Hallo ladies, pass the cinnamon, Vick, brandy calpol and any thing else which FTY and I can aid our selves with please ( no brandy for FTY of course)

We feel rough, FTY feels rough in the evening, I feel rough morning and evening. I was speaking with a fellow toiler today from another toil area, they had felt rough since before Christmas :-(

Keep warm Ladies and keep the bugs at bay.

Auntie, are you playing cards there dear in your avatar :-S

*smiles sweetly* and thinks *tit for tat, and revenge is sweet*

I know just how you feel Petunia dear, I felt a tad lousy after you loaned me your coney fur the other week, the one I accidentally knocked into the fire. Ah well, these things are meant to try us. I noticed earlier that Tricki Woo was scratching rather suspiciously. Perhaps he needs a good brushing down with a dog brush dipped in coca cola and Full Marks.

So sorry Teresa you are still feeling rough, and FTY too, I hope your hard working OH has remained healthy enough to keep working to keep you in the luxury you'd like to become accustomed to. Although, once these germs are in the house .......

The weather today was not at all like February, it was quite pleasantly mild early afternoon, enough for me to put my hood down. Late morning, I spied the cat sunbathing on top of the cold frame. But the weather frogs have promised us a change in climate from tomorrow, the cold weather will return they say, from the East. That means a lazy wind - it goes through you and not around you.

Wrap up warmly ladies, to dissuade the impending chill from reaching your unmentionables.

Auntie Petunia I am sorry I went AWOL :-( I promise to try not to do it again ;-) this week and next I will be partaking in genteel talk very little if at all.....................tomorrow at 11.50pm I shall be at the airport to welcome my cousin whom will be staying with us for 6 day's :-D I feel tired already just thinking about everything she has planned for us :-(

Teresa it sounds as though you and FTY have had a nasty bout of flu and it's really knocked you for six, easy said but try and rest as much as possible. <3

Leaving this thread as quick as I can 100 years of dust mite and scratching.........................no thank you.

Lesley.

Good evening dear Ladies,

I am sorry you are still unwell dear Teresa, Menthol inhalations are good dear, just pop your head over a bowl of steaming water, it will clear your tubes and give you a facial at the same time!

I am playing with Tarot cards dear. I used to like to try and forsee my future, but when my future turned into the present, and latterly my past, I realised I have interpreted the cards all wrong. Tutty tut.

I fear I am to end up like dear Ann Havawaywith in The Glums. I am still scratching and tearing myself to bits. I have also developed strange circles in my skin. They are little red ones. They look like polo mints! Perhaps dear Teresa can let us know what they are. Or perhaps I should pop a piccie off to Dr Christian. He of the bulging biceps.

I agree it was VERY cold this morning. The frost on the cars this morning looked like snow, and it was very slippy on the pavements. Thank goodness I have the tuk tuk and dear Pat-trish-aaaaah has all the hard work to do, while I sit back and shiver.

I must say I looked like the Black Widow when I went out this morning. I had a picture hat with a veil to hide my disfigured face. No amount of powder and paint will hide these wheals. I am mortified.

Now do you know, that is a strange thing..................the stole has just travelled the rug and jumped into the fire by itself. Ugh, it smells of singeing hair!!! Reminds me of when I used to have my hair Marcel waved and then tonged.

Applying the calomine lotion.

Oh what a busy day I have had !!

I hope you feel better today Teresa, actually I was a tad poorly in the night and wondered if you had sent some virtual germs my way. My lungs and windpipe felt woolly and I was coughing like an old man with emphysema. I bestirred myself and got a tot of best brandy, for medicinal purposes of course, and washed that down with a cup of tea and eventually got back to sleep. When I awoke at a more respectable hour, my lungs and windpipe felt "normal" again. But, I couldve sworn in the night I was coming down with a lurgy.

Today I gave the MOG the pleasure of my company and we drove all the way to Langham Glass, having seen some nice pieces of Langham Glass on eBay. What a disappointment. Everything was over priced, especially as some of it was clearly seconds. We didnt fancy anything there to buy as a souvenir of "a day out" - in fact the nicest thing was a paperweight priced at £50 and we didnt like it enough to pay Silly Money - so we drove across Norfolk to Caithness, where we purchased several quality items for less than £35, and on the way home we stopped for a bite to eat at a lovely little pub called The Ship Inn at Downham Market, which I can heartily recommend.

On the way there, we drove past RAF Lakenheath, and on the way home as we travelled via Downham Market we drove past Waterbeach Camp. So many signs saying MOD property, danger, keep out. But, no visible sign of Men In Uniform. However I saw some hares on the Lakenheath site, probably one of the few places they'd be safe from poachers.

