Yes it would be nice if we could all lead perfect lives.

Some of us do try to make better decisions than poor Amy and manage to struggle along, learning as we go.

As a youngster, I enjoyed a drink and I smoked but only once came across the drugs scene, making the decision not to join in.

Nowadays I don't really drink and I stopped smoking 30 years ago so I'm now probably considered a boring old f##t.

..............nobody's perfect. :-D :-D :-P :-P ;-) ;-)

Irene, I get what you are saying. Comedian Dave Allen died around the same time as my Dad, and Dad love watching Dave Allen, so at least I know he'll be having a good laugh.

Its very sad that she has died,no matter how or why, she vwas a talented singer who lost her way in life, just celebrate her music, not the fact that she should,nt have taken drugs ,( which they assume killed her) any blame or Ire should be heaped upon the person or persons who introduced her to these things.Personally I hope they and all like them Rot in Hell. RIP Amy. <3.**M**.

Oh I don't know if it is newsworthy particularly but she was a very talented young lady and, despite the fact that she may have brought this on herself, it's a shame when any youngster dies so early, whether they are a singer or a soldier.

Money and fame just hasten a decline in those who cannot cope. Poor girl, I sure this not what her family wished for her.

To anyone who thinks addiction is not an illness, you are correct in your assumption, however it is a symptom to an illness, Depression in all it's shapes and forms. I am not talking mild depression which we all suffer from time to time, but something that comes with daemons so horrific that the drugs or alcohol become a crutch to get you through the day. To the outside world it is obvious that it is not working but to the sufferer it means an obliteration of what is happening in their minds at any given time. The road to recovery is very steep and very slippery. It involves dealing with the root cause, the depression, facing the daemons and coming to terms with them. This in itself is extremely difficult.
Celebrity is a job which is exploited by the media, and who exploits the media to satisfy the curiosity of the general populous. What is portrayed in the media is a mixture of truths, half truths, lies and conjecture.

Amy Winehouse had a family who loved her unconditionally, whose worst nightmare has been realized. She was an enormous talent. RIP Amy
