Maybe we should try but I find it normally happens with a lot of people after a while anyway - although some of them end up reminding you why you didn't like them in the first place:) There are only a few on here who get me wound up regularly and a few I just don't like and I mostly manage to avoid them anyway.

LWH would YOU respond to someone calling your son a b**stard? of course it is up to you to acknowledge or otherwise someone who says that to you in real life or on a thread ...but personally I am not destined for sainthood. I fear.

that's the thing Rose, it would have to be a two way thing, people would have to be perfect and not provoke each other, which I don't think is going to happen but it would be nice lol

Also, I don't think anyone could stand aside & let people be picked on just to avoid an argument with someone and I don't think people should.

I would like to say to you all here and now it’s a new year and a new start, I won’t react to anything I wont argue I wont in my opinion defend someone when I think I have too. I wont insult any of you by saying that. I don’t enjoy rowing and I don’t often do so in real life. At times I don’t like what I can become, or even what I felt has had to be done to defend myself, but I will do it.

To answer the question, by all means put our old troubles behind us but please forgive an old biddy and leave me with my few grudges:-) lol BCXX

Sounds good Joy, but it needs everyone to do that & as some of your replies show that is unlikely to happen.
Perhaps we should all try harder to read threads thoroughly before posting replies, many of the disagreements/hurts start when someone takes a split second glance at a thread title & then posts in a way that can be thought of as hostile.
If you have a problem with someone else’s views on life/religion/etc., why not stay away from their threads?
If someone posts, realizes that they are making a mistake so quickly deletes, why start a thread about it?
Not ALL the problems lie with the few people who always get blamed! For example, I know for a fact (having received copies ... & deleted from my pc) photos of meets were circulated by members who now join in blaming others.

I agree totally with Rose. I too have been bitten on here, and will not forgive the person that did, because to this day, I do not know why.

I dont have a problem anyone seeing my photo Carol none at all, what I objected too was the fact she wouldnt tell us which photo and allowed us to worry and carried on posting when we asked repeatedly which photos and where they had come from we knew at the time that a certain someone had lifted photos of others from FB, even thou she wasn't the one we are talking about now, baring in mind Muffy children are a lot younger than mine even thou the thought of people ridiculing my children for the fun of it fills me with anger , so to laugh at me and call me Miss Piggy as she has done since bothers me not a jot... because compered to some I am a bloody oilpainting even first thing in the morning lol x

I'm usually the first to say life's too short to harbour grudges, and I dont' usually do it, but that doesn't mean that I can't be wary of someone who has hurt me in the past.

As for the collective, well it's a bit difficult to forget that someone we thought a good friend can cause so much nastiness and mayhem across the www over a bunch of bleedy flowers. How do you 'move on' from that?
