John, "You keep making that point about barrowloads of compo, Roy"

WRONG I have said ONCE that, One thing that's not been said is that these areas affected with redundancies particularly with the miners who had the biggest redundancy pay packet in history

Why do I keep having to repeat myself after you mis quote, and or take my posts out of context.

Roy :-|

Terryj Back on your normal militant form i see,
You appear to need a new hearing aid, The police never made any such suggestion

Please can this bickering stop until after the funeral?

I was no fan but I think some silence on the matter until the funeral is over would be respectful, I see coverage is beginning on TV.

Let's all shut up about it for a couple of hours, shall we?

*mind you he made some good suggestions
people may throw lumps of coal or bottles of milk
even i didnt think of that*

Oh dear the mentality of some. I hope our children have not been taught to think so evily. Whatever will anyone stoop to next. The mere thought is more than childish it is positively evil and smacks of hooliganism.

RIP Mrs T

As one commentator put it, the service today in St Paul's Cathedral was a fitting tribute for the woman who became this country's first female Prime Minister, it was not a day for discussing her polices - those discussions are for a later date.

@ Porkie_ Pie

Roy I have to agree with so many of your comments, but your post 17 Apr 2013 08:35 "With respect if people are still heavily bruised by Strike action nearly 30 years ago then shame on them,"

I feel this to be so very true of many people that were affected by Mrs Thatcher and her government. Some people will use any excuse to apportion blame, and do not consider their own actions may have something to do with the way their lives have been affected. However so many of people (me and my family included) got on with re-building our lives and came through it stronger and better people for it.

A quote from Dr Who “The very powerful and the very stupid have one thing in common. Instead of altering their views to fit the facts, they alter the facts to fit their views...which can be very uncomfortable if you happen to be one of the facts that needs altering.” ;-)

It seems that some people were glad to see her go, others will mourn her........but have we got short memories?

for different reasons, maybe,

I recall celebrations over the demise of Sadaam Hussein,
some were glad to see him go,others will mourn him...

Paula...how I agree.
Life can have its ups and downs...it's how you handle it

I have had very bad times in life changing circumstances, but you have to get on with it..moaning doesn't help...when the going gets tough, the tough get going.
That's my motto.
Dwelling on a situation makes everyone miserable.

Just be thankful her party kicked her out when they did or we'd all be under private health now,,,,this she advocted ,,,,,,private health,,,,,,,we'd have hospitals run as cottage hospitals for the needy, some small section under the national health run at a minimum, all major ailments and ops treated only if you could pay, as on par with US, life saving cancer drugs for the private sector......no free childhood injctions,no free dental care, and so on.

Kay, Can you qualify your assumption with regard to the NHS

I also think that more of the NHS has been privatised under 13 years of a labour administration than the last conservative one and Thatcher never touched the NHS or The benefits system

I stand by awaiting to be corrected