Once again we drove through quaint little villages with names like Blind Summit, Loose Chippings, and a new village called Raised Ridges. And we also ventured into Biblical Times with Shepreth and Meldreth and Babraham. I didnt see Noah but there were lots of fields in the land of Much-Boggy-in-the-Marsh.

~~~~~ to Lesley, I hope you and your cousin have a great gabfest!
Petunia dear, why is it that an ugly man can look almost handsome once he puts a smart uniform on?
We brought you a glass souvenir back, dear. Here - catch !!!
Oh dear. Oh well. I will fetch the dustpan and brush before Tricki Woo treads in the shards.
Petunia, your weals don't sound very nice, I hope they are not shingles?. I have never had shingles but I hear they are most unpleasant...
So glad to hear the stole has been incinerated, I hope you left it to burn to ash?. Now perhaps the itching will abate a bit.
Shame about your trinket from CC :-S... Oh well, how sad never mind. :-D. One less thing to dust? Dusting is such a bore.
What a lovely day out you had CC, I do love the quirky village names. I remember driving towards Exeter, seeing signs to Puddletown, Piddlehinton, two of many that took my fancy :-). I wonder how these places came by their names? OH and I bought an AA large scale road atlas of Britain for the grand sum of 3.99 pounds, I don't have a pound sign on this computer.... The atlas was most helpful to us and fun to look through too. !!
Lesley, have fun with your cousin :-S, not too sure that you are looking forward to a busy time?.
Poor Teresa, are you any better yet?. I shall send you some cyber sun and warmth :-). Maybe that will do the trick?
Ladies, today is the day - I hope. Fruit and I are off to a dress fitting, hopefully the last and we can bring the dress home :-). Fingers crossed it all goes well and I have a happy happy fruit - otherwise there will be a very unhappy Mama :-(...
Fruit is getting the run around from the cake lady... Time is agin us, we need firm details. I don't want to have to find someone else at this late stage.
Friday again, hooray. A quiet weekend me thinks. Housework and gardening....Oh, I forgot, we are going to visit my Mama and Papa on Sunday..
Have a pleasant weekend, keep warm.
Good evening Ladies,
You find me in a quandry dears. I am settled into my high quality button studded, leather armchair, in burgundy hide. I am sitting with my feet in a mustard bath, I have several hotwater bottles about my person, and a inhalation in a bowl under my nose. In short dears, I am proper poorly and have a cold.
That will teach me to flaunt around in chiffon, when I should be in fine merino wool. But at least dear Susan has approved my apparel, so it will be ready when the nuptials arrive. Dear Susan, all things sound as if they are coming together, you must be firm with cake people dear. I know of a Mama who had similar problems, then resorted to buying three cakes from M and S, and icing them herself. Thank goodness she had lessons from the Evening Institute several years before!!!!
Please let us know the final countdown dear, we are all very excited for you and your dear gel.
Cherry dear, I hope you have shares in a Petrol Company dear, you sound as if you have had a tour of middle England.
Lesley dear, you are returned to us dear, that is all that matters. Teresa, I can sympathise with you dear. We are lame ducks together.
I am orft to beddie byes soon dears, I hope to visit an exhibition on Saturday, and need to get myself in fine fettle for that.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ to Susan, put your foot down with a firm hand and stop the Cake Lady from giving you the run around :-) Have a good weekend and I hope your Mama and Papa are both well.

Petunia dear please to cover your face properly when you sneeze. Here, let me pass you this box of disposable hygienic handkerchiefs on the end of a 10 foot barge pole. I hope I do not catch any germs from you. I have enough of my own.

Did the Tarot cards foresee you getting such a severe chill? This is what happens when you flit around on a cold winters day wearing just chiffon and lace. Woollens and furs dear, woollens and furs.

Before you disappear orf to bed, I would like to moot something with you. If Scotland gains full independence from the United Kingdom .....

(i) will they have their own prime minister reporting to Her Majesty like wot David Cameron does at the moment?
and
(ii) will Sassenach visitors to Scotland need to have a genuine Scottish passport to cross the border?
and
(iii) will displaced and impoverished Sassenach persons have to swim across the Tweed to gain entry into Scotland? albeitly illegally.

and (iv) where can I get cheap swimming lessons?

Also, if everyone hightails it north of the border in the hope of a better life with top notch uisgeach, kilts, haggis, the skirling of the bagpipes, and Stanley Baxter, will the combined weight of all the additional peoples oop north push down the highlands and islands into the rising sea levels?

And, what is the correct pronunciation of Altna Harrah?

Oh dear me, every time you sneeze your top rides up, baring flesh; you will get a chill on your kidneys dear. Shall I make you some hot chocolate to help you settle down for the night?

I just realised Petunia dear, I didnt answer a question you put to me. You wanted to know if we had shares in BP, because of all the petrol we have purchased recently to get us around from A to Z on our days out. We are thinking of investing in BP - but first I need to buy some beehives .....!! :-D :-D :-D :-D

Cake sorted :-).

