Saying nothing - except that when Mrs Tec first saw my legs, I was a whippet aged 21, there were suppressed giggles, and some reference made to bits of string with knots in.........

No idea what that was all about - women are strange!

Hello you two. I feel almost like I shouldn't intrude on your chat.....but it's my thread and here I am:-)))

Linda, I'm glad your mum's feeling a little better. The bigger ward should make her feel less claustrophobic although I'm wondering if she'll get enough rest with other people there.

Tec I know what you mean about spending too much at the garden centre. I feel guilty at times but I also don't gamble, drink or run around with wicked women:-) OH always tells me to just buy it as he knows I wouldn't spend anything we couldn't afford. Having a gift voucher does make it guilt-free. I was also given a beautiful pot of irises and the flowers are just opening up. I take it that I treat them like all bulbs when the flowers die off?

I am sure that you are being much too modest.

I haven't looked at my tree for ages, but I am looking at the new London marriages and baptisms on ancestry and getting boggle minded trying to sort out a tangle. I think I need to leave it until I can concentrate more

LindainHerriotCountry Report 19 Sep 2009 22:56

Hello Sue, as it is your thread, you can post when ever you like.

Just bung the Irises in the garden and they will grow again.

Mum just closes her eyes and rests for most of the day, so I am sure she will be fine, in that respect any way.

Good Morning Sue,
Yes, you can just plant the bulbs in the garden when the flowers die, or repot them in fresh compost in the autumn.

Linda, there seems to be much excitement about the London Records on Ancestry. I have decide to join Ancestry in about a month. I seem to do my serious research in the winter months.

Lynda, I upgraded to Premium Ancestry. I've found so much of OH's paternal rellies. The records proved some relationships, disproved some and threw up a mystery which I will work on later.

I have the full Ancestry Worldwide and the full explorer package on Find My Past. In October the 1911 census is being added to the FMP subscription, I will upgrade to include it as soon as it is available,so just shout if you want any lookups

Time for bed,so have a good day, or rest of the evening, which ever applies

Good evening/morning everyone. Only took THREE boot-ups this morning. I thought the last couple of days were too good to be true! However, it's up and running smoothly now so my temper has abated!

Linda, I'm glad your Mum is where she can have company. Being in a quiet room alone at a time like that is not good. The nursing staff will be able to watch her more too, even while they are attending to others.

Well, there you go, Tec!....You see!.....I'm not the only one who invisages you as Wee Willie Winkie. I'll be starting on your nightcap to-day!

Sue - hope you had a lovely birthday and enjoy yourself at the garden centre!

Hello to everyone else. Hope you have a good day or that you sleep well!

Good Morning Berona,

Hope you are radiant today, and skipping about the place like a five year old.
I can see that I'm in danger of aquiring a new image here, but Wee Willie Winkie is preferable to a maid with hary legs.
I wonder where the maid is today? Been detained by the vicar in church no doubt, to polishthe pews.
Thankyou for starting the nightcap, it will be well used in the winter months when the wind howls off the sea.

Allan Report 19 Sep 2009 23:40

Good evening /morning all

I will not try to mention you all by name as I am sure to forget some one !

Linda, I'm pleased that your mum is rallying

Janet, I was sorry that your son's team didn't win the finals, but at the end of the day it is not the result that counts but the way the games is played. Too may professional players appear to have missed that point! Congratulations to his team for achieving so much

Sue, I am so pleased that you had a great day

Berona, my beanie sounds marvellous....Tec will be so jealous!

pmsl at the mental image of Tec as wee willie winkey...that will give the sheep a nasty scare.

Me and him cavorting over the hills in our respective attire: it doesn't conjure up a pretty sight!

Good Morning Allan,
Is the sun shining for you today, or is it not yet dawn?

Yes, I agree that you in your outfit, and me in mine will cause a few raised eyebrows, if not heart attacks in them there hills.
But the place could do with livening up a bit.

We could walk the battlements at night gto ward off intruders.

Good Morning Janet - didn't see you ther.

The team did so well, and as Allan said, the result doesn't matter, the achievment is in getting there.
Good Luck to your son in the Development Squad
Save me some cake please, just a small piece will do,

Tec.

Uzzi....Welcome

Tec cold and miserable here. I have rather a nasty streak in me! A new road is due to be opened here today which bypasses a city, Mandurah, which has been a bottleneck for people travelling to and from Perth to the South West.

There has been such a song and dance about the road, which will cut 30 minutes off the travel time, with both political parties trying to claim the credit for its construction.

it opens today with a ceremony in the middle section of the road, miles from anywhere and the forecast.....storms!!

Janet enjoy your day

Regards

Allan
