Hi de hi,

Poor Ralph David, let's hope he soon picks up and feels better. Lots of xxxxx for him.

Well I was really glad to wake up this morning........had an awful dream.......this 'do' is obviously on my mind!! lol I dreamt I drove over to MIL's and found that OH had forgotten the sandwiches. Off I went in my car to go and get them but got lost and had to pull up outside some shops next to roadworks as an enormous truck was driving through. It was getting dark so I thought I'd pop in one of the shops to ask where the hotel was that we were aparently having the party in. Got to the shop door and realised I didn't know the name of the hotel or the road where it was. Got back to the car and opened the boot to get the bag out with my mobile in it to ring OH. I suddenly noticed a man was sitting in the passenger seat. I asked him what he wanted and he said as it was a taxi he wanted taking somewhere!! I looked again at the car and yes I was driving a taxi!! Managed to get rid of him and went back to the boot and my handbag had been snatched while I was talking to the man. Still I had my mobile in my hand so switched it on..........flat battery .......the spare one being in the snatched handbag. I remember sitting there thinking I am in a strange place, I don't know where the hotel is, mobile doesn't work and I have no money and it is getting dark..........then I woke up, THANK GOODNESS...PHEEUW lol

I made a white Readicut rug for the bedside for my 'bottom drawer' (remember those?) before I got married. I must say it lasted donkeys years and I used to wash it in the washing machine and it would come up like new.

Mandy and Maureen are very talented and make and paint some lovely things. I still have my stripey socks to knit for next christmas!! lol

Fiona, Sofia knows what she wants then. lol She looks such a little sweetie too.

Egg and chips was a favourite as a child or egg on fried bread. It must be years since I had fried bread.

Oh heck Ann,I think you need a chill pill lol..........Not long and the do will all be done and dusted. It will go fine I'm sure.It is funny how things that play on your mind turn into the weirdest dreams.I think I am the Queen of weird dreams lol.I used to keep a notepad beside the bed to write down my dreams before I forgot them.
It's as black as your hat out there ,I wonder if that means we will actually get a lot of rain ,or will it zoom of somewhere else again.

Am joining you Sheila this am! thats right, a shirty thread!! I asked the other day if anyone could help me to go even further back from info I had ages ago, sure I was asking twice but not for the same info! Have been quite taken to task for not referring back to first thread and for all the time other people have taken looking for me!! Have written back saying that I don't EXPECT anyone to look up anything for me, if they want to that's really great, if they don't than ignore the request, nobody makes you do anything so no need for shirtiness!!! Have rescued a small bird this morning, it hit the window, not sure if it's badly hurt or just stunned, time will tell.

Jane

Jane Report 11 Aug 2010 10:29

Not someone being shirty here are they Elizabeth?.Do you mean another thread ?Some people can be so rude sometimes.
Poor bird.We often get a thump ,and then I take a big breath and peep outside, dreading what I will find.Usually they will be dead, but on the odd occasion when I have left them for a while they will recover.I hate it when a pidgeon hits the window. You can see the shape of the wings on the glass!

I really must get down that garden lol

Oh heavens no, nobody on this site, it was on another thread, I think some people think they own the sites and can inflict their attitudes on the rest of us! As I said if someone posts something that irritates or annoys then ignore it, no one MAKES any one do anything!! there you go, got if off my chest , takes all sorts etc! Little bird still alive, but I think its hurt its leg(s), so I don't think its going to make it, I've put into our compost heap which is well off the ground and enclosed by boards, its also got old potatoes in it which have grown into plants, so there is some protection from the sun (?!), it should be pretty safe, I don't think there is anything else I can do.

Morning All,

So nice to see Catie and Elizabeth on the thread again. Please stay with us girls??!!!!

Suns out this morning and OH has been on my pooter doing my updates for me so I could'nt get on any earlier. Mum is up now too.

Catie hope hubbies eye is a bit better this morning and do give him my wishes for a speedy recovery.

David so sorry to here Ralph is not too good again but it must be strange on his inards to be getting food through again after so long. Hope he is fairing better today and that infection is under control now. Give him my regards please and we are all thinking of him in mind and prayer.

Probably go out with SIL and other half today and then have a barby tonight.

Last night it stopped raining and just as it was getting dark they set off one of those lanterns over the big house. We watched it go right out of sight and then we let one off!! You could hear what they were sying over the big house as our walled garden acts like a BIG ear and echos what they say in the Big house garden. We live in the vegatable garden to this big house just about 4 or 500 yards away. Later as it got darker they set off lots of sky lanterns in a long row and I could see flashes coming from the gardens of the house so they must have taken photos. I should have come in and got the camera and done the same.

As I walked SIL up to the caravan last night the breeze had dropped and it was as still as anything and the stars were all out and shining brightly. She said how nice it was to see so many stars and how bright they appeared.

AND WHERE IS OUR FRANK?

Hope he is ok and not hurt himself again............

Morning all,
Lovely and sunny here ,just a few clouds overhead .

Elizabeth ,i had a rude reply once when i asked for a look up , puts you off asking again !!
Poor little bird ,hope it recovers .
Off to make some Chocolate Buns for the grandchildren and a Cheese and Onion Quiche for tea

Sons not at work today ,he's got a tummy bug been sick and bad all night , i hope the little ones don't get it !

LilyL

LilyL Report 11 Aug 2010 11:57

This,of course is the trouble, you just feel you can't ask again, no-one means to be annoying, but sometimes you are asking about the same people but something different about them! Oh well, onwards and upwards! little bird still hanging in there.

I've been looking at the Probate Registers on Ances*ry , found my Gt Grandfather ,he left an Estate of £1,793 in 1882 , when his wife died in 1889 she left £140 ,i wish i could see the wills !!

Jane

Jane Report 11 Aug 2010 13:56

I wonder is she went on a spending spree Mandy!!!!!!.£1 793 was a huge amount of money back then.

LilyL

LilyL Report 11 Aug 2010 13:56

Afternoon All,

Sunny here and far too warm.........in my kitchen that is!! Been cooking chicken drumsticks and sausage rolls for tomorrow and doing a plate of cheesy picks and preparing salad. OH has been a bit of a pain. I was brushing the drumsticks with a honey, soy, lemon juice and tomato concoction and he was fretting around me saying DONT put soy, garlic etc in as his parents don't like it. Honestly, if we excluded what they don't like there wouldn't be much left. I shut him up by saying that we have tortilla chips (which he loves and suggested) and they don't like those!! All I have to do now is put the sandwiches on platters later and decide WHAT TO WEAR???

No dreams last night.....too shattered I think!! OH said he dreamt he was being chased by people with knives.

Glad your OH's eye is so much better Catie.......amazing what a night's sleep can do.

Still no Frank?? Perhaps he is whacked from the weekend festival.

Annx Report 11 Aug 2010 14:04

OH was saying something from the newspaper in a shop today about wills going on line from roughly 1850 to 1940 Mandy. There is a bit here about it but no site is shown yet. Interesting to have found that about your rellie.

My Gt Grandfather was a Tea Dealer ,I wonder if all the money was left to his wife ! or if the children had some ,apparently my grandfather (their son )was a lazy so and so and my grandmother threw him out of the house because he wouldn't get a job !!
So he might have had money , on one Census he is down as working for The Prudential
