How was that trip to Canada? See any great sights? The CN Tower, Niagara Falls ... ?

Blimey! Hello! Oh Janey, it was lovely. Yes! We saw both the CN Tower at Toronto, but won't bore everyone about it lol, and wow, Niagara Falls is something else! We went travelling around, and it was fab. My OH and his sis, who are half-Canadian, saw where their late dad was born. Oh and this happened, and that happened ....

.... and believe it or not, on our travels we met a member of GR ........

No! A meet in Canada?!

Must be a first for GR!

So how did you like this Canadian GR-er then?

JaneyCanuck

JaneyCanuck Report 5 Jun 2009 23:05

Hmm, maybe I shouldn't have asked. ;)

Hmm, do you really want to know? lol

Completely different than how I imagined them to be .....

Ah, you thought Canadians were all so polite they apologize to the chair they trip over. ;)

An obnoxious one, was it then?

FannyByGaslight Report 5 Jun 2009 23:14

Oi you two, I am off in mornin for a Gr meet
But talking of canadian Gr members being polite and pulling the chair out for you.
They only do that when you are about to sit down so you miss the chair

Vivienne! You were there! :-))

Hope the meet goes well tomorrow. Mine was great, totally unexpected.

Viv's the only spark of life around here tonight. Falling off cows ...

Perhaps you can start a pool, Glenys. Everybody can place their bets on who you met.

Now, half these Cdn GR members are actually displaced Brits, has been my observation. Do they count, I wonder ...

Actually, if anybody does think of going to Canada, piggy bank permitting, it's a lovely country (and soooooo big!). Lots and lots of sights.
Anyway, we're off to bed soon, long day tomorrow. So night night folks, see you tomorrow sometime.

And such lovely polite people.

FannyByGaslight Report 5 Jun 2009 23:30

Why you only call me then Janey?
Mistycat had a cow called Paddles that she used to ride, remember on Seans thread?
I AM NOW ON MY WAY TO BED.
check out me Tas thread and find that Pullen job in 1861/1871 for me Janey.
I truly wish we were all on the same time zone.

I'm related to Pullen! I saw that, and thought of letting you know ...

My mother's mother's sister married a Barnardo's boy whose mother was a Pullen ... from Gloucestershire, if I recall ...

Maybe she met me? Who knows?

JaneyCanuck

JaneyCanuck Report 5 Jun 2009 23:52

Well, Deb, if you don't know ...

Reminding me of meeting someone when you're travelling. You tell them you're from, oh, Toronto. They say, my spouse has a cousin in Vancouver! Maybe you know him, Joe Blow? Works at a Tim Horton's?

And the ever-polite Canadian says Why yes! Of course! Joe Blow! Charming fellow. ;)

Maybe you gave Glenys directions and didn't even know it!

Viv's was Houdini....she also had a "LUCY" , or maybe LOU ;^)

See I remembered the ^Janey ;)

Sorry, bit off topic here....

JaneyCanuck

JaneyCanuck Report 6 Jun 2009 01:37

Topic? What topic?

All threads are about cow-riding!

But whom did Glenys meet??

Oow, Lucy Lou, yes, and we were all so utterly rooooode to poor wee Sean in his thread ...

AuntySherlock Report 6 Jun 2009 03:56

Oh look here's a thread one third of the world away.

They've all gone to bed. I wonder if they've ever heard of the Compass Cup, Mt Compass.

That'll set their little bovine loving hearts all a flutter.

When us Aussies go cow riding we do it seeeeriously.

Hope they are able to manage the language differentials.

And hope I don't zap this little thread. Must go cautiously.
