Afternoon everyone,it started off fairly nice here this morning weatherwise.
But has turn really chilly and grey this afternoon.Went to the docs this morning and did not really get much ,just some cream, another type with a dystalgestic(sorry about spelling) but not the diclafenic one I asked for ,which i have been using and works.!!!
Just rub it in and take the paracetamol four times aday.keep doing some moderate excerise.and perhaps swimming!!!I told her we had a holiday booked and I was worried i would not be fit to go but she said lets just see how this works!!!
So I am not a happy bunny.I can not go on holiday whenI can hardly walk a hundred yards without having to stop because of the pain.!! But fingers crossed it all works like the doc said.!!
Enjoy your weekend with your friends Dorothy sound like you are having a good spread. And hope you get more info from your new found neice.
Hope you and yours have another good weekend Sally... New Brighton!! have only been there once when I was a lot younger, with Sunday school,do not remember much apart from the sunshine and the ferry ride/
Fred ,have a good one as well,
Take care Brenda

Gooooood morning Campers, and every one else ,lol, from a dull ,at the moment ,but promising better north of England.
Sorry to have been missing for a few days ,but this time of year i am rather busy out in the gardens ,and by the time i get in at night ,i am to put it mildly rather tired ,he he.
The new fence out front is up ,but needs the supports left in place for a few days ,until the concrete plugs round the posts harden fully.
The new Tulip Magnolia seems to be settling in very well, and i am now happy with the layout ,all spaces filled ,and looking good.
My six pots of herbs in the greenhouse are through ,apart from the mint,so i am well happy with that ,and my tomato plants are all through, plenty of tomatoes this year to go with my four cucumber plants, and six courgette plants.
I now have the 6 Brussels in their buckets and the 16 Runner bean out in their growing positions, and all of the Asparagus plants are growing well ,so i look to be having a good season, with the two tattie barrels turned round and started again.
Tried setting up my Camping B B Q last night ,opened the legs and locked them in place ,and found that the instant B B Q packs in the foil trays fit in nicely ,which means that the carry B B Q will in itself stay nice and clean for putting back in the car boot, result or what?
We will be going down to Lancashire on the 9th may for a few days so i will give it a try out then ,and will use the new camera as well taking pics of the Southport shopping centre showing the Victorian arcades and buildings with the ultra wide streets very simular to Llandudno in wales, and Southports beutiful Parks and Lake.
The sis in law has got her new house ,and moves in a few weeks ,after the landlord finishes off the jobs that need doing after he bought it last month, this property is bigger than the last ,with a far larger back yard ,with room to get their car off the street at night ,and still plenty of space for pots ,and chairs, the table ,and Large B B Q ,and suprisingly ,the rent is the same as the last house.
Well ,hope every one is going to enjoy their second long weekend in a row ,lol,me plenty of time to lounge around on the patio ,the housework done ,and the garden very much sorted for this season
Catch you all later ,Fred.

hi one and all from a cool saturday morning my the last 2 days have been great but I am rather tired I was up early thursday am about 7-30 and the friends arrived at 4pm then we went off tot he pub for a lovely meal I decided to go to bed about 10 to have a sleep before the tv started with the wedding but did not sleep gave up at 2am so Isobelle and I watched the wedding start up and linda got up at 3am, we so enjoyed all the wedding and ate our way through all the stuff I had set out finishing up with steak pie and baked beans from the scottish bakery in brampton, they left at 3pm I hung in till 7pm and then went to bed and I have slept for 12hrs solid, if any of you are not interested in the royal wedding sorry if I have bored you but I thought it was smashing also looking at all the places I last saw in person 4yrs ago I walked up the mall last time I was over and of course the abbey is beyond words I see as usual fred that you are busy in the garden, brenda I do hope that your leg gets better soon, have they thought of doing a m.i.r on that knee to see what is going on inside, isobelle's phsyio is helping her at the moment, well I am off to watch a replay of all yesterdays happenings to see if I missed anything and to take a closer look at the fashions , but someone should give those york girls some help with fashion!!!! have a good week-end bye dorothy

