My thoughts are with you and family today PP.

Dear Polly pocket, may I add my condolences and hugs for you, To my shame I have only just seen this today. Having walked a similar road with my precious Dad, many years ago, I share your pain . Our time together was short as well, after diagnosis, 3 weeks to the day. But I remain grateful that we had the chance to love him through the final journey.

Hope today goes the way you planned it and you can hold it together to support your Mum. There's no shame in weeping tho, best to let your sorrow out than try and hold it in.

You aren't saying goodbye, just 'see you later'. Try and think of your Dad with other family members gone ahead, chatting and catching up with them. It always comforts me when we lose someone from our family or friends to think of my Mum making her lovely cakes and sausage rolls and cups of tea, just as she did when anyone came to the house.

Polly Poppet, dont think of your Dad as gone, he will be there watching over you all the time. My Dad has been dead for over 40 yrs now, but he still influences me to do things his way and I can hear him say when he approves.
Strength to you and your family while you come to terms with this.
