Mel, I forget to say, one branch of my family originates from Clovelly. Is that anywhere near you? Some of them were married by Charles Dicken's father.
What a lovely part of the country to live. Want to do a house swap lol

We have had a little light rain here today but it is still quite bright.

Garden center just rang to say my new fairies are in and I can go and collect them when I want to. OH is going to take me today, this afternoon, in a minuet!!!!! So excited ............ I am like a child when it comes to fairy things. Silly I know but it is my escape.

Catie not far from Clovelly really. 13 miles to bideford and not far from there. Can't remember where you said you lived!! Was it London?? I am in Buckland Filleigh. Do a search on Buckland House which they let and you can see the big house which I can see from my back door as I live in the veg garden that used to belong to the house. OUr village church is next door to Buckland House.

Been shopping today, BHS has a jewlery sale on , buy 1 get 1 free so I bought a few earings and bangles in my favourite colours, pink, turquiose, and blue.
Been to see dad this afternoon, he was outside in the garden playing with a ball passing it to one of the students who is training there.
it was very warm and he had his hat and jacket on. they can't get him to take them off. he was going on about his working days and kept saying that the people here kept asking him to do odd jobs but he had not been paid yet , he wasn't happy at all . oh dear I said I would have a word with them about it LOL!!!

Tracy - FROZEN MILK!!!
We don't get our milk delivered daily and I don't drive so I can't carry milk up from the shops every day , so on a friday night when OH takes me to the supermarket we buy 4 2 pint bottles of milk and store them in the freezer so when we need milk we just take a bottle out and defrost it.

Hi David thank you for that idea thats great why did I not think of that. I saw the repair man today and I am not paying his bill not the amount he says he wants. He only cleaned up a few files .Do hope Ralph is feeling better.

Sheila

Sheila Report 13 Aug 2010 17:40

Shirl borrowing someone elses computor now tried mine earlier it was flashing like mad .my son came and lent me his He works all the while and does not use it. The keyboard is different though. He said he would help me get another for Christmas I might do what David said.

I was panicking earlier the repair guy said it will cost
£100 to put right and it may go wrong again. Im new to computors but this one was my daughters shes got a lap top.

David

David Report 13 Aug 2010 17:43

Sheila, the computer I'm using I bought off ebay.
Less than £20 plus carriage.
I bet that's less than his bill.
The low price of mine was due to 2 reasons,
it's not a modern model (Who cares?) and it was bought in an ebay auction.
Search under computing on the ebay under computer tower or PC tower.
Good luck.

Sheila

Sheila Report 13 Aug 2010 18:03

David I have written it down so will have a look it does not
matter if it is not modern just want one that works thank you
so much David.

Frank Report 13 Aug 2010 18:28

You won't believe it, but I posted the above at about 10am this morning. Just opened up again and there it is, Only 8 hours late.

Jane, have you had the rain today???? It started this morning and has rained all day. It was so bad this afternoon that it was blowing in throught a top window in the kitchen. The worktop was soaked. Still very overcast now. so might get a bit more.

Harvey, my eldest son, the landscape gardener, does a lot of work for a very rich family. It's his birthday on the 27th August, and they bought him a present. ONLY THE TOP OF THE RANGE "I PAD"!!!!!. He was almost in tears when he opened it. Cost £800.00. Lewis said "Dad can we share it" when Harvey said NO. Lewis wouldn't speak to him. He arrived in France last night, after driving down. He won't fly. But as he said. If he flew down he would need to hire a car for three weeks, so this is cheaper. and he will bring the family back, at the end of the month. So that another big saving.

Might go for a pint tonight.
