Hi everyone


Just an update

All is go for my operation on Tuesday.

I've had all my pre-op tests ........... blood taken, ecg done, and chest x-ray taken. Plus time spent at the Pre-Operation Assessment Clinic, where I talked to a nurse who told me all kinds of things, and also to an anaesthetist.

It seems I might present them with a minor problem ............... the anaesthetist raised his eyebrows when I told him that I seem to be allergic (or at least have a response to) all kinds of tapes, except for the old kind of fabric Elastoplast.

He said they might have a problem, and "you do know don't you that most people have a problem with that Elastoplast?!"


I report at 6:45 am to the Nuclear Medicine department at one hospital to have an injection, then we have to drive across town to the other, smaller hospital where the op will be done. They want me there by 7:30 am.


Just keeping our fingers crossed that the rush hour traffic isn't too bad!

Just pictured you turning up for you mammogram next year (sorry warped sense of humour) and imagining the faces of the mammogramists 9or what ever they are called.).

I wonder if the hospital staff have been rushing round trying to find some old-style elastoplast? At least Elastpplast shouldn't have a use by date.
Bet your ers are burning as they make umpteen phone calls to their suppliers and local pharmacies.

I saw the thread when I clicked onto Genes for the first time for awhile.I am pleased to hear you had a lovely Anniversary.
I am sorry to hear you have to go under the knife on Tuesday ,I will be thinking of you and I will say a special prayer to-night that all goes well .

Life here in oz is good we are finally having some nice sunny weather, to-day was very nice we had a big Bon fire in the paddock late afternoon invited all the neighbour's and had a sausage sizzle and Marshmellows on sticks our neighbours are in a drumming group and they all came and we had a little concert the Grand children loved it and were dancing to the drum's.

evening sylvia, i have only just seen this thread, cant think why i never noticed it before. anyway a belated happy anniversary and glad you had a lovely meal.

i am sending you lots of good wishes and positve thoughts for tuesday and hope all goes well. i am also allergic to plasters as they leave a red line all around and itch like mad, taking half my skin with the plaster when it comes off! when i give blood, its a bandage they put on my arm lol.

take care and try not to worry, we will be all thinking of you and look forward to when you return.
