I've said "ickle" lots of times and will continue to do so if I feel like it :-D

In fact I'll say anything I like as long as I am not disrespecting or offending people :-D

I agree with you entirely :-D :-D

I seem to have missed something while I was taking the cat to be castrated, but to me this was not a thread about mis-spelling ( hyphen ? no hyphen?) because someone can't spell, or use grammar accurately, or has dyslexia or a poor education, dodgy eyes (me!) and fingers ( also me).

not everyone is able to spell correctly, it's a bugbear of mine but then I was a secretary all my working life and had to be able to spell correctly, I hate the prevalent misuse of apostrophes - you see it everywhere, but no way would I judge anyone who can't spell correctly - I'm useless with numbers, always have been, always will be

*Absolutely* Ann (hee hee - I know you hate that) ;-)

I'm not usually one to criticize spelling errors either, because they don't bother me. There are far more important things to worry about, like trying to look gawjus when I know I'm past it ;-) :-D

You can only type words the best way you know how. If it looks right to you then fine. If others understand it then you've made your point.

I do like to see things grammatically correct.

Wend you're not past it..........you're on your second coming.

Tuts Wend *....* should be "...."

You haven't missed the point Rose about my OP Rose, most people know exactly what this thread about, but there seems to be those who want it to be about spelling, which it isn't, and by the amount of pm's I've had, most if us know that. :-D

Lynda - you make me chuckle, bless your heart :-D

Geez, I added to this last night before settling down on the sofa with Captain Jack Sparrow.

My response was at the number of posts I see on facebook with *deliberately* misspelled words. I work with teenagers and see it a lot and it annoys me because I think it's daft. At the time of my posting I had no idea that anyone on GR did it. I've obviously missed those threads.

Neither Lynda's post nor mine was having a pop at people who can't spell. Don't understand why it has been taken that way by some.

People can deliberately misspell as much as they like, Lynda asked for comments about it. I'm allowed to not like it. I spent 40 years of my life trying to persuade people to spell things properly and it does irritate me when they don't.

I think I'm allowed to express that opinion, aren't I?
