Hi Susanwithnumbers - what's happening? I'd better go look at the thread where I left a comment. Hope I didn't start anything.

Allan,
Because I was brought up in SE England, I had never heard of Parkin, so must be a northern thing.
My mum also made treacle toffee on bonfire night, and coconut ice, pink and white.

Of course you can hide here, but will you be any safer here in the funny farm?

Good evening Tec,

I never thought of Parkin as being a regional cake but I suppose it may well be. My mum was always cooking and baking and I used to love helping her..the incentive was I got to lick the bowl out!

My mum used to make treacle toffee and I made it too....but ate it myself cos it would have been bad for the children's teeth :-))))

Fancy not being able to differentiate between the Sues' Allan....for goodness sake man....wake up and put on your gentleman's hat :-)))))

Sorry...am in a silly mood tonight and you are it! :-))))

Well I am the only sane one here!

Has anyone heard of bread pudding, it's to die for, and sticks to your ribs if eaten hot with custard - nobody made it like my mum.
