I used to have some pearls once. My mother gave me hers, but as she was starting to go little doo lally by that time, I thought they were out of a cracker and gave them away :(

Hmmm - him next door - very flattering for you, but would you be interested if he were single?

AuntySherlock Report 20 Mar 2010 23:32

He might be OK Pauline. You have to remember that Gerard Butler, Orlando Bloom, and Sean Connery have to live somewhere. They also might be practising their neighbourly skills on their next door neighbour, prior to finding a job as a fireman (after the acting career is over of course). Wait and see, with great caution would be my advice.

And LG oooooohhhhh!! Just heard on the radio. Your lot are now on the top of your league table. I hope you have lots of red and white paint available.

GOTTA Go........

Two women friends had gone for a girls' night out.
Both were very faithful and loving wives, however they had gotten over-enthusiastic on the Bacardi Breezers.

Incredibly drunk and walking home they needed to pee, so they stopped in the cemetery.
One of them had nothing to wipe with so she thought she would take off her panties and use them. Her friend however was wearing a rather expensive pair of panties and did not want to ruin them.

She was lucky enough to squat down next to a grave that had a wreath with a ribbon on it, so she proceeded to wipe with that.
After the girls did their business, they continued on home.
The next day, the husband of one of the women was concerned that his normally sweet and innocent wife was still in bed hung over, so he phoned the other husband and said:
"These girl nights have got to stop! I'm starting to suspect the worst. My wife came home with no panties!!"
"That's nothing," said the other husband,
"Mine came back with a card stuck to her ass that
said......
'From all of us at the Fire Station.
We'll never forget you

Eh you lot!! You've got it all wrong lol!! I am not one bit interested!!! Was just taken aback as I have only lived here for 11 months so don't know them well.

A thank you for cutting the wire was sufficient gratitude Aunty and I don't think I'll be asking him for any other favours, work kind or other!!!

It is a beautiful sunny day here. Gardening calls!! A little gentle weeding, prepare dinner and r-e-l-a-x-a-t-i-o-n this afternoon!

LG, I would congratulate your team on their achievements, but I can't bring myself to do it as they are also Steptoe's team and he is definitely NOT in favour!

AuntySherlock Report 21 Mar 2010 08:55

Well that's sorted that out. Thank goodness. It would be quite hectic with two lots of fascinators and stillettos to sort out. If he tries another approach be sure to make it quite clear you have a handsome fireman with a long hose to look after you.

YG Report 21 Mar 2010 09:21

A colleague loves Bamburgh Castle too Maz. He often visits when he's up norf visiting family.

You are lucky to have such lovely places so close to you. I could just do with a drive to somewhere like that today and have a cream tea!!!!

AuntySherlock

AuntySherlock Report 21 Mar 2010 09:26

Looks like you are correct Maz. There is a post on Tips (or somewhere) about it. Evidently FMP is supposed to be taking it over. The word on the threadline is it may spell the end of these forums.

I'm no gypsy with a crystal ball so I will just wait and see what happens. Should be interesting.

Mazfromnorf

Mazfromnorf Report 21 Mar 2010 09:38

it is to run independently if they take the forums off i will not renew as this really why i come on here .I will have to gather my tree up though first

AuntySherlock

AuntySherlock Report 21 Mar 2010 09:48

Yes, it might be well to ensure you have your tree in another place or in an offline program. Just in case they decide to whoosh everything.

I can't see that happening and I do hope they don't make the boards like Ancestry they are so bad and take so long to get an answer to any questions.

+++DetEcTive+++

+++DetEcTive+++ Report 21 Mar 2010 10:52

Well, they really ought to keep the 'help' boards as a service, although with the 'connect' service on Ancestry, it is getting easier to contact people with the same relatives. We can only speculate.

Should have told my friend about 'someone's' fascination with firemen. They had *2!!* fire engines called to their house on Friday! I'm sure no one would have noticed of one or two of them failed to make it back to the Station!!!!
Her OH's pride and joy, a 3 yr old Mazda MX5 caught fire and exploded. No one hurt, but very shaken as he only just got out in time,

Oh DET, that sounds like it was a close call, have they found out why the car caught fire?

I thought YG could do better than a man who already had a partner. There are plenty of single ones around.

I think every woman can do better than be 'The other woman'.

+++DetEcTive+++ Report 21 Mar 2010 16:07

The Fire Brigade think it might have been an electrical fault. The annoying thing is that there was smoke coming from under the dashboard earlier this month, but the main dealer couldn't find out why, despite having it in for 4 days.

Well, that's the gardening done for the month - lol! We've discovered that some animal has ripped off part of the slatted fence, leaving a 6 inch gap. Who's let the CP's loose?????

Glad you enjoyed your trip out yesterday Maz. Really must drag OH off somewhere different for the day: we are both getting cabin fever.

AuntySherlock

AuntySherlock Report 21 Mar 2010 21:29

Well you are ging to have to read my mind. Just typed a good morning message to you all, clicked submit, an error message came up and I have lost the lot.

Let me see. Hope you are going out into the sunshine when you can. Sunshine helps you mentally during the dreary winter months as well as giving vitamin D.

We have only 9 more work days until the holidays. I've planned some family history research in the city and a shopping day with the daughter.

The CPs should be on their way back to the UK. They miss Nut Lodge and while they have enjoyed their holiday and the money they earned while here, I think they will be pleased to be back.

That's all I can remember except for Good morning to you all. And now I cam going to copy this before i send it. Oh just remembered I'm at work early because of a meeting.

+++DetEcTive+++

+++DetEcTive+++ Report 21 Mar 2010 21:34

Is this the meeting that was cancelled last time you went in extra early? lol Hope it comes off this time!

No, I'm not sitting waiting for words of wisdom to be transmitted from half way round the world...there is a TV prog on that BM avidly follows and no one else in the household can be bothered with. Much more interesting to catch up on todays goings on here.