badger Report 1 May 2011 08:57

Morning Dorothy, wow ,sounds like you have had a pretty busy few days, what with one thing and another, yep i agree about the wedding ,couldn't get into it at all,the horse that Charles married spoilt it for me,but each to their own ,i left Liz glued to the box ,and retired to the patio for a snooze in the shade ,he he.
Still havn.t ,and never will forgive Charles or the royal family for the way he Married Diana, not out of love for a beutiful woman ,but to use her as a baby machine to gain an heir.
The family set out to destroy Diana's dreams and her love ,that any sane man would give their eye teeth for ,and Charles ,all the pretence of love ,and all the time he was still bedding Camilla [the horse],no wonder Diana finished up confused and bitter.
Any way ,what comes around ,goes around as they say,and i don't think the british public will put up with this sad prince as their king, this should fall to one of his children.
The garden is looking good ,and my veggie patch is coming along nicely. The plum tree is loaded with fruit ,as is the apple ,we should do well this year, having already had two crumbles made from our rhubarb ,and last years frozen apple [smacks lips] ,lol
Too hot for cooking indoors today ,so we are firing up the B B Q for a lazy meal stretched out over four hours or so .
I have Cumberland ,lincolnshire ,and plain pork sausages on the menu, hot dogs, the home made pork and apple burgers, chicken breast sliced into strips ,and marinaded in lemon and dill sauce ,and another sauce of mint and dill ,for the other meat.
I have some rounds of bacon to grill as well ,and will be making a side salad ,complete with chopped hard boiled eggs ,with mayo ,and salad cream.
I am about to make my Bombay potato up ,which i will be adding a little extra corriander to,but ,as there are only four of us for this repast ,i will not be making the Sag Aloo this time.
Musn't forget the sliced onions in butter either ,a must for hot dogs ,to which i usually add an oxo cube.
Anyone thinking of coming had better get their bum in gear ,he he ,i kick off in three hours .
Hope every one is having a nice time ,enjoying the long weekend, and Brenda ,hope you are giving that leg a good rest before your holiday.
Catch you all later ,Fred.

oh my goodness just had breakfast and then I saw what fred planned for this afternoon and of course I wish I had a time machine and could pop in for what sounds like a wonderful meal, going to be a rainy day to-day and to-morrow we have a general election one that no one seems to want for the first time since I was able to vote I have no idea who to vote for ,the prime minister stephen harper I have no use for I don't think he likes woman, and the others well not much hope with them though it does look like the n.d.p have a chance to be the opposition if harper gets another minority the liberals are the opposition at the moment what a mess. brenda I hope you are feeling better and moving around ok, yes fred I think that charles made a right mess of things but I think this young couple stand a good chance and seem to have their heads on the right way I wish them well and dare I say I hope the queen goes on for a long time and maybe charles will pop off before her (oh this could get me into the tower!!!) bye for now dorothy

Oooops ,sorry about that Dorothy ,lol,i will remember in future that the cut in point is 1 pm ,not mid day [smacks wrist] ,but thanks for the call back with the info ,i found the info i needed ,suffice to say that someone is going to get a wake up call at around 2 pm my time which i hope will be okay.
It was nice to hear that ,although you are gettin' a tad wet ,that the snow has gone ,hopefully until fall this time .
With us both finding getting into town during the week we opted for a postal vote, which we used last week for the 5th of this month.
Must get out today if for nothing else ,i need a Biiiiig 65 birthday card for the missus ,plus a huuuuge bunch of flowers to say thank you to her for putting up with me [brave lady ] for so many years, must also get in touch with the children to see what they have planned for the 4th,to make sure i have her at home at the right time ,he he.
Glad you enjoyed your trip Edith ,sounded as though you enjoyed it all,but sorry to hear that your luck was as ours ,he he ,never won 'owt in my life ,except the light of my life [her ,who must be obeyed] lol.
The weather here isn't so good today ,but i am not complaining ,we need some rain about now,,and the stuff i put out yesterday could do with some proper [radioactive] he he ,rain water.
I got most of the stuff into the buckets yesterday including three of the herbs ,which pleased me no end ,as i now have a lot more room in the greenhouse.
All that is left to go out now are the dwarf climbers ,and the broad beans as regards all the bean crops ,and the brassica ,that will be a week or so yet ,both mid ,and late season cabbages.
Glad to hear that your leg is a lot better Brenda ,but listen to what hubby told you,and bearing in mind that your holiday trip is round the corner ,careful as to what you do ,and how much please .
Well ,time i was out back now ,still things to do and all that, take care all ,and have a nice day,Fred.