Nearly had an upset on Saturday, fruits fiance went into the room where 'the' gown is hanging, luckily hidden under a large white sheet. He certainly got the hurry up out of the room.... Phew.

Petunia dear, at the risk of upsetting your sensibilities, mumble pants are those lycra/stretch type leggings that women wear. Usually under a tunic or longer shirt. Some wear them with a short top :-D, mumble mumble mumble :-S.

Another weekend done and dusted, how come they go by so quickly? We had a nice drive out yesterday to visit my parents. I managed a quick trip to the shops, purchased six new towels, flannels and two new bathmats.. All on sale, my lucky day. I did notice a jewellers with a sale sign, my OH suddenly went blind. :-S....I did go into a Chemists, purchased a new lippy and some moisturiser. Those purchases entitled me to a bunch of freebies, all of which the assistant explained to me in detail... Got them home, yep, can't remember what they are all for.. Oh well, here's to trial and error.. Oh, and I don't like the lippy colour now - not telling OH that though.

Are you better Petunia, golly, you are all falling by the wayside with illness :-D. CC , keep your distance from t'others.. Obviously, my cyber sunshine was not enough to ward off the chills. Never fear, our temps are on the decline in the mornings and evenings, the days are still hot. Last week of Summer we are told. So, things should improve for you all soon :-). Spring is on it's way.

Better get of my chuff and on with my day. OH has gone on a callout and will be gone for some while....

Toodle pip,
Susan

oh Susan you all had a narrow escape, he must not be allowed to see the dress.

Thanks for the emailed picture, it didnt open in the body of the mail (and I never click on attachments if they dont automatically open in the body of the mail) but there was a thumbnail which was just big enough for me to see how lovely your daughter is, and her Intended looks a nice young man.

Fear not, I am keeping my distance from people with catchable maladies. Unfortunately, the viruses themselves do not know to give me a wide berth.

Brrrrr it is sooooo cold again, I froze my buns off yesterday and today is no better. Why are the winters so cold with global warming?? :-S

hey Susan, come back dear, CC is here ......... since you wont send me a can of Warm, I shall have to bring my own empty can to your house and fill it. We've survived another bitterly cold day here. I had a one-sided sore throat and ear ache earlier this evening, but have dosed myself with brandy and lemon in boiled water and its not so bad now. How I feel in the morning remains to be seen.

The cat curled up all night long in my room, then this morning she went to her own room where she slept until mid afternoon before asking to go out. And she didnt use the tray in all that time. Oh how I wish I could cross my legs for so long :-D :-D ;-) ;-)

Puss seems to be slipping into "old lady" habits, sleeping for much longer, although she still has some kittenish moments, but she hardly slept at all when she was little; I know she scampered around all night because when I got up in the morning I'd have to clear up the evidence, one night she got hold of my Tribble and played with it up and down the staircase.

Yes, Tribble. As in Star Trek : The Trouble with Tribbles. I went to the Star Trek Exhibition in London when it was here, and there is a picture of me hugging a huge Tribble, but the one I own is only little, and it lives on a higher shelf now.

Teresa having posted earlier I then went to Yahoo and found your mail but the attachment wont open. CC, hope your self medicating didn't give you a headache :-D. We had a friend to stay last night, we hadn't had a catch up in a long time... Guess who had one too many glasses of wine and can feel it this morning :-(..
Won't be having 'hair of the dog' that is for sure.....

Sorry you didn't receive the can of warmth, we certainly have alot of it to spare. Our good weather goes on and on. Parts of the country have now been declared drought zones... Gone is the lovely green grass :-(.
Please, come on down and get your fill.!!

Your cat sounds rather cute, must admit to not being a cat owner/lover. Though I can appreciate their charm... We have the odd puss that passes through our garden on the way to or from goodness knows where. I always try and deter them from catching their dinner in my garden....
Pup has been over this morning and had a few slices of rockmelon.. and a cherry tomato. She is near vegetarian.... loves her fruit and vegetables. Our latest fun is roll an apple across the lawn, she chases it, plays with for a bit then consumes said apple, delicately spitting out the stalk - and only the stalk :-).

Teresa, thanks for the email, toooooo cute. Hope FTE is having a blast.

I wonder if Lesley is surviving playing mine host or is she worn to a frazzle do you think?. Time will tell.

Petunia, I would suggest your old bones could do with a bit of warmth through them.... Figuratively speaking of course :-D... How are you dear?.

Oops, look at the time, time I wasn't here... Have a pleasant evening / tomorrow..

dont worry Susan, I never drink enough brandy to get a headache - only a dash in a mug of boiled water as a rule. A dash equals maybe one tablespoon.

one way to keep cats out of the garden, is to tell the dog there are cats out there .......... :-D :-D Cats wont know the pup only wants to play!!

Our temperatures have gone up a little .... just a little. It's still Hat Hair time, but last night it wasnt quite so bitterly cold.
