Alison and Susan - we may not be around when you post, but any of us are likely to pop in at any time, so don't feel you are talking to thin air!
Susan is probably asleep by now - sleep well. Alison - enjoy your day and YOU stay beautiful!!

Hello, especially to Susanwithnumbers. This is a highly unusual time for me to be on, but thank you for your kind words. I hope we have been supportive with Linda. Even though I am male I have no ideas on how to help Alison's husband/partner. I have not had to deal with cancer much in my family. There is some mental illness. My girlfriend has a number of serious health issues but nothing life threatening yet. That's not quite true, as she has had lymph glands removed because of a secondary melanoma in one, but is going OK after six years. Good morning/afternoon to all. PS Berona, I had gone too far along Vardys Road west of Lalor Park when I took the wrong turning into the T lane. When I get the ticket I shall try pleading stupidity. It might work. Either that, or I will sign a stat dec that someone else was driving. Maybe my old mate Marcus Einfeld. Hold on ... Marcus is in gaol for doing just that ... OK I never met Marcus but I did meet his father. Colin.

Good afternoon Aussies/Good morning to those that may be having their brekkie:-))
I'm having a nice peaceful day today while my boys are out playing Softball, its the second game of the season.. they won their fist game 11-5. My hubby plays in the same team as my 18 year old son, they both enjoy it immensely!!!
Alison...Yep!!! you are beautifully brilliant, hope you enjoyed watching your DVD, what did you watch?
Sue...Hope you enjoyed your day at the park with your Grandchildren, my younger sister became a Grandmother this year, she is beside herself with such pride and love for this little angel. We were there for the birth (my sister and I) and after the birth, I held the father in my arms while he cried his eyes out, I then began to blubber myself...what a beautiful moment that was:-))))
Hello to... Berona, Linda, Barbara, Susan with numbers, Diane, Tec, Colin and off coarse the hairy legged one Allan:-))))

Hello Janet - nice of you to drop in. We've had a beautiful day here too. My son brought his pressure spray and cleaned my pavers in the courtyard, then finished off by washing my car - no, not with the pressure spray! I have been sitting back looking at how nice it all is (and feeling very spoiled too!).
I didn't realise how late it is. Must go and cook some dinner. Hope you have a lovely evening!

Good afternoon to all rightway up people and a good morning to all upsidedwoners in UK.
Colin, it's great to see your post. I think that just sending Alison and her OH your thoughts is help enough.
whem my mum was diagnosed with cancer back in 1971 it was in the days of "don't tell them"
What a farce!! My mum knew that she had cancer, we knew: she knew that we knew and we knew that she knew that we knew (sorry, that sounds like something from the Two Ronnies) and all the time we were acting as though there was nothing wrong even though we had been told that my mum's case was terminal.
Never again!
hi to Carole and Janet
Janet, the first hot day has floored me. It was the local Gvernment elections here today and just the walk over to the polling booth was an effort. Currently 35C.
Berona, send some dinner over. I will provide the parsley and coriander. Did those flowers arrive???

No Allan, they haven't arrived yet - you only put a lousy 1cent stamp on it - remember? I'll probably have to pay double the difference to take delivery of them - and they'll be wilted - and smelly too, no doubt!
Barbra - you worry me. What kind of a dosier do you have on me? Don't listen to Allan!

Ooh if Barbra's making notes about us all, I'd better spruce meself up. *licks palm and smooths down hair.*
Carole, I watched Murder She Wrote. The guy in JB HiFi said that I'm in there every day. He exaggerates of course, but he did say as I was leaving, "See you next week."!!!!
Hope you had a nice dinner/tea Berona.
I bet SueMaid is pooped!!
Susan with numbers - yes we are all "luverly" - I'm the loveliest don't you know (cough, splutter)

OK, that's it, I am now a fully certified idiot and as such ideally suited to post on this thread. I just took my gold watch into the jewellers to have a new battery fitted. When I went back to collect it, they told me that it doesn't have a battery, it is a wind up watch and is working fine! How long have I had it? Only thirty five years.

It wouldn't have been going for 35 years without winding it up, if it's a wind-up watch - so what made you think it needed a battery too?
There's your warning signal Linda - you need a rest! But yes, that should qualify you for life membership on this board!
I still have a watch which goes by perpetual motion - no battery, no winder. I've had it for 43 years and never had any trouble with it.

Berona...........I've been going on perpetual motion all my life, but now the motion seems to have slowed down, my tick doesn't tock so well now.

I am hoping for a rest now Berona. I can't believe that it is now three weeks today since mum died, I have been flat out since then, with no time just to sit and think.
Mercifully there should be a lull now as the house is all sorted and up for sale this week and the never ending admin has slowed down as well. Until the probate comes through in a few weeks, there shouldn't be that much to do.
I haven't really had any time to grieve for her, I only realised that when I went to the cemetery yesterday. As it is going to be quite a while before all the paper work goes through and I can add her name to the inscription, I wanted to change the flowers. She kept saying that red roses would look nice, but I didn't think that they were terribly suitable for dad, but I promised her that she could have some,so I filled the vase with lots of silk red roses yesterday. I must admit that I had a bit of a cry as well.
So hopefully I can have time to unwind a bit now and spend more time at home

Good morning/evening all. I've just popped in while the children are eating breakfast. They sleep and eat well so no problems there.
Linda you can be forgiven for being a bit addled. You've had so much on your plate. I just told OH what you've done and he thought it hilarious. Berona's right you need a rest and as I said before - time to grieve. Very important.

Good morning Sue and good eveing Diane - doesn't seem like anyone else is with us - but good morning/evening if they are!
Linda - a good cry never hurt anyone. Let it out whenever you feel like it and it will help you.
Sue - how are you coping with the three little ones? I would be at my wits' end by now. I love them to death, but I would need to have a break from them if I had them with me for this long! Your OH must be a good help.
Where are the boys? I suppose Tec's hiding, waiting for Allan - who should be having a double length walk to make up for sleeping through it yesterday! He had the cheek to ask me if his flowers had arrived yet - and he ony put a one cent stamp on the package! They are probably coming by camel-train and are still somewhere around the Nullabor!