hi brenda glad to see you back on line but retirement does meanthat you get busy now and then, yes I did get an early morning call from fred but it was worth the wake up call to speak to him hope you can get this leg problem sorted not much fun is it,had reason to talk to andrews father to-day one of his brothers has five daughters all very grown up now and married but the youngest one (about 47 ) had a cebral heamorrahage the other day and is on life support plus a trach, it does not sound very good, my former husband and I met when the next too the youngest was born I was her nurse and her mom was keen on getting her brother in law married off, so we had a long talk about the past and the good times and I must say we had some that is why I guess we have always been able to get along as andrew's parents just not man and wife at least on my part re the man and wife bit, andrew was planning on flying his dad to las vegas to see arthurs sister as they both are getting on arthur will be 77 on the 10th of may and alma in vegas is about 82 so andrew thought it would be wiser to go with his dad what with the long walks at airports and all the security his dad would get a bit botherd I think anyway that is on hold till we see what the outcome is with danielle it does not sound goodto me, to-morrow (thursday ) we are to have sunshine for a couple of days I look foreward to that fred wish liz happy birthday for me and tell her the best is yet to come bye for now dorothy

badger Report 5 May 2011 10:53

Good morning all you lucky people [well you isss still alive ain't you ,lol.
The wife did well yesterday, what with her cards and flowers,as well as the trip to b&Q where i not only brought a bag of ready mixed cement to repair the front step inside the gate ,before some unlucky b***er falls over it [probably me with my clumsy plates of meat].
I also got a bag of Limestone chips for covering the soil around the Nectarine tree ,to prevent any seeds taking root in the urn.and got Liz 12 new Strawberry plants to replace the ones that the severe frosts killed over the winter, and a few [6] plant rootlings [flowers to cover the bare patch out front where the barrel was last year,And a new Rosemary tree that replaces the other killed one that also got clobbered by the frost and snow.
Apart from that ,i did well yesterday ,getting all the remaining seedlings out of the greeenhouse ,apart from the broad bean ,and brassica so the planting is about finished for this year ,which means more chair time on the patio ,and a better leg tan ready for the holiday shorts ,he he.
Fred is dreading my sugar count at dinner time today, lol, blame the two legged boss ,for tempting me with a huuuge slice of her Chocolate indulgence Birthday Cake that the daughter brought her yesterday, weeeeell ,i couldnt refuse could i? one she could never eat a whole cake on her own,and ,two ,if she did eat it on her own ,i would need a bigger car to take her on holiday next week..
Time to join Hissy on the patio i think ,she is sitting by the patio door giving me the hard stare ,and if i sit here any longer i will get a leg swipe off her,who must be obeyed ,he he.
Catch you all later ,Fred,And the cat.

You hang in there Brenda, and leg or no leg ,get on that trip and enjoy that holiday ;-) ,and don't worry about the weather either, just the change will do you the world of good.
no,We didn't get any email card ,but that is explained by the state of the internet these past few days, everything seems to be about as fast as three legged sloth, when it is working at all.
I have been updating both my travel computers and find that it is taking far longer than normal grrrrr, but, :-( i am getting there .
We are about there now ,with the garden, which is just as well ,because i was soooo sore last evening it was no joke.
Been in touch with Bakker [uk] sending them pics of the diseased Nectarine tree, letting them know in no uncertain terms that i am not amused to be sent an item that was so obviously unfit for sale that it is a disgrace.
I have told them however ,that i don't like admitting defeat with any plant ,and will nurse it until it either dies ,or recovers, and will see at that point ,wether to put in a claim for a free replacement. :-(.
Well troops ,off for now ,time to take the missus her cuppa up,before feeding some of the stuff in the greenhouse.
Catch you all later ,Fred :-)

Going to make a start on my packing tomorrow seeing as I have to stay in for the delivery we are expecting, Have to alter a couple of pairs of trousers, even thougth they are a short leg my little legs are still shorter!!
