Not exactly skipping around like a five year old, Tec. However, I am still finding things which I hid from my nearly-three y.o. grandson yesterday - and also finding things which HE hid from me!
The cat is sleeping off her experience from yesterday too. She is not used to being chased and grabbed all the time!
However, I can sit out in my courtyard without feeling guilty when I look at the weeds coming up from under the neighbour's fence. My son pulled them all out and/or sprayed, so the courtyard now looks like it should look! He brought his power sprayer for the pavers, but decided to come back next week, after the weed spray has had time to take effect.
I'm very lucky with my family now looking out for me, but I suppose they are paying me back for putting up with them for so long. All three boys tried living away from home - and all came back again! - and were into their thirties before they settled down. My daughter checks on me daily and gives them a prod when anything needs to be done.

Uzzi, I have found this thread to be a haven of insanity (sometimes) compared to other threads...long may it thrive!
Speaking of which, I also used to post regularly on another thread, 'Alphabet of Plants'. The thread was started by Annina and had regular posters. Persephone was one.
Yesterday...Whoosh, gone, vanished! Annina didn't delete it, absolutely nothing offensive, alittle bit of chat but mostly the word of a plant. Bl**dy annoying!
Rant over!

Allan, The new road sounds good, and will be a boon to anyone who has to travel that way regularly. How unkind of you to think of all those big wigs possibly getting wet in the middle of nowhere - I share your wicked streak, I hope their suits don't shrink so that they have to buy new ones on expenses.
Berona, It is so good that your children watch out for you, you must be much loved. These days so many families live far away from parents, so the elderly don't always get the help they need.
Well my friends, it is so late here, I must away to my bed. Enjoy your Sunday down under, and sleep well up top.
Goodnight Tec

Goodnight Tec - and all those who are retiring. Sleep well.
It's so annoying when threads get whooshed, isn't it, Allan? I was reading one yesterday. It started out about a book being read to children, then took a turn towards horror books and movies. However, it must have taken another turn whilst I was otherwise engaged - and whoosh! All I had left to read was another thread which seemed like an autopsy on the first one!
I can't see that happening to this thread. Who could take offence at the idea of two grown men - one dressed as a maid with hairy legs and a multi coloured beanie - and the other dressed as Wee Willie Winkie - creeping along the streets at 3am? That is far too normal to be offensive to anyone!

Berona, I actually did laugh out loud when I read your post!
Who defines normality?
And, with that philosophical question asked, Iam now off to read the paper!
Have a great Sunday, Berona
Regards to all

Well, thanks Uzzi. I'm not so daft after all! Don't know what made me think you lived in Western Australia. Must have had a Senior moment! (well, that's my excuse, and I'm sticking to it - there has to be an advantage in being a senior, somewhere!).

Good morning/evening everyone.
I have been up early today and have a large vat of green tomato chutney simmering at the moment. Plus I have also made some more Blackberry jam. I forgot that OH said that we would go out for Sunday lunch before I went to the hospital this afternoon. I don't think the chutney will be ready in time, I hope so.
Poor soul is having to cook for himself every evening because I am going to the afternoon visiting then going back to mums house which is close to the hospital before visiting in the evening. By the time I get home, it is too late to eat, so I am working my way through the ready meals in mums freezer.

Good night Aussies, enjoy the rest of your Sunday Brits (and Celts, or is it Picts?). I was going to work on my ancestry tree tonight. I have the info, it is a matter of filling it in and checking hints for further info. Didn't happen. There is always tomorrow. Colin.

Good Evening/Afternoon Everyone,
Goddess of the Kitchen - Linda, I am not terribly keen on green tomatoe chutney, however, I am rather partial to blackberry jam. Therefore, when you arrive at the Manor House, will you be sure to bring a goodly supply of your excellent blackberry jam with you. Maybe your OH will invent some really exotic dishes while left to his own devices. Maybe you will discover he has hidden talents of a culinary nature.
Hi Colin, The Welsh, Scots, Irish, and Cornish, are Celts. I have forgotten all I ever knew about the Picts, but I think they were earlier. I am muddled about that.
Hope everyone else had a good day. It is glorious here again, so once again I am in the garden.
Regards Tec.

Naturally I will bring my jam to the manor Tec. I have Raspberry and Blackcurrrant as well if I can tempt you with those.
How could you not like my green tomato chutney? I also have lots apple chutney, beetroot relish or Piccalilli if any of them would suit better.
OH is coming on very nicely in the kitchen stakes since he stopped working ( I am not allowed to say retired as technically he is not old enough). He never learnt to cook as his mother died when he was young, so opening a tin was just about his limit. I have been trying to involve him more, he likes stirring things you know.
I taught him a couple of easy recipes, which he proudly produces from time to time. he has even made totally unrehearsed dishes from a recipe book

Good morning/evening everyone:-)
Linda, friends and family must love eating at your house. All those home made jams, chutneys and pickles. I love apple chutney. I buy a very nice one here and it goes very nicely with ham although I can't imagine it's as nice as a homemade one. Was your chutney done on time so you could go out to lunch, Linda?
I need to get some h*******k done today as it looks like a busy week ahead. On Wednesday I may be doing a radio interview - luckily with pre-arranged questions. I'm quite nervous about it but I can't get anyone else to do it so it has to be me. We have been invited to a morning tea at our local University as a thank you for the money we have donated to them for research. As the Uni has a media package they have kindly offered us a 5 minute segment on the radio which is invaluable to a charity organisation.
