Sadly, Debs, you are keeping bad company here and will get no defence, I fear. Unless you count offence as being the best defence!

I think I'll be off to try to find somebody to try to find ...

Whose side should you are on??
(Aha, I see one of those edits-for-grammar. ;) )

I'm not at all sure we'd be able to figure it out even if you told us! ;)

The contest at hand is: what lovely GR member did Glenys meet while touring Canada??

Is somebody still smacking that puck around somewhere then?

We've managed not to have our Coronation Street disrupted at all where I'm at!

Okay, but I do have to tell my story again.

I helped someone on another site make contact wtih the family of her great-aunt's husband, who died in WWI weeks after the marriage. She had a wedding picture she wanted to pass on to his family.

I found her the marriage (then untranscribed) and thus the husband's name, and found four of his family members here at GR. One turned out to be his granddaughter! He'd had a child back home in Nottinghamshire before marrying the great-aunt in question in Devon.

She and I PMed here ... and yes, she had a cousin in Vancouver. I said I'd never actually been to Vancouver, but I did have family ties to her own location -- my grandmother's uncle owned a pub in Worksop circa 1900.

I'd recently been contacted, through census corrections I made at Ancestry, by that uncle's granddaughter, still living in Worksop, but I hadn't got around to mentioning that.

Back came the PM: She didn't believe it! She was good friends with AP, my grandmother's uncle's granddaughter, and AP had told her all about me!

So ... it's always worth asking. ;)

And I have to go check out a couple of threads. Then do some housework (that's almost two four letter words), just so OH will know I'm still here.

And Janey, I also remember some very wise person telling me some very relevant facts which proved to be quite accurate and solved a mystery from some research or other.

PS If any of you ever meet anyone from Oz be sure to mention my name. I'm quite certain they will know me.

Ontario! Well then of course it must be.

The sign of the long thin feet -- you know Lady Diana is one of the clan too, of course.
