announce that they wan't to come and start on the bathroom ?, :-P :-| :-| :-|.

Morning to everyone who looks in,from a snug house ,now lots warmer since the new windows and doors have been put in ,lovely .
The heating went last week ,the day after we went to the aldi sales ,where we brought a new paper ,cross cut shredder and dvd cutter,and an electric heater which i thought would be fine for the bedroom in the event of the heating going off it being of a warm air and blower type which can't set fire to the bedding.
Him ,the boss man up stairs must be looking after us ,because the next morning ,no heater or hot water ,lol.
So,it was on with the front room gas heater ,and set up the new heater in the bedroom,smashing .
Called out the engineer who said Monday ,but who called back later to say he had had a cancellation and would be with us in half an hour ,great stuff,and told us that the main board had gone ,saying that it was of an early sort ,prone to this fault ,that he hadn't a new type on board ,but had an old one which he had taken out of someones boiler ,and used this one ,after putting two new fuses in to get us up and running again,which worked great ,keeping us going until he came back this morning with a brand new up to date sort ,so we isssss sorted ,lol.

This means that as soon as i have sent off this little missive ,we can go and get a few odds and ends,and then i can come home and make a loaf of bread.
Hope this next year that starts in a few hours will be a lot better than the last one for everybody and is a lot more peaceful than the old one. :-D take care everyone ,and have a great new year in everything you do ,loves ya all ,Fred ,xxx :-)

Evening to all who look in,been so tied up with the the hospital and the missus [now sorted ] and the house ,[now sorted] and everything else ,that this is the first time i have had for over a week :-).
The windows and French doors are in ,and what a difference it has made ,we issss now snug and warm ,the place is lots warmer with no draughts coming in under ,over and through the doors and windows,smashing :-D.
All i have to do now ,is rebuild the step outside the doors ,to make them double the length they were before,i have the spare bricks and cement ,so all i need is a couple of extra slabs of paving for the tops,but ,no way am i starting that until the new year .
All we are waiting for now is for the fitters to come and sort the wet room out for Liz and me ,so that we can get a shower in peace and comfort ;-).
Hope to be back tomorrow ,time to get this thread moving again,Fred. :-)

Hope Liz is ok with her eyes my friend has had hers done and could not believe how "blind" she had really been as she puts it
They did them in two stages about 9 months apart but I think it depends on a few things on what they do and when.
All packed and have to be up at 3am and out by 4.15am .Will be showered before bed don't fancy a shower in the middle of the night with no heating on.!!!

Morning to all ,from a chilly Newcastle ,but at least ,for now the snow has gone away ,and once these new windows and doors go in ,we should be snug and dry :-).
Yep Kathleen ,done very well this year garden wise ,and i am now getting the cabbages out for use ,one by one ,and pulling the roots out too as i go along.
The tattie barrels ,and tattie bags are covered for taking out where ,and when,and i think i will get a good crop from those,and i have some large very tasty onions hung in the greenhouse,a very good year it has been for me, :-D.
Looks like it is the Aussies turn for the cyclone season ,with one bearing down on Darwin ,and Kimberley by the week end ,so stay safe all you peeps over there,and keep the heads down ;-).
Have to take the missus for her first foot clinic this morning ,i set it up for her as soon as i saw the cateracts were making her toe cutting difficult,poor lass can hardly make out the writing on the tele screen anymore :-(,it came on fast because she is on steroids which can increase the speed of the cateracts growth.
I have also had her to my optician because i didn't trust her's and what a difference ,they have been on to the doc ,and she has already recieved a letter for her to attend the eye hospital at the start of December,so hopefully it will all be sorted before long,in the meantime it will be a case of Bernie ,the bolt ,left hand down a bit ,fire ,he he. :-).
I will be going everywhere with her for the forseeable future to make sure she is safe ,and protected from any ill informed low life who may think she is vunerable to bag snatching or the like :-|.
