I do hope things aren't as bad as feared and your Dad can have some treatment to extend his time with you all

My poor old Dad had this horrible illness too and it was diagnosed too late for any treatment but we had 5 months to care for him and show him he was loved.

Sending many positive thoughts to help you all through.

Well dad got his MRI scan today it was put off yesterday as he was having problems with his breathing so they wanted to sort that out first we havent got the reults of that yet should be tomorrow
He is starting his radiotherapy tomorrow and that should help with his breathing when it starts to shrink the tumour
He is having five days of this and then a break before he starts chemo so he might get home for a few days providing his breathing is ok
Thankyou for al your words of support for myself and my family it means a great deal to us all
I will update again as soon as I know more
God bless you all

Yes I hope that he can be helped to breath more easily. It is frightening when you can't breath properly.

We will stick by your side PP and hope the scan results are the right ones.

PP Just looked in to see how your dad was today. I do hope his breathing gets better. When my mum had it she had fluid on her lungs which she had drained off a few times and it made a huge difference for her.
Take care xxx

My Dad had some radiotherapy at one point which helped him get his appetite back and be able to eat properly again, for a while. That was 21 years ago, the doctors know even more about the illness and how best to help patients so I am sure once they help him with the breathing and such and he has some treatments, he will feel a little stronger and find some fight in himself as well.
Thinking about you and your Dad

Hi Everyone
My mum just rang me the hospital rang her to give her the news the cancer is not in dads brain which is such good news
Dad had a good nights sleep the first in a long time so thats good
He gets his first lot of radiotherapy today and hopefully he should see an improvement in his breathing in next 3 days as it shrinks the tumour
They have started him on steriods to see if this will help him to get his appetite as he hasnt been eating a lot and lost so much weight
Once again thankyou for your support and keeping your prayers and positive thoughts going for my dad and our family

So glad that the cancer hasn't spread to your Dad's brain.

Hope the treatment will help and he can start to eat more and gain strength to fight back.

That happened to my Dad, he went in for respite care so Mum could have a rest and he could have some treatment and he came home to eat well again for quite a while. As I said before his cancer wasn't detected soon enough for any more treatment but those extra weeks were good for him and us all. He got to eat a big Christmas dinner and then was around for his and Mum's 44th Wedding Anniversary, tucking into the cake I made as well.

Keep us posted and know our positive thoughts often help a lot for folk who need them
